Bug#536683: console-setup: Installation/upgrade freezes when non-standard XKBLAYOUT used
Hi there. severity 536683 serious bye On Jul 12 2009, Tibor Zenis wrote: > installation fails if the XKBLAYOUT (/etc/default/console-setup or > /etc/X11/xorg.conf) is set to a non-standard value (sk_tz in my case). > Process "/var/lib/dpkg/info/console-setup.config configure" starts up > too many (> 1000 per second) processes (grep, sed, sort) with no > symptoms of progress. Unfortunately, I also see this problem and I can't install the new X packages, since they depend on console-setup (or the smaller version of it), but it just hangs there in the configuration phase, spawning new processes and there is starvation in the installation. BTW, I tested with many keyboard layouts not with "non-standard" and I never had any success. Thus, I'm raising the severity of this bug. If more information is desired, please let me know. Bug#536683: console-setup: Installation/upgrade freezes when non-standard XKBLAYOUT used
Package: console-setup Version: 1.44 Severity: normal Hi, installation fails if the XKBLAYOUT (/etc/default/console-setup or /etc/X11/xorg.conf) is set to a non-standard value (sk_tz in my case). Process "/var/lib/dpkg/info/console-setup.config configure" starts up too many (> 1000 per second) processes (grep, sed, sort) with no symptoms of progress.
