No, like
smtp_accept_queue_per_connection = 10
which is indeed the default setting

Hi,

Is there any chance you could try this build again?
I suspect that it was a temporary problem with gjdoc which may have now been
fixed.

thanks

Bug#316156: 2.10 version of libglade-java needed

2005-07-16 Thread Mark Howard
Just an update on this -
I did make a 2.10.1-1 package a while ago and uploaded it. Something went wrong
with the upload and any further uploads have been rejected. I've created a -2
version to try to fix this, but cannot currently build and upload it in a clean
way due to kaffe uninstallability in a chrooot.
I'll keep trying..
Sorry for the delay.

This sounds like some sort of corruption on your system or your
mirror. I seriously doubt it has anything to do with the automake
package itself.

Subject: first official version of dbconfig-common now in unstable
X-Mailing-List: archive/latest/196100

hello folks,

i'm happy to announce that after somewhere close to 8 months of
development and testing, dbconfig-common is now uploaded to unstable
and ready for widespread use by other packages in debian.

if you've missed out on my previous discussions about what dbconfig-
common

can do, here's what's in debian/control:

dbconfig-common presents a policy and implementation for
managing various databases used by applications included in
 debian packages.
 .
 dbconfig-common can:
  * support mysql and postgresql based applications
  * create databases and database users
  * access local or remote databases
  * upgrade/modify databases when upstream changes database structure
  * remove databases and database users
  * generate config files in many formats with the database info
  * import configs from packages previously managing databases on
their own

  * prompt users with a set of normalized, pre-translated questions
  * handle failures gracefully, with an option to retry.
  * do all the hard work automatically
  * work for package maintainers with little effort on their part
  * work for local admins with little effort on their part
  * comply with an agreed upon set of standards for behaviour
  * do absolutely nothing if it is the whim of the local admin
  * perform all operations from within the standard flow of debian
package maintenance (no additional skill is required of the local
admin)

so if you maintain a package that has to deal with mysql/postgresql
databases and you're tired of having to deal with home-rolled,
obfuscated,

complicated, and/or buggy code, i highly suggest you check it out!

i would love to hear back from those who start using in their packages.
please send any questions/comments/complaints/bugs to the dbconfig-

It's not entirely clear, are you saying that you only have these
problems with mozilla-tabextensions? If that's the case then this bug
report should be with mozilla-tabextensions. Putting a conflict on it
is just silly. The API provided to extension writers is not very
stable, so it tends to break on new version. Extension packages should
probably have pretty tight dependencies to avoid these sorts of
problems.

Package: fluxbox
Version: 0.9.12-1
Severity: important

I just made a fresh install using sarge netinst cdrom, then upgraded to

I did 'apt-get install x-window-system-core', then 'apt-get install
fluxbox menu xterm'.

When i run 'startx' it launch xorg with xterm as a client...
'update-alternative --config x-window-manager' tells me: 'No
alternatives for x-window-manager'.

'startx fluxbox' works, but it also launch an xterm showing anything
that happens.

So the point is: fluxbox works, but i'd like to act as the other
window-managers (using alternative and co)

Thanks.

Bug#285058: ace-of-penguins: FTBFS (amd64/gcc-4.0): static declaration of 'table_width' follows non-static declaration

2005-07-16 Thread Steve Langasek
Hi Thimo,

I have prepared an NMU for this bug, based on Andreas's patch. The diff is
attached, and the NMU will be uploaded shortly.

It looks to me like this bug really points to a need for this code to be
refactored so that the game's variables *don't* overlap those from the
shared library, but I think that's also out of scope for an NMU. :)

Cheers,

Bug#318692: xlibs-dev: compat package doesn't depend on libs formerly in xlibs-static-dev

2005-07-16 Thread Steve Langasek
Package: xlibs-dev
Version: 6.8.2.dfsg.1-2
Severity: serious

The current version of xlibs-dev is not fully backwards-compatible with
previous versions built from xfree86, because in the xorg tree a number of
packages have been split out of the xlibs-static-dev package, e.g.,
libxxf86vm-dev. Packages that previously had a build-dependency on
xlibs-dev only now FTBFS; if the intention is to break backwards
compatibility, I think it would be better to drop the xlibs-dev package
altogether, otherwise these libs should be re-added to the dependencies of
xlibs-dev.

