Thank you! I'll make uploads today for the most important remaining
bugs in d-i. May then be able to make a release candidate of netboot
images, but I'd like to set up some automated testing (like ho1ger's
jekins.d.n *was* doing but they had to turn it off).

(busybox wget was the cause of random 'failed to download' messages
during kfreebsd installs, and especially breaking preseed installs).

mount failure messages

2015-08-13 Thread Christoph Egger
Hi all!

Some note, from DSA:

oh btw: when mounting stuff fails at boot, you get a shell with /
mounted ro. then you try to remount it rw (so you can fix fstab),
but that fails silently if you don't fsck first. it'd be nice to
have some kind of message from mount or the kernel when it doesn't
want to do what you ask.

Guess I can try to look at it some time.

Bug#795354: freebsd-utils: init script fails on ZFS root

2015-08-13 Thread Steven Chamberlain
Package: freebsd-utils
Version: 10.1~svn273304-1
Severity: normal
Tags: pending

Hi,

The freebsd-utils init script can fail on first boot of a newly-
installed system, trying to point /etc/mtab to /proc/mounts, in
the case of a ZFS root that is read-only until after the zfs init
script has run.

sysvinit already handles /etc/mtab now, after making the rootfs
writable, so we don't need to do this here.
