Bug#871323: installation-reports: Successful with weekly. Daily 2017-07-31 failed. One line needs wrapping

2017-08-07 Thread Jens Reyer
Package: installation-reports
Severity: normal
Tags: newcomer

The installation with the mentioned installer worked quite fine.

Previously I tried the daily build (build date probably 2017-07-31): the
keyboard worked in the first screen for selecting the installation method (I
chose default), but no more in the language selection dialog. So I had to
abort that attempt.

With the weekly build there was only one minor issue (not sure where to report
this, d-i, debconf or partman-crypto):

The debconf question by partman-crypto was too long to be displayed on my
1920x1280 display, and was just cut off. So I read:

"The installer is now overwriting /dev/sda with random data to prevent meta-
information leaks from the encrypted volume. This step may be skipped by
cancelling this action, albeit at the expense of a slight red"

According to

 http://sources.debian.net/src/partman-crypto/90/debian/partman-
crypto.templates/?hl=193#L193

the rest of the line was:
"uction of the quality of the encryption."

Just tell me if I should make another test, or file separate bugs.

They were definitely nice-looking at release, I personally couldn't afford
one at that high price tag either but I would have waited anyway for some
nice games to come out.

Regardless, happy to see you have one now. :) You've got a lot of games to
catch up on, I guess! I dropped out of playing handhelds for a long time - I
bought a GBA at launch but didn't really like it all that much, I was more an
original GB/GBC kinda guy. The 3DS is definitely my favorite handheld
experience since then.

Subject: **HAPPY CAKE DAY!**

Our passing and movement is poor ,why take too long play the pass and when
we do ,we don't have enough options due to lack of movement.
This could be down to fatigue but that shouldn't be an excuse.

Not sure why falcao was subbed off ,it doesn't make sense , van persie
should have been the one to go ,he was poor all game offered very little in
attack , Mata seem to be the only one who offered a bit of creativity and he
wasn't even playing that good which says a lot .

We desperately need di Maria back ,his pace is need in the counter attack
and his creativity thoughout a match .

We just can't seem to break teams which sit back against us , we struggle
against teams that park the bus and play on the counter.

We need to play the game at a higher pace and pass a lot faster, we give our
opponent to much time to recover.

Evans is beyond awful , we lucky the stoke player missed the chance when he
gave away the ball ,but the entire game he was just awful, can't wait for
rojo to come back .

Sorry for the bad grammer , I was typing on my phone .

It wasn't the best of the prequels.

It was DARKER sure, but it wasn't even a passable movie. That year long fight
scene at the end is literally the worst thing I've ever seen on screen.

If it is only as good as Revenge of the Sith I will be severally disappointed

Bug#871255: -k added to tar prevents pre-loading of directory

2017-08-07 Thread Marc Haber
Package: debootstrap
Version: 1.0.91
Severity: normal

Hi,

this is related to #838388.

In my filter bubble, it is a rather common idiom to pre-load the
debootstrap directory with some contents, for example a
/usr/sbin/policy-rc.d file or the eatmydata lib if one wants eatmydata
to be effective already during the deboostrap process. This is no longer
possible when the set of pre-loaded contents contains files that are
also in a package, since the unpacking step bombs out instead of
overwriting the file.

The eatmydata case is particularly annoying since not having eatmydata
in the chroot from the very beginning will increase the run time of
debootstrap noticeably.

Please consider implementing the usrmerge process a bit less invasive.

Greetings
Marc
