but the latest version is 5.1.6-4... can you try that?

this makes me suspect even further that this is the problem.  if you're
using nss-db which links against the same symbols and the badly-linked
version of php, i would suspect this.  please try with 5.1.6-4 and let
me know if you still have problems.

php?  there were some issues with libdb-linking that may have caused
segfaulting like what you describe.

if i don't hear back soon i'll downgrade the severity as it could
possibly interfere with sid-etch migration of the php packages.  the
release managers may chime in at some point as well.
