Hmm, this looks good. And what is Python search path?

python -c 'import sys; print sys.path'

Bug#520393: Confirmed on wired Ethernet too

2009-05-04 Thread Jean-Marc Liotier
Using Arpwatch version 2.1a13-2.1 on a dual NIC host that performs routing and
a few services for a three stations LAN, I have also encountered surprisingly
high CPU usage - arpwatch was competing with other running processes to hog the
whole single core CPU. Restarting arpwatch solved the problem. I don't know how
long arpwatch had been running wild - probably a few days at least, and I do
not know what triggered this behavior either.

Bug#527026: a way to set default options

2009-05-04 Thread Peter Eisentraut
Package: lintian
Version: 2.2.10
Severity: wishlist

It would be nice if lintian had a way to set some default options, e.g., by a
variable such as

LINTIAN_OPTIONS='--color=auto -E'

This could go into the shell initialization files or into .lintianrc.

There is precedent for something like that, e.g.,

GREP_OPTIONS='--color=auto --exclude=TAGS'

or

LESS='-i -S'

The way to do this currently, I suppose, is via DEBUILD_LINTIAN_OPTS plus a
shell alias. Maybe that's OK, but perhaps you agree with my idea above.

Have you tried reproducing this with lenny's debootstrap?

(please note that I know about nothing about debootstrap but I'm just
worried about an RC bug filed against one of our key packages, but not
verified against a recent enough version of the said package)

Bug#512253: virt-manager problems with iso if accessing server via ssh

2009-05-04 Thread Clayton Kramer
I confirmed this behavior by using the X forwarding of SSH to my KVM
server. It allowed me to properly select the ISO file when virt-manager
is running "local." I like Karl's idea of removing the file path check.
It's a simple workaround until someone implements a more elegant solution.

Just to keep that bug updated:
Unfortunately the ruby imap class doesn't support talking to a process,

This is not the link to the image, it is the link in
/lib/modules/$(uname -r)/build. The postinst still tries to handle
 these.

I do not understand. I guess I should say this is passed along
to dpkg-buildpackage and third-party modules. What they do with it is
 up to them.

Well, make-kpkg just passes the value to dpkg-buildpackage using
the -k option, and to third party modules usingt the KMAINT environment
variable. How they handle it is up to them.

Nope. If you want to use a root command, you need to specify
 which one.

Yes, since this is not a symlink to the image.

Why break things or people who compile kernels on their machine
and then want to install, say, vmware?

> 7) Shouldn't there be a similar option like delete_source_link?

Most people do not seem to care much for the source links. And,
unlike the build links, kernel header packages do not contend to be
 targets.

> btw: This issue with CONCURRENCY_LEVEL,... was this now really fixed?
> Or just worked around?

You do not get parallel builds with the buildpackage target.

Bug#527025: samba: location of "private dir" is wrong

2009-05-04 Thread Christian Perrier
Package: samba
Version: 3.2.5-4
Severity: serious

For a reason I can't explain but could very well be a mistake of mine
at some moment, we currently use /var/lib/samba for "private dir".

That will indeed be the very last remaining of the FHS patches.

This is the location where passdb.tdb|smbpasswd files are kept (when
using tdbsam or smbpasswd as "passdb backend") as well as secrets.tdb
that containssecrets... (such as machine accounts passwords).

We need to change this as this is certainly a violation of the
policy...but, of course, we need to provide a mimgration path in
maintainer scripts.

I "version-tag" this for versions in lenny in case we decide to fix
that issue for lenny.

Bug#474024: malicious applications can print text over gksu window

2009-05-04 Thread Timo Juhani Lindfors
Hi,

if I have compromised the account of the normal user of the machine
and run

gksu dangerous-command

followed by

osd_cat -o 290 -i 410 -c black -d 100 <(echo harmless-command)

then the user sitting near the system will think that he is giving
permission to run harmless-command even though he is really going to
run dangerous-command.

I still propose that "man gksu" should be improved to warn about these
issues so that people don't get false sense of security.

best regards,

Bug#186778: ExtUtils::Embed problem when libperl-dev not installed

Yes, it seems to me that ExtUtils::Embed belongs in libperl-dev.

Brendan, what's the rationale for the current organization?
I see you fixed #155319 in 5.8.0-7 by documenting the situation
in the ExtUtils::Embed manpage rather than moving the module.

