I think lxde shouldn't use NetworkManager by default. It's Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment, and use wicd instead. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-boot-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? i don't know why tasksel uses lxde-core, but, if you would depend on lxde instead, you would get network-manager-gnome that the lxde maintainers in debian recommend for their users. -- Address:Daniel Baumann, Donnerbuehlweg 3, CH-3012 Bern Email: daniel.baum...@progress-technologies.net Internet: http://people.progress-technologies.net/~daniel.baumann/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-boot-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#571204: tasksel: Does not install network management software for LXDE
Package: tasksel Version: 2.81 Severity: normal Hi, AFAICT of the four desktop environments that Debian offers to install from installations CDs, LXDE is currenly the only one that does not ship with network management software. In GNOME, network-manager-gnome is pulled in via recommends of the gnome meta-package. In KDE network-manager-kde is installed via the kde-desktop task. Finally in XFCE wicd is installed in the xfce-desktop task. I recommend to do the same for the lxde-desktop task.