Bug#318690: libhoard: non-dev library package contains .so file

2005-07-16 Thread Steve Langasek
Package: libhoard
Version: 2.1.0-3
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 8.4

The libhoard package contains a libhoard.so file which is *not* a symlink to
libhoard.so.*. This violates all the rules governing shared library
packaging; it makes it impossible to properly support installation of
multiple concurrent versions of the shared library, and it means that
installing future versions of -dev packages will force removal of any
packages dynamically linked with this libhoard.so. These
forward-compatibility issues make libhoard 2.1.0-3 unsuitable for inclusion
in a stable release.

Either libhoard must have a properly versioned soname and be split into -dev
and runtime packages, or the shared library must be dropped completely from
the package.

Bug#318689: ethereal: libcap patch in 315670 does not check for non-root user before trying to drop caps

2005-07-16 Thread Paul Hampson
Package: ethereal
Version: 0.10.11-2
Severity: normal

The patch in #315670 doesn't check if it _has_ CAP_NET_RAW before it
tries to drop others. When run as non-root, it is actually an attempt
to _gain_ the capability, and therefore fails:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ethereal
Could not set capabilities: Operation not permitted
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

I can't say off hand how to do this _right_, but I suspect the function
dropexcesscapabilities() should checkif CAP_NET_RAW is held before it
tries to drop capabilities, and either do nothing or drop _all_
capabilities if CAP_NET_RAW is not already held.

Bug#318688: x11-common: conffile prompts for /etc/X11/Xsession* when replacing xfree86-common

2005-07-16 Thread Steve Langasek
Package: x11-common

When installing x11-common on my existing sid system that had the latest
xfree86-common installed, I was presented with conffile prompts for
/etc/X11/Xsession and /etc/X11/Xsession.options even though I have never
edited them. This is probably because dpkg doesn't know an md5sum for a
previous version of these conffiles *associated with the x11-common
package*, since they previously belonged to xfree86-common. You will
probably need to detect unmodified versions of the xfree86-common
conffiles in x11-xorg's preinst, and remove them so that they're not in
the way when dpkg goes to install the new conffiles.

Unfortunately I cannot test this yet, I don't know how to get

I think FriBidi is being passed escape sequences. Not sure. You

who added FriBidi support to d-i.

Bug#318686: libgnomevfs2-common: privoxy's use of "Transfer-Encoding: identity" breaks libneon, vfs2, gweather-applet

2005-07-16 Thread Michael Shields
Package: libgnomevfs2-common
Version: 2.10.1-5
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

When privoxy receives a page using Transfer-Encoding: chunked, and then
de-chunks it for filtering, it changes the header to "identity". This
value of the header was included in RFC 2616 by mistake; the working group
meant to pull it out. See
and the http-wg mailing list archives for discussion of this.

Specifically, this breaks the libneon that is bundled with vfs2,
and therefore gweather-applet. I am reporting a bug (#318683) against
Privoxy also, with a patch to cause it not to send this header. However,
I believe that libneon is also at fault for assuming that any T-E header
implies the chunked encoding it asked for. The attached patch makes
vfs2 tolerant of code that implemented the RFC as published.

This is most likely a bug in the XVideo driver for your graphics card. The
fact that both MPlayer and Ogle show the same symptoms makes it extremely
unlikely that xine-lib (which is used by the other players) is at fault.

You can try to use an alternative output driver, at least with the xine
based players, to work around the problem. For xine-ui, try the command
line option "-V xshm" for software rendering. While the symptoms should be
gone, your CPU is likely to be unable to process the full frame rate with
this driver. Maybe you're more lucky with "-V opengl"...

Please let me know, how it works out for you, especially if you get it
working!

