Yep. AIUI this happens because ./debian/localechooser.templates-in
has Choices-C cases, such as Choices-C: ${CODES} for
localechooser/languagelist. I don't really understand why this is so:
using ${NAMES_EN} should be completely fine, shouldn't it?

Well, using the text installer I'm getting the attached screenshot by default, and I think it's as clear as the gtk version. "None" which you mentioned initially wouldn't be a language either, so I fail to see how that would help. Finally, I'm not sure why you're insisting we drop support for non- localized installations. Package: debian-installer Severity: normal It was just pointed out in a LCA2014 presentation that it's a bit silly to ask the user to choose the language between "C" and "English".
