O: udhcp -- very small DHCP client

2008-10-27 Thread Luca Bruno
Citing from udhcp upstream website:
«Note that the standalone udhcp client/server is not maintained anymore.
It was moved to busybox. Use the udhcp in busybox instead. (The rest of
this page was last updated in 2003 and is now obsolete).»

It looks like this source package could be dropped, if QA team wants.
Popcon report 122/143 install; busybox maintainers could consider
providing binary packages for this, if feasible.

Ciao, Luca

lilo failure with LVM, ubuntu's workaround in lilo-installer

2008-09-29 Thread Luca Bruno
reopen 398957
thanks

It looks like the bug has been closed by a spam mail :(, so I'm
reopening it.
Anyway I've just seen it on a recent Lenny netinstall (at
least I think, I was in a hurry so no time for problem inspection).

Searching the net, I've found a similar problem workarounded by ubuntu
in lilo-installer with the patch attached at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lilo-installer/+bug/105631
and not yet merged in lenny's package.

Cheers, Luca

Question: are all the PNGs currently included in your tarball
actually used? Could any of them be left out?

IIRC there are still some of them which can be stripped down, but
first I need to see which icons and pixmaps are needed by the new
graphical partitioner.

I can't remember where I got it from, but I remember
the site contained unofficial udebs; the wiki ([2])
says that an udeb has been uploaded on 19th April but
 apt-cache search shows no results.

Maybe this:

[G-I] progress in theming

2006-03-22 Thread Luca Bruno
Hi,
I've done some work in G-i theming.
A first draft of normal theme is complete, and you can find it here:
[1] http://luca.nipl.net/Bladr.tar.gz
Anyway it won't work with current G-I build, as some
libs are still missing. I checked it with an ad-hoc iso[1] and those
are some screenshots:

http://img492.imageshack.us/my.php?image=netcfgusedhcp19jb.png
http://img213.imageshack.us/my.php?image=netcfgusedhcp07rc.png

Any comments?

Now, I'd like to work on visual-impaired theme.
Attilio suggested me to work on HighContrastLargePrintInverse theme,
available in gnome-themes. I've tried also HighContrastLargePrint.
I am not yet able to make screenshot of them in G-I, but I've tested
both in my desktop environment. I wear glasses sicne child because I've
problem viewing in long distances (miope), my view there is half than a
normal man, and I found that HighContrastLargePrint is more comfortable
to me. But in short distance I've no problem, so I don't know which of
these two themes is the best for real visual impaired people.
Please, can somebody (maybe more expert than me) test them both and make
some comments on this issue?

Cheers, Luca

[1] This server is really in a bad shape, can somebody mirror this file
somewhere else?

About the icons: we only need 4 or 5 icons, IIRC, and maybe a
camera icon for the screenshot button would be useful.

As I told you in a previous mail, I will wait to see which icons are
used in the graphical partitioner before stripping superflous icons.

Now, a question: how are we going to package GTK theme(s): into a
 separate udeb or into rootskel-gtk?

Please note that accessibility themes are already packaged in
gnome-accessibility-themes. I've never made and udeb, but if needed I
can try to provide one for Bladr theme. Just say so :)
