Re: sarge-install onto Thinkpad
I would certainly be interested in discussing XFS support for d-i with anyone willing to help work on it. I might be persuaded to put together maintained kernel images using the XFS patch, if there was enough overall interest to support a full d-i build and make the effort worthwhile. Someone just asked me for an install CD that did XFS. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

sarge-install onto Thinkpad
Howdy all, I recently wiped my partition table (accidentally... ugh... don't ask) and figured now might be a good time to do a fresh install of Debian onto an otherwise Linux-happy laptop (IBM Thinkpad A21p). Since I want to install Sarge directly, it was suggested to me that I write to debian-boot and ask about it. I found http://www.debian.org/CD/netinst/ and was going to just follow the directions for the testing net-boot CD, but figured I'd check here first. So... above and beyond creating said net-boot CD, is there anything I need to know? The networking for the laptop is via. a PCMCIA card (DLink something; ne-2000 compatible, if I remember right). Thanks! Bibek -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Ah. Thanks. :-) Is there anything special I need to know about using XFS, or using XFS for boot? - Bob On Mon, 3 Nov 2003, Joey Hess wrote: debian-installer is not 100% there for pcmcia, you will need to manually install pcmcia-cs and the pcmcia-modules for your kernel from the CD after the install. -- see shy jo -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
