Nod, it's definitely time that elilo went away.

Sure, but we don't want to point anything to it before it is there :)

It was just discussed on #debian-ports that it's being moved there.

kfreebsd* are not there yet.

I have submitted to

an update.

This seems outdated.

Ports-architecture should be:

alpha hppa hurd-i386 ia64 kfreebsd-i386 kfreebsd-amd64 m68k powerpc powerpcspe
ppc64 riscv64 sh4 sparc64 x32

We also have the problem that Debian Ports mirrors do not show up
in the mirror list which overwhelms many users when installing one
of the ports architectures unfortunately.

In the top-level Makefile:

MIRRORLISTURL=https://salsa.debian.org/mirror-team/masterlist/raw/master/Mirrors.masterlist

so get the mirror list updated on the mirror side, and it'll get synced

Hello,

I don't know the file generation details, but Mirrors.masterlist
currently doesn't include Ports-architecture:, while it does support it,
and I guess it would be preferred to get load balancing.

(of course, Bug#879130 needs to be resolved to get it to actually show
up)

Clarifying a bit:

The installer team is responsible for a vast amount of packages building
udebs, but is not responsible for the GTK stack, or the X.Org stack, or
systemd, or many other components building udebs.

(But we're always happy to be kept in the loop for changes related to
udebs.)

This was a request from ftpmaster so that they had a contact point for
each package in the case of any problems. If they're happy for this
requirement to be removed for d-i packages, we're happy to update Policy
accordingly. Presumably the d-i team is the contact for anything related
to udebs, so that may fulfill their requirement. (If they're unhappy, we
should talk more about it.)

Bug#923675: debian-installer: consider using haveged to gather entropy

Holger Levsen (2019-04-22):
> heh. what was the reason haveged was choosen and not
> jitterentropy-rngd which was also suggested here?

I have enough things to keep me busy; if the first one I look at can be
turned into something useful in d-i, seems to have reasonable integration
and maintenance costs, and has a maintainer who is happy to let me modify
the packaging accordingly, then it's unlikely I'll spend more time looking
at an alternative.

Not that I wouldn't appreciate such a comparison in theory; in practice,
time is limited. If others want to compare both, feel free to.

Hi,

I've added debian-policy@l.d.o to recipients as I believe this either
warrants an exception for debian installer packages or maybe this should
be redfined for all.

I've not really made up my mind of what I think about the general case,
I do think there are some merrits knowing/documenting human maintainers.

I also do think that this doesnt make that much sense for d-i packages.

(And I also think that policy should be changed (and not merely ignored)
if we find that we disagree with whats written in it.)

Shall I file a bug against debian-policy?

Christian Perrier has retired, so can't work on
the partman-btrfs package anymore (at least with this address).

We are tracking their status in the MIA team and would like to ask you
to remove them from the Uploaders list of the package so we can close
that part of the file.

(If the person is listed as Maintainer, what we are asking is to please
step in as a new maintainer.)

Thanks.
