 Good day,

After upgrading from woody to sarge, apache doesn't start anymore.

 In /var/log/apache/error.log I can see :

[Tue Jul 13 14:38:01 2004] [error] (2)No such file or directory:
 mod_mime_magic: can't read magic file /etc/apache/share/magic

and apache -X give me a segfault (see attached strace).

Can you try to disable php4?

Thanks
Fabio

Indeed, if I comment :

# LoadModule php4_module /usr/lib/apache/1.3/libphp4.so

in httpd.conf, apache start fine (but without php support, of course).

Hi all,
we are back to the old problem again :/

Djoumé this is a very old and known problem, the only known workaround to
it is to enable libapache-mod-ssl, even if unconfigured. We are all
waiting for the libc6 maintainer to fix this issue.

Jeff please it's time to fix this issue. This bug has to stay RC since it
breaks unreleated packages.

thanks
Fabio

Bug#259242: apache2-common: suexec binary in wrong place

2004-07-13 Thread barry
Package: apache2-common

suexec2 is installed in /usr/lib/apache2/suexec2, however apache2ctl -V
shows that it's searching for a the binary in /bin/suexec, sounds mostly
like a wrong option when compiling, and should be easy to fix, though
when copying suexec2 from installed location to where it's being looked

 Hi...

Well, there's the problem. I'll need to get the config.log for this build -
it seems that either the version installed of libssl-dev is bogus, or
there's a test going wrong.
Either way, it doesn't happen on any other architecture.
Cheers,

2004-07-13 Thread Antoine Busch
Package: apache2-common
Version: 2.0.50-5
Followup-For: Bug #258713

It looks like grep -v ^ did not do the trick. Apparently, the wrapped
lines from the TERMCAP env variable must start with a tabulation and
thus are not filtered out.

Using grep -v ^[[:space:]] instead seems to work.
