Bug#397405: apache2-mpm-prefork: child seg-faults on access

2006-11-06 Thread Lukas Ruf
Package: apache2-mpm-prefork
Version: 2.2.3-3
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear all,

after upgrading today, apache 2.2.3-3 is not working: on access, the
child returns a segmentation fault:

[Tue Nov 07 08:24:22 2006] [notice] child pid 17033 exit signal \
Segmentation fault (11)]

Any idea on how I can fix that?

Thanks very much for your support.

Lukas

you don't get it, that bug broke sam's configuration wich is RC. full
stop. the fact that it's usable for you does not matter, upgrades should
NOT break user's configuration.

My wild guess would be that they are using php4/5. And php4 got LFS
support with 4.4.4-5 and php5 is getting to be compiled with LFS for
5.2.0-1 which will be uploaded this evening if everything will be ok.

They don't fail for us.

Can you provide more information about what you are doing and how you
determined that stat() and filesize() are failing?

Thanks,
Peter

hi guys.

i know that the LFS must be enabled in PHP5, too, and almost all apache2
modules need to be ready to be shipped with apache2.2
but i need LFS. i'm doing some php stat()'s on files bigger than 2gb and it
always fails due to this missing support.

a few days ago i was upgrading from apache2 to 2.2 in hope that this has been
fixed, yet, but i'm still busted.

thanks for your attention.

Bug#397310: apache2: silently breaks website authentication

2006-11-06 Thread Sam Hocevar (Debian packages)
Package: apache2
Version: 2.2.3-3
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Upgrading apache2 this morning broke all websites using the "Require
valid-user" directive because the authz_user module was not (no longer?)
activated. No startup warning was issued, and only a cryptic "require
directives present and no Authoritative handler." message could be seen
in the logs upon access attempts.
