Bug#240721: debian-installer-demo: localisation set during install is not active afterwards

2004-04-04 Thread C. Gatzemeier

additional information:
When choosing a keymap (again!) during base-config and selecting qwertz and
then german the F1-F12 and other non alpha-numerical keys do not work.

I found out that by re-running dpkg-reconfigure console-data and selecting
kemap from complete list the situation is somewhat improved. Still
page-up/down, and the smaler/lager than, and pipe characters don't work.

(PC, non USB, qwertz, german, nodeadkeys)

Bug#240721: debian-installer-demo: localisation set during install is not active afterwards

2004-03-28 Thread Christian Gatzemeier
Package: debian-installer-demo
Version: beta3
Severity: normal

Installed beta3 and then chose desktop-environment from tasksel.

localisation set during install is not active afterwards

The settings seem to get messed up again later.

-- needed to run dpkg--reconfigure locales
(and there was no default set) to get apps speak german.

-- Keyboard on virtual consoles german but wrong. i.e. Alt-F[1-12] do
not work and you are trapped in there once you leave X.
I think this has been due to the console-data package that got installed
after leaving base-config package-tool selection for whatever reason.

-- In X itself the keyboard has is english. The installation does not
seem to have picked up on system settings.
