I agree. The issue exists with LVM and other setups too, and is nothing we can fix by avoiding long names in partman-crypto only. If it boils down to a question of aesthetics, I must say that cr_hda1 feels less aesthetically pleasing to me since it is less "discoverable" and expressive, thus closing. Max --- End Message ---
