jessie-kfreebsd isn't actually released yet, but I think it will be

I'm not sure where security updates will go; possibly into that same

kfreebsd repositories vanished after Jessie official release

2015-04-26 Thread Gianluca Bonetti
Hello people!

Today, I cannot update my Debian/kFreeBSD systems (1 phisical, 1 VM)
because the repositories vanished after the official release of
Jessie.
What are the repositories to use from now on?
I googled, but found nothing.
I also took a look at debian.net and debian-ports.org but there aren't.

Thank you
Best regards
gl

Those packages should be already available in the new repository.
ftp-master kindly copied the packages there a few days ago.

kFreeBSD was in pretty good shape until two days ago.
This seems quite a boycott to a project of very high value.

It is in good shape. Debian's ftp-master, install+CD, security teams
and DSA have been still helping us to make a release of jessie-kfreebsd,
which maybe could happen in two weeks or so.

Hello Steven
Thank you for the feedback

I hope that all the compiled packages has been migrated somewhere so
the repository will be online soon.
If I ever thought it could happen, I would have done a mirror of that
on an OVH VPS.

When will the repository be online?

Preparations for jessie-kfreebsd release

2015-04-26 Thread Steven Chamberlain
Hi,

I'm glad to hear we have a jessie-kfreebsd suite set up:
https://lists.debian.org/20150426144240.ga12...@pyro.eu.org

and it works already with the now-official mirror redirector
(http.debian.net - httpredir.debian.org).

Was there any progress in getting security builds to trigger? And
which queue/suite will those go into?

I'll be looking at adapting debian-installer to use the new respository
URLs, and fixing some remaining d-i issues. I'd like to make some kind
of BETA release similar to what debian-edu are doing.

I did some linux d-i image testing using lots of real hardware on
jessie release day, and I'll do the same for the kfreebsd images. Many
people can help out with this once there is some kind of BETA, and we
have more time to fix bugs before releasing.

Re: kfreebsd repositories vanished after Jessie official release

2015-04-26 Thread Gianluca Bonetti
I did a fresh install from daily installer on a VirtualBox VM.
Install goes fine, base system, grub, reboot.
At reboot, I put the new sources.list in the system, and try an apt-get update
I get no errors, but waiting for headers until forever.

apt-get sits waiting for http headers until forever, but wget works on
http, at least on local net server.
I first tried to update apt package by downloading the package on
another system, then wgetting on the fresh install VM.
apt package updated, still not working.
So I updated the kfreebsd-image also by downloading on another system,
then wgetting on fresh VM.
Install updated kfreebsd-image-10.1, reboot, apt-get update works.

I can reply on my system to have a second test, if you like.

Bye

These packages were removed from jessie-kfreebsd suite sometime between:

2015-04-26 Thread Steven Chamberlain
Hi Ansgar,

Ansgar Burchardt wrote:

AIUI that suite was pre-populated some days ago with a snapshot of
jessie. But I've noticed a few packages missing; lists attached.
Have you any ideas why?

I computed these from a zdiff between:

http://snapshot.debian.org/archive/debian/20150424T154007Z/dists/jessie/main/binary-kfreebsd-amd64/Packages.gz
and
http://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/jessie-kfreebsd/main/binary-kfreebsd-amd64/Packages.gz

http://snapshot.debian.org/archive/debian/20150424T154007Z/dists/jessie/main/binary-kfreebsd-i386/Packages.gz
and
http://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/jessie-kfreebsd/main/binary-kfreebsd-i386/Packages.gz

Some are kfreebsd-specific packages so there is probably an obvious
reason they were missed. But some are unrelated to kfreebsd with
nothing obvious in common.

Thanks,

Until that is fixed, it may help to also add to your sources.list:

Security updates are building already! And they're on the regular

This is much appreciated!
