See also the recent discussion on debian-devel about note templates displayed with a low or medium priority. This is *not* an error type, but really a note. Moreover, this only happens with the SSL-enabled build which is *not* in the archive, but the build system is provided for the users' convenience. Therefore, you will *not* see it with the standard Debian package present in the archive. * the following line in your config file: if [ -f /etc/ircd-hybrid/ircd.conf ]; then tests the existance of the ircd.conf file, so the adjective possibly is pointless I think it reflects the reality better, because this message occurs *if* the config file exists. * the following line in your config file: if egrep -q '[\t ]*[^#]+servlink_path' /etc/ircd-hybrid/ircd.conf; tests if there is a servlink_path directive, so the if-then construction of your sentence is pointless. Same comment here, because it occurs *if* the config file contains the servlink_path directive. For those two points, it is needed to inform the user why he got the message. May I take the opportunity of this bug to ask you to send a request for review of the French translation to debian-l10n-french? This is weird, because I did not touch any templates when revving up the package to the new upstream release, so it is accurrate. Feel free to do it yourself. In any case, this is my understanding of this nonsense bug to my mind. So, it is clear that directfb needs not only the per-card drivers for acceleration, but also for normal usage. You're talking about per-card framebuffer devices, not per-card DFB gfxdrivers, right? On i386 the vesafb device can be used in place of card-specific fb devices and DFB will run unaccelerated on top of it. Does a device driver equivalent to vesafb exists for PPCs? Bug#379940: boson: detects incorrectly DRI off, when DRI on
Hi On Saturday 23 September 2006 18:34, Eddy Petrişor wrote: On 20/09/06, Andreas Beckermann [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hmm, what is wrong? Could you expand? Well, apparently you have either the data package not installed, or configured/installed it to a different location than the boson binary was configured to. Does anything change if you start boson using LD_PRELOAD_LIBRARY=/usr/lib/libGL.so boson ? If by anything you meant the rendering message dissapears, then the answer is no. Umm and what if you do LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libGL.so boson instead? Sorry about that error This way it works. and the game moves at an acceptable speed (there are some inconveniences, but it works) and the warnign is not displayed. Ok, thanks, that helped a lot. This means that mesa has problems with dlopen()ing libGL.so (which we do). Further investigations showed that apparently RTLD_GLOBAL is required as dlopen() flag for mesa's libGL.so - QLibrary (which we use for loading libGL.so) does not specify this flag, so it may indeed be the cause of this problem. I have just committed a patch to boson subversion which loads libGL.so manually using dlopen() and provides the RTLD_GLOBAL flag, so it _might_ be fixed now. However I cannot test this myself, as both of my systems have NVidia cards and thus I don't have DRI drivers that support direct rendering anyway. Could you try to compile current boson subversion and see if the problem still exists? CU Andi -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? I also noted that on the former version, the ghost wasn't well displayed (looked a bit upside down, maybe due to some endianness) but I didn't take time to report it on time. Therefore, you will *not* see it with the standard Debian package present in the archive. If this is not an error, raise the priority. My setup: * Gnome desktop * IceWM window manager * One Gnome panel on the left-hand side of the screen, no main menu on top * Gnome-Terminal set up with several profiles, one of them Pine * One application launcher, with this command line: gnome-terminal --title Pine --window-with-profile Pine --command /usr/local/bin/pine -d9 --geometry 90x57 Steps to reproduce: 1. Have no terminal windows open 2. Press the application launcher Expected results: One Gnome Terminal window displaying Pine in a 90x57 window should display, using the Pine profile. Actual results: Two Gnome Termianl windows open, one with the properly configured Pine profile, running Pine, and one in a standard 80x25, using the standard profile. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16-1-k7 Locale: LANG=sv, LC_CTYPE=sv (charmap=ISO-8859-1) (ignored: LC_ALL set to sv_SE.ISO8859-1) Versions of packages gnome-terminal depends on: ii gnome-control-center 1:2.14.2-2 utilities to configure the GNOME d ii gnome-terminal-data 2.14.2-1Data files for the GNOME terminal ii libatk1.0-0 1.12.2-1The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libbonobo2-0 2.14.0-1Bonobo CORBA interfaces library ii libc62.3.6.ds1-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgconf2-4 2.14.0-4GNOME configuration database syste ii libglade2-0 1:2.6.0-2 library to load .glade files at ru ii libglib2.0-0 2.12.3-2The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome2-0 2.14.1-3The GNOME 2 library - runtime file ii libgnomeui-0 2.14.1-2The GNOME 2 libraries (User Interf ii libgnomevfs2-0 2.14.2-1GNOME virtual file-system (runtime ii libgtk2.0-0 2.8.20-1The GTK+ graphical user interface ii liborbit21:2.14.0-2 libraries for ORBit2 - a CORBA ORB ii libpango1.0-01.12.3-1+b1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpopt0 1.10-3 lib for parsing cmdline parameters ii libstartup-notification0 0.8-1 library for program launch feedbac ii libvte4 1:0.12.2-4 Terminal emulator widget for GTK+ ii libx11-6 2:1.0.0-8 X11 client-side library ii libxrender1 1:0.9.1-3 X Rendering Extension client libra ii scrollkeeper 0.3.14-11 A free electronic cataloging syste Versions of packages gnome-terminal recommends: ii yelp 2.14.2-2 Help browser for GNOME 2 -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#389116: Makefile for building policy modules?
