Bug#392557: apache2.2-common does not include mod_authnz_ldap

2006-10-12 Thread Wolfgang Hennerbichler
Package: apache2.2-common
Version: 2.2.3-2
Severity: important

Apache2.2-common does not include an ldap authentication module anymore (I need
authnz-ldap). Why has this been removed from apache2.2-common? This is a
critical issue, as it renders my system unusable.

Bug#392646: apache2.2-common: doesn't start, child processes segfault

2006-10-12 Thread John Fry
Package: apache2.2-common
Version: 2.2.3-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Hi,

Since I upgraded to apache2 on unstable, apache fails to start after
trying to spawn a bunch of child processes. Here's a snippet from
/var/log/apache2/error.log:

[Thu Oct 12 10:32:55 2006] [notice] Apache/2.2.3 (Debian) configured --
resuming normal operations
[Thu Oct 12 10:32:56 2006] [notice] child pid 28906 exit signal Segmentation

[Thu Oct 12 10:33:00 2006] [notice] child pid 28965 exit signal Segmentation

This seems to be related to #392058 and #392189, although my apache
setup is much simpler than theirs (for example, no php).

Bug#392557: Can't reproduce

I can't reproduce this:

Change the uid (in /etc/passwd) of a user who has an active terminal.
When that user tries to run subversion (e.g. 'svn help'), it will
segfault.

Not really a showstopper, but subversion probably shouldn't segfault
here. The su command just exits with a Sorry message when the uid
is changed.

Bug#392557: Can't reproduce

2006-10-12 Thread Wolfgang Hennerbichler
You are right, I found it out in the mean time (somebody on nntp
helped me), please ignore this bug request, it's wrong. The postinst-
script did not put anything in /etc/apache2/mods-available in my
install-script, as far as I can tell. It DID put mod_authnz_ldap.so
in /usrlib/apache2/modules/. So I am safe, thanks for looking into
that. Please close the bug, or delete it, if you can - all my fault ;)

Bug#392701: apache 2.2 upgrade didn't notice AuthUserFile

2006-10-12 Thread Josip Rodin
Package: apache2
Version: 2.2.3-2
Severity: important

Hi,

After the upgrade, apache wouldn't start because of:

Invalid command 'AuthUserFile', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module
not included in the server configuration

The upgrade process should detect that an 'a2enmod authn_file' is required.
The file that included this setting on this site was in sites-enabled.

TIA.