Bug#318685: setiathome can't download executable anymore

It looks like alien.ssl.berkeley.edu is not correct anymore.

As a matter of fact, it looks like you can't get the old seti client

Maybe this package is no longer needed...

Bug#318683: privoxy: use of "identity" transfer coding breaks libneon

2005-07-16 Thread Michael Shields
Package: privoxy
Version: 3.0.3-3
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

When privoxy receives a page using Transfer-Encoding: chunked, and then
de-chunks it for filtering, it changes the header to "identity". This
value of the header was included in RFC 2616 by mistake; the working group
meant to pull it out. See
and the http-wg mailing list archives for discussion of this.

Specifically, this breaks libneon and therefore gweather-applet, the GNOME
weather panel applet, which attempts to receive US METAR weather data
using chunked encoding. Privoxy's use of "Transfer-Encoding: identity"
is reasonable based on the spec as published, and I believe libneon
is also at fault for assuming that any T-E header implies the chunked
encoding it asked for. But the attached patch brings privoxy into better
standards compliance, and fixes a real-world interoperability problem.

Bug#318682: libqt4-dev: missing dependency on libxinerama-dev

2005-07-16 Thread Ivan Nestlerode
Package: libqt4-dev
Version: 4.0.0-1
Severity: important

I just attempted to walk through the tutorial in qt4-doc.

I copied their "Hello World" program and attempted to build it, and ran
into a missing Xinerama library:

$ vi test.cpp
$ qmake -project
$ qmake
$ make
g++ -c -pipe -g -Wall -W -D_REENTRANT -DQT_CORE_LIB -DQT_GUI_LIB -DQT_SHARED
-I/usr/share/qt4/mkspecs/default -I. -I/usr/include/qt4/QtGui
-I/usr/include/qt4/QtCore -I/usr/include/qt4 -I. -I. -I. -o test.o test.cpp
g++  -o qt test.o   -L/usr/lib -L/tmp/buildd/qt4-x11-4.0.0/lib -lQtGui_debug
-L/usr/X11R6/lib -laudio -lXt -lpng -lSM -lICE -lXi -lXrender -lXrandr
-lXcursor -lXinerama -lfreetype -lXext -lX11 -lm -lQtCore_debug -lfontconfig
-lz -ldl -lpthread
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lXinerama
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [qt] Error 1

Installing the libxinerama-dev package fixes the problem.

I think libqt4-dev (or something that it depends on) needs to depend on
libxinerama-dev.

Bug#318681: gcl: depends on binutils-dev <<= 2.1.5-999), so uninstallable in unstable

2005-07-16 Thread Steve Langasek
Package: gcl
Version: 2.6.6-1
Severity: grave
Tags: sid
Justification: renders package unusable

The gcl binary package depends on "binutils-dev (>= 2.15-5),
binutils-dev (<= 2.15-999)", and as a result is now uninstallable in
unstable where binutils is at version 2.16.1-2. This prevents binutils from
migrating to testing, which is needed before gcc-4.0 (and everything in the
C++ transition) can get in. Please fix gcl so that it's compatible with the
current version of binutils.

This is correct. However since the GCC default has changed we
cannot upload a new dsniff package until bug #315198 is fixed.

Once that's closed there will be a new package. Hopefully it
 will be fairly soon.

Bug#21183: Confirmed...

2005-07-16 Thread Scott James Remnant
It's not actually in infinite loop, it will break out when it reaches
too many errors, but if it didn't do that it would be.

In packages.c depossi_ok_found() we encounter emacs20 and note that we
need it to configure emacs20-el, so add it to the queue and return.

When it fails, we take it off the queue, and look at the next one ...
which happens to be emacs20-el, which makes us queue it again, etc.

Bug#318678: dsniff needs to depend on libnids1.20 instead of libnids1

2005-07-16 Thread Michael Berg
Package: dsniff
Version: 2.4b1-11
Severity: important

dsniff currently Depends on libnids1 (>= 1.20), but libnids1 was recently
changed to libnids1.20 in Debian/unstable - making dsniff uninstallable.

