Package: banshee
Version: 2.6.1-5
Severity: normal

When trying to play an XVID video in an avi file (served over the
network using mediatomb), I get this dialog:

 | The parameters passed to the application had an invalid format. Please file
a bug!
 |
 | The parameters were:
 | --transient-for=77594640
 | gstreamer|1.0|Banshee|MPEG-4 Video decoder|decoder-video/mpeg,
mpegversion=(int)4, systemstream=(boolean)false, parsed=(boolean)true,
profile=(string)advanced-simple, level=(string)5

Audio plays, but video doesn't. The same happened when I tried to
play a H264 video in an mkv file, but this time with a slightly
different error dialog:

 | The parameters passed to the application had an invalid format. Please file
a bug!

Package: banshee
Version: 2.6.2-6.1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
Discovered banshee would crash when importing any media last month

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
Disabled all plugins (bpm detection turned off), rescanned library, deleted
~/.config/banshee-1/, downgraded to previous version of this package (2.6.2-6),
tried older versions of libsqlite3-0, tried importing different files such as
mp3 and flac

   * What was the outcome of this action?
Crashes every time, see output:

Package: banshee
Version: 2.9.1-3
Severity: normal
Tags: experimental

Hi,

It seems that banshee 2.9.1-3 was built against the wrong version of
glib2.0 on amd64 when it was uploaded.

The amd64 binary contains:
 Depends: libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.43.3)
But the binaries for all the other architectures contain:
 Depends: libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.42.1)

Since glib 2.43.3 is failing to build on i386 at the moment, this means
I can't upgrade to the latest version of banshee as I have other
packages depending on the i386 version of glib.

I'm guessing this was caused by compiling banshee in a forced
experimental chroot. This is incorrect, since all the buildds actually
compile experimental packages in unstable chroots (with the experimental
source pinned at priority 1).

Thanks,
James

As announced [1], we do not intend to release Debian 10 "Buster" with
the old libgnome (and related) libraries. These libraries have been
deprecated and unmaintained for several years.

Your package depends and or build-depends on these libraries:

- gconf

gconf has been replaced by dconf / gsettings.

Please port your package to GTK3 and related maintained libraries.
Otherwise, please consider requesting that your package be removed from
Debian to help us complete this goal.

Package: banshee
Version: 2.6.1-3
Severity: important

If a file in the playlist can't be opened the volume is set to 100% before
Banshee continues playing the next available file.

The bug seems to be identical to the one mentiones here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/banshee/+bug/64460
Launchpad states the bug to be fixed in 2008. But seems to be back in Debian
now.

Using MATE.
The default notification theme "nodoka" works well with banshee.
But when I chose theme "coco" the banshee "This song is now playing"
notification is halfway out of the screen in the low-right corner.
It should have appeared in the same position as the "nodoka" themed
notifications

Dear Maintainer,

while using Banshee from the experimental repository, I cannot see any sidebar
entries apart from titles. Starting banshee from a command line, I get
following message (at startup, and repeatedly when selecting one of the
invisible entries):

[Warn 12:19:19.032] Buggy CSS theme: same background-color for .cell:selected
and .cell

I tried several environments:

- - Gnome 3 with several Theme settings (dark/light, different Gtk themes)
- - i3wm, also using different Gtk themes

Otherwise I'm on Debian 8 Jessie, all packets freshly dist-upgraded.

Regards,
Jens

Dear Maintainer,

Attempted to sync banshee library to ipod classic. Library contains .mp3
and .m4a tracks originally downloaded to computer from iPod (regular fw).
Banshee attempts to convert the .mp3 files to .mp3 format at this point
whilst syncing them to the ipod. There's evidently no need for this.

sysinfo was removed from Debian Testing a year ago because it doesn't
run. It also depends on gnome-sharp2. gnome-sharp2 is one of several
packages preventing the removal of libgnome from Debian.

Therefore, I intend to file a removal bug for sysinfo. Please let me
know promptly if you agree or object.

We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

   sysinfo | 0.7-10.1 | source, all

--- Reason ---
RoQA; unmaintained, depends on ancient GNOME libraries
--

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive and will not propagate to any mirrors until the next
dinstall run at the earliest.

Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is
really needed, please contact them if this should be the case.

We try to close bugs which have been reported against this package
automatically. But please check all old bugs, if they were closed
correctly or should have been re-assigned to another package.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 910...@bugs.debian.org.

Dear Maintainer,

Bug is quite repeatable. Simply start up Banshee. Move cursor to the left
playlist panel (with Music and your playlists). Scroll with mouse button or
two-fingers or whatever. Works fine. Move cursor to Artists pane or Album pane
or songs pane. All of them do not scroll. I must manually click on the scroll
bar or press up and down to "scroll" through the list. I would have expected
scrolling to work in all 4 panes.
