Comments/Problems:
Selected install options:
Language "English", Country "United Kingdom", keymap "American English"
Packages "Laptop + Standard System"
"Local only" Exim config.
Mirror country "UK", Mirro "debian.hands.com", no proxy
Selected 3 existing partitions for /, /usr, /var
Notes.
1. still required 'install libata.atapi_enabled=1' to detect CD
could this perhaps be added to the "special boot parameters
various hardware" F6 page?
2. Intel IW2200 wireless device still not supported for install
3. Mouse type selection for built in pointing devices is difficult
without hardware detection help...
Why two levels of selection? On one screen I selected "/dev/psaux"
and on the next I selected "auto"
4. On rebooting after first stage of install, only a console login
appears. There is still no working X windows system.
5. xorg.conf still has wrong driver (was vesa, should be i810), and
wrong keyboard (was "gb", but should be "us"). During install my
geographic location was entered as GB, but keyboard layout entered
as US.
6. This time, after performing
apt-get install x-window-system-core x-window-system
I could start an X server, but there were still not enough components
to start a basic xdm based session.
Running 'startx' produced an X display with the message:
"Xsession: unable to start X session --- no "/root/.xsession" file,
no "/root/Xsession" file, no session managers, no windows managers,
and no terminal emulators found; aborging."

Don't think so as this parameter is only needed temporarily until upstream
kernel developers decide to enable it by default. It is already
sufficiently documented elsewhere.
> 2. Intel IW2200 wireless device still not supported for install
That's expected I think (probably non-free driver or firmware required).
The rest of the issues are Xorg related. As documented in [1] Xorg is
currently undergoing major changes which may influence installation. If
you need help getting it working, please ask on debian-user. We will look
at Xorg installation issues again after things have stabilized.
Closing your report as the installation inself was successful. Thanks for
testing again.
Cheers,
FJP