Given that the version of the source code is the same at 1.20 (only the package
name changed), rebuilding dsniff to pick up the new name in its dependancy list
should fix the problem.

Bug#318677: fox: unused library in testing/unstable

2005-07-16 Thread Steve Langasek
Package: fox
Version: 1.0.52-2
Severity: serious

Rezound has been rebuilt against libfox1.2 after sarge's release, so the fox
package (libfox1.0) has no reverse-dependencies in the archive in either
testing or unstable. Unless you know of some other reason why this package
is still needed, I believe it should be removed from the archive now.

Thanks,

I don't really think it's dpkg's problem that you ran out of disk space,
it did the best it could and will roll back the install/upgrade of that
package and leave your system how it found it.

Bug#318673: flac: rebuild needed for C++ ABI transition (NMU patch attached)

2005-07-16 Thread Steve Langasek
Package: flac
Version 1.1.1-5
Severity: serious

Hi Matt,

Under the 0-day NMU policy for the C++ ABI transition, I have prepared an
NMU for flac, because it includes a C++ library which needs to be rebuilt so
that a number of other C++-based packages can transition to g++ 4.0. The
diff for this NMU is attached; the NMU will be uploaded shortly. If you see
any problems with the pach, let me know so I can have the package rejected

Hello,

The current description says:

I suggest to change it to:

 .
eric is a full featured Python IDE. The homepage for eric is:
 http://www.die-offenbachs.de/detlev/eric3.html

That way one doesn't have to make another lookup to discover what eric
is.

This is an old bug, and is currently unreproducible. There were recent
fixes to dpkg's error handling and unpack clean-up that may have fixed
this.

Please try again, and if you still get the problem, open a new bug.

The intended behaviour is that on the unpack failing, dpkg rolls back
the package to the previous state and leaves your system as it found it
-- this is tested and seems to work in the cases I have here.

Also, unless this has been fixed in -6, libpmpich++.so.1 isn't linked
correctly -- it's missing ELF dependencies on libmpich.so.1.0 and on
libstdc++. In addition to the package is also missing a dependency on
libstdc++[56], this makes libmpich.so.1.0 unusable for applications using
prelink or dlopen().

Bug#318668: [Fwd: Log for successful build of nip2_7.10.10-2 (dist=unstable)]

2005-07-16 Thread dann frazier
Package: nip2
Version: 7.10.10-2
Tags: patch

Our automated buildd log filter[1] detected a problem that will cause
your package to segfault on architectures where the size of a pointer is
greater than the size of an integer, such as ia64.

nip2 uses strcasestr() without defining _GNU_SOURCE

Bug#318667: mozilla-firefox: URLs can no longer be opened in new tabs from a page

2005-07-16 Thread Vincent Lefevre
Package: mozilla-firefox
Version: 1.0.5-1
Severity: important

Since the upgrade to 1.0.5-1, URLs can no longer be opened in new tabs
from a page, i.e. when I click on a link with the middle button or when
I click on "Open Link in New Tab" from the contextual menu.

But if I click with the middle button on a bookmark, the corresponding
URL is opened in a new tab as expected.

Bug#318669: regedit command-line importing crashes wine

2005-07-16 Thread Elias Kunnas
Package: wine
Version: 0.0.20050628-1
Severity: normal

Any regedit command-line importing (ie. regedit file.reg) crashes wine,
the file can be anything from empty to full registry exported by
regedit GUI. I asked some people in IRC (#winehq @ FreeNode) whether
it works for them (not using debian packages or debian) and it seemed
to work ok, so that's why I filed this bug here and not Wine bugzilla.

Output I get running regedit and wine regedit:

Bug#318670: exim4 stops delivery after 10 messages from fetchmail

2005-07-16 Thread David Lawyer
Package: exim4-base
Version: 4.44-2_i386

I get my mail from my ISP via fetchmail when I dialup. So today there
were 34 messages waiting, but unfortunately, most of them don't get
delivered to me until 30 minutes later when exim4 does its next queue run.