No other module in perl-modules requires ExtUtils::Embed AFAICS, so that
part should not be a problem. Also, I expect that every package that
needs ExtUtils::Embed already depends on libperl-dev as the module is
quite useless otherwise.

If ExtUtils::Embed is moved, I suppose we could put a documentation
stub in perl-modules that points to the libperl-dev package.
(However, a stub module throwing an error seems too invasive to me.)

What version of ffmpeg does xbmc include? I think a lot of trouble can
be avoided if a version is integrated that is shared by debian and other
ffmpeg downstreams. Since version 0.5 was released recently, that would
be a good candidate.

In fact, Debian tracks the 0.5 release branch of ffmpeg, and will
probably keep tracking it for quite some time.

how often/frequently does xbmc release? is there a roadmap?

Yes, that would be nice, but there are still open questions to
solve, e.g. how do you assure that the tag actually builds? This is
why we require at least one binary package with an upload, so that
the build daemons don't have to rake through broken packages and
their admins get annoyed.

I've raised this issue many times in the last 8 years. ;)
My last coherent writeup was
http://madduck.net/blog/2005.08.11:rcs-uploads/, and if you have any
new ideas, please let me know!

When I finish with my research in the weeks to come, I plan to set
up an amd64+i386 build daemon which can build your packages from
source. Then we can investigate this further.

Please add to the package description that the package also contains
all of the utilities necessary for clientside heimdal. Ftp and

Bug#439763: More info on the hanging debconf problem

2009-05-04 Thread Matthew Palmer
OK, so it's not actually Puppet installs that do it for me... it's
openssh-server (which I was installing alongside it). Nothing like an
assumption to ruin your day...

At any rate, the symptoms are still substantively the same -- preseeded
install, a hang at "Running preseed", the error
"/usr/share/debconf/confmodule: line 42: 3: Bad file descriptor", and a
zombied dpkg-preconfigure.

Happily, though, it would appear that pkgsel/include (which I've only just
found) works around the problem nicely, and as such it could be argued that
this bug, as currently manifest, isn't all that important. Whether it
causes (or has the potential to cause) hassle in other circumstances I
couldn't say, though.

Does the same thing happen with apt-get? This sounds like the "cool,

I've just hit this bug myself, in much the same way as Adrian Bridgett did

debian-installer-20090123lenny1 (I'm "slipstreaming" a couple of local udebs

I'm trying to track down the problem now. Any hints for how to get lots of

a symlink for dynamic one). That should resolve the bug ;)

Cheers

Bug#524625: sudo cowbuilder --create E: Got signal: Broken pipe, cleaning up amd64

2009-05-04 Thread Junichi Uekawa

Hi,

Can you not reproduce this with debootstrap ?

I think it's the error message from debootstrap (or cdebootstrap, whichever you
are using).

Bug#526468: qemubuilder: fails on --create with «tar: ./*: Cannot utime: Unknown error 4294967207»

2009-05-04 Thread Junichi Uekawa

You may want to look at changing qemu version, kernel version, and
debian distribution version (sid or lenny) to see which is causing
this problem, because it doesn't happen for me.

Here's a one-line patch to fix the issues compiling cxxtools with the latest
libtool. It seems libtool 2.2 skips building the static version of the
library if "-shared" is on the link command line.

I think the attached patch will fix this issue but I can't be positive
as my attempts to reproduce it have failed (for some reason even when I
remove resolv.conf at least some of the docbook-to-xml calls succeed
very slowly and there was no way I was going to wait arround long enough
to see if one failed after loads succeeded).

Severity: normal

In my logs I get a half dozen or so instances of this every day:

May  4 17:35:01 krosp pulseaudio[7702]: module-console-kit.c: GetUnixUser()
call failed: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method "GetUnixUser"
with signature "" on interface "org.freedesktop.ConsoleKit.Session" doesn't
exist

As far as I can tell, though, nothing actually goes wrong with PulseAudio, it
just generates this failure message and carries on working. I suspect it is
worth checking, though.

