Georgian part of the screenshot looks much better in 2.9 than it did in 2.7

AFAICT it is fine; see
http://lists.debian.org/debian-boot/2006/09/msg00431.html

I've also closed ##370150 which seems fixed with version 1.5

Nice work.

For Japanese, we still have a problem about Chinese characters are used
instead of Japanese characters when they are using same unicode codepoint.
(hm, did I forget to submit it to BTS..?)

But well, it's readable for us.

BTW, I hope the issue "Subject: I met some issue for Daily Etch installer"
raised by Yukiharu is already solved by my last upload of cjkfont.

Thanks,

looks like the screenshots you provided were taken using the old
graphic libraries (2.0.9); g-i switched to much newer libraries
(2.8.x) after beta3 was released.

I grabbed a screenshot [1] of the main menu using a daily iso (see [2])
and it looks to me like the problem you describe is fixed; I tried it
also with a patched version of the graphic libraries (which fixes the
vertical line on the top-right side of the screen) and it still seems ok (see
[3])

Davide

The font size is different in the screenshots and, thus I can't tell
if the "half of breve" issue has gone.

Debian and in particular for the new graphical installer.

Since the last survey, this is the list of major changes:

 * graphic libraries have been updated
 * default fontsize has been increased
 * dejavu2.9 has been used (last time we used 2.7)
 * #374902 was fixed with a new upload of libfreetype6-udeb_2.2.1-4_i386.udeb

the screenshots can be found in [2], and in case you wanted to compare them to
the

feedback is very welcome

Bengali looks good. It will be better, if you can increase the font size. ;)

It's not only in German...

Looks like the gtk frontend does indeed add three extra periods after the
string that is taken from debconf:

gtk.c, line 1794:
sprintf(progress_bar_label_string," %s...",info);

Fix committed in SVN. Thanks for spotting this.

I compared [2] and [3] and both look similar. Nevertheless I miss a
problem in the pictures which I reported already for beta 3:

I get .. instead of ... in the graphical installer for German. Is
this a font problem or does the graphical installer just add additional
ellipses?

good; Hebrew is still using glyphs out of freefont.
Hebrew glyphs have just been included in dejavu: any chance you can give some
feedback about it? I'll try to get some screenshots to compare them in the next
days
