I've always considered this to be an inadverdant feature, I know it is
used by experienced users who do not want to install anything, or who
only want to install standard priority packages.

incosistent, secret, automatic package selection depending on
tasksel/aptitude/nothing.

Entering tasksel and not selecting anything will install MANY packages.
Selecting not to install any thing at the menu will still install SOME
packages. etc.

So basicly the result of the install is dependent on the path taken,
even though one hasn`t added anything.