Regards,
Daniel

Bug#527014: Rhythmbox asks to overwrite files during transfer to iPod

2009-05-04 Thread Carlos Laviola
Package: rhythmbox
Version: 0.12.0-2
Severity: important
Tags: patch

It seems that when copying songs to an iPod, Rhythmbox truncates
filenames in a way that will often make songs in the same record clash
when copied. This will result in Rhythmbox asking you to overwrite songs
when copying to it, which is obviously non-intuitive, specially in cases
like mine (brand new iPod, initialized by Rhythmbox itself).

This bug is also on Launchpad and GNOME's bugzilla:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/312902
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=570600

Upstream suggests the following patch (from the bug history):

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=131944&action=view

Best regards,
Carlos

That sounds like a good idea. (I'm a DM, not a DD, so my key is in

Actually, no :-) My thinking got as far as "hey, that sounds useful!
Maybe it lets stuff operate of foo.pdf.gz automatically without having
to gunzip it first!"

This code does not exist in kernel-package; I think you mean t

Bug#504223: can the debian package include some workaround to #504223 (fonts unsupported) until it's fixed upstream ?

2009-05-04 Thread Xavi Drudis Ferran
Hello. Here's a recent use case I've found myself with,
and I think the user experience could be improved.
The names and files have been changed to protect the
guilty (and to simplify, to familiarize, to entertain...).

Alice installs a Debian sid system, because when real girls
want to go to Wonderland they know how to use a mirror
(to download from, not to go through, what was Lewis Carroll thinking?).

Alice is quite unexperienced with graphics, and worse with svg,
but she's got this hola.svg file she would like to convert to pdf.

In aptitude, the roadmap to Wonderland, she finds python-uniconvertor.

So she installs it and simply runs:

   al...@wonderland:~$ uniconvertor hola.svg hola.pdf
I can't find font Bitstream Vera Sans. I'll use Slim instead
I can't find font Slim. I'll use Slim instead
Fontsystem not yet implemented in UniConvertor. See
/usr/share/doc/python-uniconvertor/README.Debian for more info

She's directed to README.Debian, and she reads:

   --- Font support ---
UniConvertor doesn't have font support yet and should be used against
path-based files only.

   See: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=504223

SVG (and possibly other files as well) can be converted to path-based files
in inkscape.

Ok, ideally she would just draw a patch from a hat to implement ttf
in python-uniconvertor, but she doesn't have a hat and the White Rabbit
is in a hurry and can't lend her his hat. So she opens inkscape instead,
loads hola.svg, and starts looking for a way to convert text to
path-based files. She finds a menu called "camí" (path) and an option
called "Objecte a camí" (object to path). Looks like it could be
it. She clicks on the arrow tool, she uses "select All in all layers"
from the Edit menu, and then she uses this "object to path" option.
Finally she saves, as hola-path.svg (for good measure she chooses "simple SVG"
as format).

When she looks at the files, hola.svg has a element and
hola-path.svg has a element instead. Good. :)

So she now runs

   al...@wonderland:~$ uniconvertor hola-path.svg hola-path.pdf

And she gets exactly the same error refering her to docs
that keep telling her to do what she thought she had already done. :(
She's starting to feel some empathy for the Queen of Hearts,
but she regains her temper and decides to ask for help.
So Alice in Wonderland sends a message to Bob in Workaroundland
(encrypted, of course, but that's irrelevant) asking him to
come over here.

When Bob meets Alice, looking closer, they see that the
element in hola-path.svg has a style attribute that defines
a font-family property.
Namely:

style="font-size:12px;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;fill:#00;fill-opacity:1;stroke:none;stroke-width:1px;stroke-linecap:butt;stroke-linejoi
n:miter;stroke-opacity:1;font-family:Bitstream Vera Sans"

The Mad Hatter says that's beacuse inkScape knows the font-family
attribute won't be used for rendering but it may come handy in case
anyone was to add other text or whatever, at least the information is
not lost, but the March Hare thinks it's just that there was no need
to change the style attribute value, since other properties in it
may be relevant. Alice and Bob don't care.

Alice asks:
Is there a better way to use inkScape to change text based svg files
to path based svg files ? If so, could it please be explained clearer
in README.Debian ? Thanks.

