It surprised me there was no graphical installer.


At present date, g-i on PPC is still far from being in a good enough 
shape to be used as any sort of "official" installer.
What needs to be done is rebuilding cairo and gtk against new dfb 1.0.1 
in experimental and produce a PPC miniiso like Jeremy did for i386, to 
see how the new version of our windowing system behaves on PPCs.

I wonder if a call for testing should be posted on debian-powerpc ?

Yes!  Please do.  I can test on a variety of PowerPC Mac hardware.   
I'm sure there are others as well.