Here's from the syslog file:

Jul 16 12:22:08 davespc fetchmail[1499]: 34 messages for dave at mail.lafn.org
(130271 octets).
Jul 16 12:22:09 davespc fetchmail[1499]: reading message [EMAIL PROTECTED]:1 of
34 (2147 octets)
.
Jul 16 12:23:47 davespc fetchmail[1499]: reading message [EMAIL PROTECTED]:34
of 34 (2278 octets)

Then from the exim mainlog file I got 12 "Completed" like the
following. 2 were in the queue before fetchmail started.

2005-07-16 12:22:45 1DtsFH-ON-S5 Completed

Then got many more like the following: (24 such messages ?)

2005-07-16 12:22:46 1DtsFK-ON-SM <= [EMAIL PROTECTED] H=(localhost)
[127.0.0.1] U=fetchmail P=esmtp S=3374 [EMAIL PROTECTED]
2005-07-16 12:22:46 1DtsFK-ON-SM no immediate delivery: more than 10
messages received in one connection

So it's behaving as if smpt_accept-max_per_connection was set to 10.
But it's not set to 10 since the command: exim4 -bP shows it set to the
default of 1000. Others have reported this problem on the Internet
and one reported that adding smpt_accept-max_per_connection = 100 to
the config file didn't fix the problem. So I didn't try it. After
all, it's already supposed to be set to 1000. The -bP option seems to
show what exim4 thinks after checking it's configuration files.

The other possibility for this error was that
smpt_accept-max_per_connection = 10 was somehow given as a command
line option from /etc/init.d/exim4. Here is that file:

Bug#318672: mozilla-firefox: should probably conflict with mozilla-tabextensions 1.14.2005051901-1

2005-07-16 Thread Vincent Lefevre
Package: mozilla-firefox
Version: 1.0.5-1
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 7.3

There seem to be very important incompatibilities between
mozilla-firefox 1.0.5-1 (to which I've just upgraded) and
mozilla-tabextensions 1.14.2005051901-1.

I've done some tests with a new profile, trying it with and without
the tabextensions. The two bugs I've just reported are due to this
extension. I recall them here:

1) Bookmarks not visible until I click on "Manage Bookmarks".

Just after Firefox starts up, the Bookmark menu contains only the
following items:
  * Bookmark This Page...
  * Manage Bookmarks...

I need to click on "Manage Bookmarks..." and close the window to
make the bookmarks appear in the Bookmarks menu.

2) Since the upgrade to 1.0.5-1, URLs can no longer be opened in new
tabs from a page, i.e. when I click on a link with the middle button
or when I click on "Open Link in New Tab" from the contextual menu.

But if I click with the middle button on a bookmark, the corresponding
URL is opened in a new tab as expected.

I don't know if these bugs need to be closed or reassigned to
mozilla-tabextensions.

The "Find As You Type" feature doesn't work either (no problems with
no extensions). I suspect that the whole interface gets seriously
broken due to this extension. So, this package should conflict with
mozilla-tabextensions (<= 1.14.2005051901-1).

probably be using that, though unfortunately it is not possible to build
it on ia64.

Bug#222046: Not reproducible

2005-07-16 Thread Jussi Pakkanen

Hi

I just tried this with a transparent png image on OO.o 1.1.3 on Sarge. The
resulting PDF had correct transparency information. If this is still a bug
for someone, please speak up. Otherwise I'll close this in a few days.

PS Transparent PDFs render very badly on most viewers (XPDF etc). The only
one who gets it consistently right is unfortunately Acrobat Reader. :(

You might want to look in the actual debs instead of relying on
packages.debian.org to provide accurate information about a package version
that was only uploaded two days ago.

Just after Firefox starts up, the Bookmark menu contains only the
following items:
  * Bookmark This Page...
  * Manage Bookmarks...

I need to click on "Manage Bookmarks..." and close the window to
make the bookmarks appear in the Bookmarks menu.

This problem is reproducible.