But Bob isn't satisfied, so he goes:
b...@workaround~: mkdir ~/.uniconvertor
b...@workaround~: cd ~/.uniconvertor/
b...@workaround~: ln -s /usr/share/fonts/type1/gsfonts/n021023l.afm .
b...@workaround~: ln -s /usr/share/fonts/type1/gsfonts/n021023l.pfm .
b...@workaround~: ln -s /usr/share/fonts/type1/gsfonts/n021023l.pfb .
b...@workaround~: python /usr/share/doc/skencil/tools/mkfontdb.py -sxg .
b...@workaround~: perl -pi -e 's/^[^,]+,[^,]+,/Slim,Slim,/' std.sfd
b...@workaround~: cd
b...@workaround~: uniconvertor hola-path.svg hola-path.pdf

And it still fails the same as before

Alice: So what ?. At least I didn't waste my time on my console...

Bob: No, wait, the problem is uniconvertor can't load its fonts,
in particular the fallback font (Slim). If it could, we wouldn't
have to remove font-family styles from svgs... it would only
fail when actually rendering fonts whch wouldn't happen in
path-based files...

Alice: I see. That's why you tried to generate the .sfd file listing
the fonts it loads and give it one random type1 font from ghostscript
which you named as Slim in the sfd. You won't make it render fonts,
but at least you can make it survive the mention of fonts.

[...]

After some more debugging, Alice finds that adding this one line at the
end of /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/uniconvertor/app/Graphics/font.py
fixes it:

read_font_dirs()

Now she can convert hola-path.svg to hola-path.pdf correctly,
by following README.Debian.

Bob: Great!. So this is it.

Alice: Well. I can go on with my work, but it's no

Can't say, I haven't used that laptop for months. It doesn't seem to be
broken on amd64, but that probably isn't helpful.

Package: python

The python-policy talks about running dh_pycentral/dh_pysupport
before dh_python and had examples of doing that. I don't
see why, since dh_python is deprecated and does not need to
be used if you're using those programs.

(Also, python-policy seems to contain incorrect instructions for

Please don't package this version. It has a known regression that is

If you want to package something that reliably works and has been

Is this really needed? After all, the boot process goes on after that, and I
think loading the module should provide the device file right away?!

It's just 0.2s after all, but I'd like to have a reference in the comment

This looks very good, and is just what I've thought about when you told me

Bug#521901: avarice: FTBFS: current binutils static libs need -lz

2009-05-04 Thread peter green

tags 521901 +patch
thanks

Since the package builds only one binary the library can be added
through LDFLAGS from debian/rules

To do this insert "export LDFLAGS += -lz" between the shebang and the
first rule in debian/rules.

Both of those are special cases explicitly designed for usability with
weaker security, though. I use neither.

Arguably so, but how do you define what is sensible? In my mind,
PolicyKit's defaults seem sensible only for desktop setups, which aren't
the only places in which HAL is being used. I've used it both in
workstation-class setups and "embedded" special purpose setups (such as
a music player computer, where I used it to detect USB storage with
media files on), where it cannot reasonably be argued that local users
should be granted all those privileges by default. I don't think that it
should be assumed that all Debian machines are desktop machines. That's
what Ubuntu is for, if you ask me.

And apart from that, it would be nice to at least be *able* to create
unprivileged users, which you cannot do with PK's defaults.

For that matter, it is unclear what PK means by "auth_admin", and I have
yet found no documentation to explain it.

Also, it is very unclear what one should do to avoid these "sensible
defaults", and if they cannot be avoided, then they aren't just
"defaults".

> For example, it doesn't make much sense to deny access to
> an USB camera or scanner to an user at a local console; he has
> physical access to those devices, after all.

Quite possibly so, but I would expect to be able to leave a USB
thumbdrive in the computer and not risk it being written to by any local
user who you haven't given any particular privilege to otherwise read it
(unlike e.g. pmount, which requires users to be part of the plugdev
group). Of course he'd be able to steal it and plug it into some other
computer if he has local access, but at least that would be noticed.

> Thus I am very much against making PK optional. It will only aggravate
> the confusion, since there will be systems which use PK and some which

Well, yeah, there will. I must admit that I don't see the problem with
that. There are systems which use NIS, and other which don't.

