Re: [Fwd: Re: Mac SE/30 install problem]
Macintosh SE/30 32meg RAM BF 3.0.22 from macinstall.tar.gz off of ftp.debian.org tried both kernel from archive and mac sourceforge site boot parameters: root=/dev/ram Mitchell can you use a non-monochrome video mode on your mac? Not on the SE/30 - that's one of the 'fishtank' models (CPU and monitor in one case) and only has a b/w screen. Michael -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. help with translation?
Dear sir/madam, I have seen that you are looking for volunteers to translate the manuals. Well, I am italian and I am willing to help. But with two warnings: first I have never translated anything before, and second, I do not have so much time, working full time. What I therefore suggest is that I join another person or group and help them out. Is this of any help? Bug#144564: Should not we deprecate Packages in favour of Packages.gz?
Package: boot-floppies Version: 3.0.22-2002-04-03 A Release file created by hand made the boot floppies to complain in this way: no entry for main/binary-i386/Packages but there was an entry for main/binary-i386/Packages.gz. apt-ftparchive(1) is quite complex and not very easy to understand. I wish the boot floppies not to switch to mirror_style release (in debootstrap language) yet in woody, but if that's already decided, at least users should not be forced to have uncompressed Packages files, since they were not required at all in potato by APT and friends. [ The current status of things is some sort of step backwards ]. I haven't looked at the code, but it could be as simple as looking for main/binary-i386/Packages.gz, then looking for main/binary-i386/Packages if Packages.gz was not found, in that order. Thanks. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

patch for debian-boot/boot-floppies/scripts/rootdisk/messages/C/release_notes
I didn't want to step on anyone's toes by committing the following change without bringing it up here. There was a discussion on #debian-devel complaining about the use of the word 'unpaid' when referring to the debian developers. Below is a suggested change. I will commit it in a few days if there are no objections. In debian-boot/boot-floppies/scripts/rootdisk/messages/C/release_notes: - Debian's developers are unpaid volunteers from all around the world, + Debian is created by a worldwide team of over 900 volunteers collaborating via the Internet. We have formed the non-profit The main objection I can see is that all 21 translations would need to be updated. -- James (Jay) Treacy [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