Bug#305832: knights+gnuchess locks up

2005-07-16 Thread Jason Dorje Short
Package: knights
Version: 0.6-3
Followup-For: Bug #305832

Sounds like I have the same bug: I'm playing knights and it's using gnuchess.
On my very first game a few moves in it locks up. The GUI is responsive but
the AI won't make a move. Looking at `top` it appears to be 100% gnuchess.

Screenshot at http://freeciv.org/~jdorje/knights_board.png. I haven't checked
if it's a reproducable problem. I've reported this bug only to the knights
package although it could be a gnuchess bug.

Bug#283630: xfig: Problems with large fonts, zooming and units

2005-07-16 Thread Roland Rosenfeld

I cannot reproduce this problem here. I think that this is a
configuration problem with your X11 fonts. I suggest installing
gsfonts-x11 (which you already installed) and using a font path like
this:

FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/:unscaled"
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/:unscaled"
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/:unscaled"

FontPath "/var/lib/defoma/x-ttcidfont-conf.d/dirs/TrueType/"
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1/"
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo/"

FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/"
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/"
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/"

This first gives you unscaled pixel fonts. These may not be 100%
correct in size, but look best on small font sizes, because they are
optimized for several small font sizes.

Second I use the scalable fonts (TrueType and Type1 (=PS)), which
includes the gsfonts.

If no scalable font is available, as a last resort the X server tries
to find a pixel font and scale it to the needed size (which looks
quite ugly, but is better than nothing).

With such a font path, all PS fonts configurable in xfig should be
displayable in any size. It works at least for your example here.

> Bug2: Set zoom to 1 and units to metric. Text becames larger than
> the bounding box.

I have to admit, that this is true but the text is only a little bit
larger than the bounding box. This is a problem of incompatibilities
between X11 fonts and printer fonts. Usually the bounding box should
be correct in size (for printing) while the X11 font only gives a hint
how the font will look like on printing.

Bug#65690: Unreplicable

2005-07-16 Thread Scott James Remnant
unmerge 65690
close 65690

This is an old bug, and cannot be replicated. dpkg is extra-ordinarily
anal about checking that every write() and the close() succeed -- and
will roll-back the installation or upgrade of a package if the disk
becomes full while it does so.

If you can come up with a test case for this on a real filesystem,
please feel free to file a new bug report.

Bug#15162: Not a dpkg bug

2005-07-16 Thread Scott James Remnant
unmerge 15162
reassign 15162 lilo
kthxbye

This is not a bug in dpkg, it has caught the fact it can't change the
ownership of /boot/boot.b on an MS-DOS filesystem and has aborted the
upgrade (as you can tell from your own status output).

As part of the process of aborting the upgrade, it will run the postinst
of the old version of lilo with the arguments "abort-upgrade 20-0.1".

Clearly the postinst of lilo version 19-2 does not expect to get
abort-upgrade, and carries on as normal.

Please check whether the current version still exhibits this bug.

Thanks,

Scott

Bug#318664: nagios-plugins: check_ntp reports bogus errors.

2005-07-16 Thread Steve Greenland
Package: nagios-plugins
Version: 1.4-6
Severity: normal

Check_ntp calls "ntpdate -q $host", which determines the offset of the
nagios host from $host. It then has this gem:

$offset = $2;

# An offset of 0.00 with an error is probably bogus. Actually,
# it's probably always bogus, but let's be paranoid here.
if ($offset == 0) { undef $offset;}

$ntpdate_error = defined ($offset) ? $ERRORS{"OK"} :
$ERRORS{"CRITICAL"};

There's two problems: the first is that the comment doesn't match the
actual code; there's no check for an error, just the assumption that
"offset == 0.0" is an error.

The second problem is that if "$host" is "localhost" (i.e the host
running nagios), it's completely legitimate that the offset is 0 --
that's the whole *point* of ntp. As a practical matter, it tends to
flip between 0 and very small values, so nagios is continually swappign
between OK and CRITICAL.