> History showed that device access privileges can't be sensibly
> mapped to and maintained with static group membership, so we should

Maybe, maybe not. I, for one, never had any problems with the static
group membership solution, so I can't really say that "history has
showed that it cannot be done"... Furthermore, it is precisely *because*
there should be exactly one system of verifying privileges that I oppose
PK, because POSIX already defines that system. With PK there are two
systems, and even worse, any given user gets the union, not the
intersection, of the privileges granted by each. If it were the
intersection, I wouldn't object. This way, as I've said, users are
getting granted privileges without me even knowing it.

How about creating a special group for all users that can have
privileges granted by PK?

As for being compatible with the rest of the world, I resent that
statement. There are different distros because not everyone wants to use
the exact same thing.

I don't mean to sound offensive, but why did you change your mind?
Surely it wasn't just to be like everyone else?

I don't say "adopt the package" but "prepare a QA upload" that means
to do a one-time upload, under the QA team umbrela to fix problems
with orphaned packages; google for it and you'll find several
references.

so you do care to fix this bug at least, that warrants a QA upload, IMO

wrong. prepare the pacakge, upload to mentors.debian.net and then sent
a RFS mail on debian-ment...@lists.debian.org ; here too google for
those bits of information for additional references.

I doubt that this behaviour is allowed. "Not implemented" is a response
to the query type, aka standard query or inverse query, not to the
contents of the query.[1]

This behaviour also violates the transparency considerations.[2]

Alright. I'm still working on getting xbmc to use system libs instead of the
internal libs included with the xbmc source. I've had a setback with ffmpeg
where
I had to drop back to using the internal libs for ffmpeg. I haven't gotten
around
to fixing this.

As with the FHS issue, I think this will be a trivial fix anyway so once xbmc
uses system libs, then an upload to Debian will surely follow soon.

For anyone wondering, there's a 99.9% chance there won't be an upload for the
release of XBMC 9.04 to Debian. :-(

Bug#527007: gstreamer0.10: FTBFS: subst in debian patch misformed

Package: libgstreamer0.10-0
Version: 0.10.22-3
Severity: grave

Tags: patch
Justification: renders package unusable

In Ubuntu Karmic, this package FTBFS.
As a reference, see these build logs [1] & [2].

The problem comes from the patch named
90_dont-link-gstcheck-with-check.patch:
The subst function doesn't handle commas in its parameters and needs a
new variable containing a comma as a workaround (for more information,
see gnumake's manual [3]).

I provided this debdiff [4] for Ubuntu but we would appreciate if this
fix can be introduced in Debian.

Thank you.

That's probably why some people reported success with this version of
the code, as in their case only one answer is received.

The problem is that the glibc considers NotImpl as an unrecoverable
failure, as it applies to the opcode type (here query), not to the
content of the query. Taking into account every possible answer
engineers have imagined to says that a DNS software does not support
query (while there is a correct way to say that) is not something
easy to do in the glibc.

Your router is buggy. According to the RFC it answers that it does not
support queries.

Bug#526886: Future plans with kvirc.

2009-05-04 Thread Raúl Sánchez Siles
  Hello:

Thank you very much for reporting this bug.

Actually, kvirc latest stable version is 3.4.2 whereas either Lenny, testing
and sid provides 3.4.0 with some changes from 3.4.2. The Lenny freeze happened
before KVirc 3.4.2 was released but we still had the chance to take some fixes
from KVirc before Lenny was released.

Now KDE4 is already on sid we are focusing on having what will be released
as KVirc 4 in the archive soon. We think that it's worthwhile focusing on
KVirc4.

Regarding the KVirc homepage, well it's true that http://www.kvirc.net has
had major downtime, but it's not decided yet wether it will stop being the
official homepage . Chances are that it will be moved to http://www.kvirc.de
Sure this issue will be fixed on next debian KVirc package.

  Currently both webs are working.

  Regard,

Bug#526854: [Pkg-utopia-maintainers] Bug#526854: hal: HAL should not require PolicyKit

2009-05-04 Thread Martin Pitt
Fredrik Tolf [2009-05-04 21:37 +]:
> Just in case I wasn't clear enough, my argument is this: Without
> PolicyKit, I had to take explicit action in order to grant privileges to

That's not an inherent property of PK vs. groups, but a matter of
default configuration. E. g. the installer used to put the default
user into plugdev, powerdev, etc., and users-admin (from
gnome-system-tools) did similar things for a "desktop user". Likewise,
there are PolicyKit privileges which you don't have as an user, for
good reason (like mounting an internal hard disk).