Package: selinux-policy-refpolicy-src Version: 0.0.20060911-2 Severity: normal Hi, AFAIK Fedora has a /usr/share/selinux/devel/Makefile or something which you can copy into a directory, add foo.fc+foo.if+foo.te and then type 'make' (at least that's how I understand it - I didn't test) in order to build the foo.pp which you can then install via 'semodule -i foo.pp'. What's the Debian way to build and add additional policy modules when you're using the targeted or strict packages? Maybe both should ship such a Makefile (and some other required files maybe, such build.conf?). Ideally, you should be able to easily add new modules if you just install -targeted/-strict (and not the -src policy). Also, the README.Debian in all policy packages should probably document how this works. Bug#379724: possible NMU patch for RC bug
Op zo, 24-09-2006 te 00:39 +0200, schreef Steinar H. Gunderson: On Sat, Sep 23, 2006 at 08:20:30PM +0200, Arjan Oosting wrote: The failure is in the NOT in the build-arch target but in the build-indep-stamp target as the log shows: That doesn't really matter. I agree with that build *IS* called by the dpkg-buildpackage and as such by the build daemons which *IS* in the Debian policy [1]. dpkg-buildpackage -B first calls the build target and after that the binary-arch target. What dpkg-buildpackage does, doesn't really matter -- what matters is policy. build _must_ build the _entire_ package: The `build' target should perform all the configuration and compilation of the package. IOW, you can't take build-indep out of build. However, sbuild is buggy, it seems; policy demands: The `Build-Depends-Indep' and `Build-Conflicts-Indep' fields must be satisfied when any of the following targets is invoked: `build' [...] The simple workaround is just to move the dependency, as I've done in my patch. Both ways are workarounds indeed as sbuild should just call build-arch when it exists but it does not. This has been discussed before, see for instance the some code in cdbs [1] and some threads on the lists [2,3] My work around is to only build the arch-dependent part in build (yes, this does not follow the letter of the policy but is done before) and only build the arch independent part when binary-indep is called. Your workaround is to include all the build dependencies for the architecture independent parts in the Build-Depends as well so both parts are build in the build target. I think both are equivalent but I prefer the former as it keeps the build daemon from building and installing unnecessary stuff. The second way is more policy compliant but makes Build-Depends-Indep worthless as the architecture independent parts are build time and time again. Best would be to fix sbuild, but without that I prefer the first option. Greetings Arjan Oosting p.s. I hope I did not sound to harsh in my previous mail; I did not intend to be at least. [1] part of /usr/share/cdbs/1/rules/buildcore.mk # This is a required Debian target; however, its specific semantics is # in dispute. We are of the opinion that 'build' should invoke # build-arch and build-indep. Bug#389122: rtorrent: wrong build-dependency on libreadline5
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Guillem Jover escribió: Package: rtorrent Version: 0.6.2-1 Hi, This new version got a Build-Dependency on libreadline5. I cannot see where this library is being linked against in rtorrent, if it's an indirect dependency that should be reflected in the package directly needing this library. Second thing is, if that library would be really needed, the proper package to Build-Depend on would be libreadlin5-dev which is the one providing the .so symlink. regards, guillem Hi guillem, this is needed by `bc' and `libreadlin5' is the dependency that needs `bc', not `libreadlin5-dev'. Is reflected in the used of `bc' during the Build, if I delete this dependency then fails to build. Please, explain better which is the problem. Thanks for your report. Bug#389123: diakonos: Default configuration file isn't detected
Package: diakonos Version: 0.8.2-1 Severity: important This otherwise nice package installs a default configuration file as /etc/diakonos/diakonos.conf, but this path isn't valid as far as Diakonos is concerned ... : # diakonos diakonos.conf not found in any of: /usr/local/share/diakonos/ /usr/share/diakonos/ ~/.diakonos/ At least one configuration file must exist. Download a sample configuration file from http://purepistos.net/diakonos . After copying /etc/diakonos/diakonos.conf to ~/.diakonos/diakonos.conf, the editor works fine. I'm far from being a Debian policy expert, but I suppose it should be possible to either link the config file from /usr/share to /etc, or something similar.