For that matter, there's a third problem: the whole ntpdate check is
wrong headed. It compares the time on the nagios host to the time on the
host being monitored, which is irrelevant to the quality of time on the
remote host. The ntpq check is the proper one; the ntpdate check should
be removed entirely, which, since ntpdate is deprecated, would be just
as well.

Regards,
Steve

reproduceable.

Quanta opens them after successive instances of sftp (kio-slave?)
transfers files. None of the three files render any text content in
each of the tabs w/in Quanta.

The file that's apparently spared is the last file Quanta opened (again,
no text content displays for editing)

After quitting Quanta, the last file is overwritten (no confirmation
dialogs suggest data is to be saved).

Thanks Brian,

I guess that means I have to stay with unstable then. I'll also have to
work on my spelling since I don't have anything to check it in
evolution, since aspell seems to not want to install yet.

It is hard to debug mldonkey_server... The best is to take a look at the
source code -- and test it step by step (i don't say using a debugger,
because the base debugger of ocaml is pretty complicated ).

Yep, that is really not enough to have information...

In fact, i really don't know where the error can come from. Maybe you
should wait for a new release, hoping it will fix your problem (but i
don't think so).

Bug#318654: Please remove the libpcap0.9 source package

2005-07-16 Thread Romain Francoise
Package: ftp.debian.org

The libpcap0.9 source package isn't needed anymore, it turns out that
version 0.9 of libpcap is API and ABI compatible with libpcap0.8 so I
kept the same soname and package names to avoid an unnecessary
transition.

It has no reverse dependencies and as of tonight, the binary packages
don't install any files beside those in /usr/share/doc.

This release tries to fix the problem for build/filenames.make, but
not for c/scheme48.h and c/old-scheme48.h.

It tries, but doesn't actually fix it: at the time filenames.make is
(tried to be) built, $(INITIAL) doesn't exist yet, so you cannot use
it. These three files are not supposed to be rebuilt at all during a
Debian build, so we should just touch them to make sure they are
date-newer than their sources. (And if the Debian package patches any
of the .scm files, we should rebuild them and ship the change in the
Debian diff.)

Bug#318651: [Fwd: Log for successful build of libbonoboui_2.10.0-1 (dist=unstable)]

2005-07-16 Thread dann frazier
Package: libbonoboui
Version: 2.10.0-1
Tags: patch

Our automated buildd log filter[1] detected a problem that will cause
your package to segfault on architectures where the size of a pointer is
greater than the size of an integer, such as ia64.

libbonobui uses the function gnome_i18n_get_language_list() without
including the necessary header. This prototype is wrapped in an
#ifndef GNOME_DISABLE_DEPRECATED, so this patch also drops its usage.

Bug#318649: imp4: Toolbar renders 1em down in Mozilla.

2005-07-16 Thread Rob Andrews
Package: imp4
Version: 4.0.2-2
Severity: normal

imp4's toolbar renders 1em lower than any other toolbar in the horde3
suite.

At first I thought it was caused by a PHP warning that leaked into the
output HTML, but it's actually padding on forms that mozilla renders
mistakenly.

Here's a patch that fixes the undefined value warning and sets 0 pixel
padding on the form. The toolbar sits in it's correct position upon
applying this.

(nb: sorry I didn't patch the source tree, it was easier to edit in
place so I could see the results in a browser)

Bug#318650: xlibs: [xkb] package update silently removes a modified rules file

2005-07-16 Thread Shai Berger
Package: xlibs
Version: 6.8.2.dfsg.1-2
Severity: normal

I like to use alt+caps-lock to switch between keyboard layouts.
For this, I use a modified symbols/group file which declares
a partial map called alt_caps_toggle. To complement it, I
added in /etc/X11/xkb/rules/xfree86 a definition for
grp:alt_caps_toggle which was the obvious groups(alt_caps_toggle).
Recently, I updated the system, and the new xlibs silently
replaced my modified file with a soft link to ./xorg. I was
not asked about it, no copy of my old file was saved, etc.

It may be noted that I *was* politely asked about the new
symbols/group file.
