After the reboot, I had to jet out to a normal console, modprobe the yenta_socket module to get the NEC Versa LX's Ricoh rl5c478 cardbus hardware to detect & configure, and then I could modprobe the Xircom module. After that DHCP worked fine and the rest of the install went without a hitch; I'd have been lost if I didn't know anything about linux though. Maybe something can be done about detecting the Versa LX's cardbus hardware automatically? Overally, seems to be a linux hardware support issue and not a Debian installer issue. The installer is great and seems to work very well. I was very pleased. Peace, Fred ------------------- Frederick A.
