Bug#432797: system does not reboot automatically after fresh installation
Package: debian-installer Version: Taken from unstable svn co svn://svn.debian.org/svn/d-i/trunk debian-installer I did a gui installation from the latest build cd.I took the debian-installer from svn unstable. The whole installation went well and the cd came out and at the finish of installation the system did not reboot by itself. It stoped at a white screen.I could not wait anymore and restarted manually and everything was fine.I got the grub and was able to boot into my new os. Next time I did the same in text mode and had no issues the system rebooted by itself and I landed in my new os. When I repeated the gui mode of installation to check something at the finish of installation.as soon as the white screen appeared i restarted the pc manually. And saw that grub did not get loaded properly It stopped at grub> then I entered into the new os by giving the partition and kernel name and initrd. second time when I rebooted showed no problem and the grub was loaded automatically I dont know how this time grub got loaded. What could be the reason of getting the white screen and how can I make it to reboot in gui mode. Get the freedom to save as many mails as you wish. Bug#430545: Display goes off at the mid of installation
Package: debian-installer Version: Taken from unstable svn co svn://svn.debian.org/svn/d-i/trunk debian-installer The installation goes fine till the configuring of xserver-xorg phase and suddenly the display goes off and shows blank screen with boxes that are unreadable but the progress bar still seems to move and the installation finishes successfully and cd comes out. These things happen only in text mode of installation In GUI way of installation the installation goes fine till the same stage and suddenly shows installation failed at the configuration phase as in text mode of installtion.
