Uhm unfortunately it seems that past weekly builds are not stored, so this build will be eventually removed. Anyway, it installs Wheezy which is not what the majority of users want (Wheezy is very unstable on kfreebsd-*). -- Robert Millan -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bsd-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Is there any netinst image that currently works? We can't just put information about "good mini.iso" in the wiki because installability doesn't only depend on the mini.iso version, as you've just verified. However, a netinst image is always capable of self-contained install. -- Robert Millan -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bsd-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? An uncomfortably naive formulation as I now understand, but Robert's reply got me into investigating the cause of the installer problem! The good news is that as of this night, having seen #643950 closed by NMU of Julien Christau, the debian-installer now indeed is able to install kfreebsd-amd64 from Sid! So the opportunity is there: Take the installer for a spin. I am running it on kfreebsd-amd64 with ZFS, and so forth. My run uses the d-i snapshot 2011-09-29 as I had it handy. Squeeze images should always work. Daily builds are prone to break, it's a cumbersome task to keep track of them. Feel free to help, the wiki is probably a good place, but please don't encourage users to run daily builds. People who do this are supposed to know what they're doing. > This evening I have had a go with snapshot 2009-09-29 > and it is kind of embarrasing that the bzcat problem > still is the showstopper. I'd rather spend the time fixing the actual problems first. This bzcat issue sounds a lot like #633782. Any tracking of good mini-iso images?
Dear all! Are we keeping some record of functional mini-iso images that we can name as pointers for people interested to have a go with kfreebsd-any? This evening I have had a go with snapshot 2009-09-29 and it is kind of embarrasing that the bzcat problem still is the showstopper. For similar reasons it could be useful to have a list mentioning some images known to be successful. Now that ZFS works in the installer, the present situation is annoying.