The job of us as a distro is to provide a sensible default
configuration which provides a good balance between security and
usability. For example, it doesn't make much sense to deny access to
an USB camera or scanner to an user at a local console; he has
physical access to those devices, after all. On the other hand, an
user logging in through ssh should arguably not have these
capabilities.

Thus I am very much against making PK optional. It will only aggravate
the confusion, since there will be systems which use PK and some which
don't. History showed that device access privileges can't be sensibly
mapped to and maintained with static group membership, so we should
settle to _one_ system of verifying privileges, also to be compatible
with the rest of the world.

To be fair, I had very similar feelings like you when I heared about
PK the first time, since it seemed to be that ominous new thing which
opened root holes in the background. :-)

Just my € 0.02,

Martin

Bug#523596: problem of 523596 is in graphicsmagick

2009-05-04 Thread Thomas Viehmann
reassign 523596 libgraphicsmagick1-dev
retitle 523596 Bogus cflags returned by GraphicsMagick-config

Hi Daniel,

thanks for maintaining graphicsmagick
$ GraphicsMagick-config --cflags
-fopenmp -Wall -g -fno-strict-aliasing -Wformat -Werror=format-security
-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -fstack-protector -fPIE -O2 -Wall -pthread

Not good. Here it is -fPIE causing trouble (FTBFS), but I do not think
that it has any business specifying any of the above. Similar
considerations probably apply to other options and other -config.

Kind regards

T.

Please do the following:
-
$ script
$ DEBCONF_DEBUG=developer aptitude install snort-pgsql
$ exit
-

Script generates a file called typescript in the current working
directory with all the output from screen. Please compress that file
and send it either to this bug report or to me privately (if it
contains confidential informacion).

Thanks,

Ah ok, __libc_res_nsend should to statp->retry queries, which by
default is 2 (confirmed by gdb).
send_dg() returns 1 (reply), the socket is then closed; return value
is 1 and control goes back to
__libc_res_nquery.

At this point we have the two answers:

hp = {id = 27765, rd = 1, tc = 1, aa = 0, opcode = 5, qr = 0, rcode =
1, cd = 0, ad = 0, unused = 0, ra = 1,
  qdcount = 128, ancount = 1, nscount = 2, arcount = 0}
hp2 = {id = 6, rd = 1, tc = 0, aa = 0, opcode = 0, qr = 1, rcode =
0, cd = 0, ad = 0, unused = 0, ra = 1,
  qdcount = 256, ancount = 512, nscount = 0, arcount = 0}

The error in first one is FORMERR (I'd expect NOTIMP...), which is
treated as an unrecoverable failure even if the second one succeeded.
answer contains a 76bytes of reply:

756c 2b81 8000 0100 0200 0003 6674 ul+...ft
7002 6974 0664 6562 6961 6e03 6f72 6700 p.it.debian.org.
0001 0001 c00c 0005 0001 02f5 000d
0366 7470 0462 6f66 6802 6974 00c0 2f00 .ftp.bofh.it../.
0100 0100 0063 9400 04d5 5c08.c\.

which seems sensible to me (ftp.it.debian.org is the name that I
request, and it's a CNAME for ftp.bofh.it).

To recap: my ADSL router receives two requests and sends back *two*
answers; to the A query it replies with the expected data, to the
query it replies "NotImpl" (see the tcpdump in the first email). When
both queries and sent in parallel __libc_res_nquery consider an
unrecoverable failure an error in any of the two (even if one of them
is valid): the logic should be reversed: the query was successful if
we get _at least_ one response.

After careful pondering I think that my router is actually sane (IOW,
it doesn't discard requests - it correctly replies that it does
not support that query); I think that it's a real bug in glibc.

Bug#526333: warning message in the default script

2009-05-04 Thread Cipta Herwana

Outputting a warning message to the default script might be
helpful, because then at least the user knows that the initramfs
isn't created instead of exiting silently:

Bug#525143: Same for vlc (no plugin)

2009-05-04 Thread Olivier Berger
Package: vlc
Version: 0.9.8a-3
Severity: normal

Just for the sake of completeness, it also happens whether iceweasel is running
or not, if vlc was used... so not specifically related to the browser plugin.

Any workaround ?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
