I've not been able to reproduce the crash after installing
libsoup2.4-dbg and libwebkit-1.0-2-dbg. The problem persists after
removing the debugging packages, though.

This is a serious bug as it makes installation fail, and violate
section 7.6.1 of the policy. Possible solutions are to have the two
packages conflict, to rename the common file in one of the two
packages, or to remove the file from one package and have this package
depend on the other package. File diversions or a Replace relation are
another possibility.

Here is a list of files that are known to be shared by both packages
(according to the Contents file for sid/amd64, which may be
slightly out of sync):

  usr/share/hunspell/de_DE.aff
  usr/share/hunspell/de_DE.dic
  usr/share/myspell/dicts/de_DE.aff
  usr/share/myspell/dicts/de_DE.dic

This bug is assigned to both packages. If you, the maintainers of
the two packages in question, have agreed on which of the packages will
resolve the problem please reassign the bug to that package.

Bug#513348: Announce of the upcoming NMU for the xmame package

2009-11-18 Thread Christian Perrier
Dear maintainer of xmame and Debian translators,

Some days ago, I sent a notice to the maintainer of the xmame Debian
package, mentioning the status of at least one old po-debconf translation
update in the BTS.

I announced the intent to build and possibly upload a non-maintainer upload
for this package in order to fix this long-time pending localization
bug as well as all other pending translations.

The package maintainer agreed for the NMU or did not respond in four
days, so I will proceed with the NMU.

The full planned schedule is available at the end of this mail.

The package is currently translated to:
cs de es eu fi fr gl it ja pt pt_BR ru sv vi

Among these, the following translations are incomplete: es eu gl pt_BR

If you did any of the, currently incomplete, translations you will get
ANOTHER mail with the translation to update.

Other translators also have the opportunity to create new translations
for this package. Once completed, please send them as a bug report
against the xmame package so I can incorporate them in the build.

The deadline for receiving updates and new translations is Wednesday, November
25, 2009. If you
are not in time you can always send your translation to the BTS.

The POT file is attached to this mail.

If the maintainer objects to this process I will immediately abort my NMU
and send him/her all updates I receive.

Otherwise the following will happen (or already has):

Saturday, November 14, 2009 : send the first intent to NMU notice to
 the package maintainer.
Thursday, November 19, 2009 : send this notice
Wednesday, November 25, 2009 : (midnight) deadline for receiving
translation updates
Thursday, November 26, 2009 : build the package and upload it to
DELAYED/7-day
send the NMU patch to the BTS
Thursday, December 03, 2009 : NMU uploaded to incoming

Thanks for your efforts and time.

[libselinux]: Do not ship /selinux

Shipping /selinux is a violation of the FHS, and is proscribed by
Debian policy. There is nothing that actually depends on /selinux
being present, possibly apart from user scripts. From this point on,
the machine operator will have to decide where to locate the mount
point for selinuxfs, and modify /etc/fstab accordingly. SELinux
modules scan for selinuxfs in /proc/mounts, so everything should
adjust to the location of the selinuxfs mount automatically.

Hi,

The following change has been committed for this bug by
 Manoj Srivastava on Thu, 19 Nov 2009 00:35:40 -0600.
The fix will be in the next upload.
=
Rework handling of XEN packages

So far, kernel-package would pay special attention to the
configuration files that enabled XEN hypervisor/guest images, mangling
the package name, and changing the file paths where the images were
dumped. This caused no end of confusion to third party tools, and also
surprised people when packages with different names had unexpected
file conflicts. With dpkg defaulting to --force-overwrite that could
be catastrophic. This is because a normal kernel image, a XenU or a
Xen0 image, all looked for modules in /lib/modules/$version, and would
conflict.

With this commit, kernel-package stops paying attention to the XEN
configuration hints in the config, producing a normal kernel image. If
users want to have a DomU or a Dom0 image from the same kernel
version, they will have to do what people wanting to run kernels witht
he same version with differing configurations have always had to do:
use --append-to-version to make the kernel images packages not
conflict.

I've just checked and it's actually the behavior by design: "provide
your email address *or* username".

Do you think that this is a problem? (personally, I think it's the
sensible behavior, because people who lost their password may have
forgotten their username too)

This sound like incorrect information in fstab. The noauto flag is
not used by fsck, the fsck pass number is. The sixth field must be 0
if you do not want the file system checked during boot.

What do you mean by “evolution trapping”? In the end, does the convert

Bug#555853: Patch

2009-11-18 Thread Christopher Schramm
Yes, you're right. The problem is the deprecated version 0.7 of
network-manager in Debian. Compiling blueman without hal, it uses newer
modules for NM, which fail with hal based 0.7.

Does anybody have a clue when to reckon an update of network-manager?

Bug#557043: libpcap-ruby1.8: /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/pcaplet.rb:77:in `=~': wrong type Regexp (expected Pcap::Packet) (TypeError)

2009-11-18 Thread Clinton Gower
Package: libpcap-ruby1.8
Version: 0.6-9.1
Severity: normal

Attempting to add two Filter objects to a Pcaplet object produces the error.

I have included sample code that will reproduce the error, along with a patch
to
/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/pcaplet.rb that seems to resolve the issue.

Simple code sample that reproduces the error:

#!/usr/bin/ruby
require 'pcaplet'

network = Pcaplet.new

# The first add_filter works correctly, but adding the second filter
produces the error.
network.add_filter(Pcap::Filter.new('src net 192.168.0.0/24',
network.capture))
network.add_filter(Pcap::Filter.new('dst port 80', network.capture))

network.close

exit(0)

Line 77 in pcaplet.rb uses a regular expression to check to see if @filter an
empty string.

If @filter is empty, then it is set to f. If f was a Filter object, then when
=~ is
used on @filter in the next add_filter call, it expects a Packet to come after
the =~
operator and fails.

The solution I found is to sanitize the f variable and make sure it is a string
before
it gets assigned to initialize the @filter variable. This is done by moving
line 80 up,
to before the if statement on line 77.

The patch I used on the /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/pcaplet.rb file is as follows:
76a77
> f = f.source if f.is_a? Filter
80d80
< f = f.source if f.is_a? Filter

After applying the patch, both Filter objects are successfully added without
error.

Regards,

Clinton Gower

While reading in the source a bit, I noticed that error handling for
memory allocation and I/O is mostly absent. I would think that that's
a bad thing for code that's supposed to handle important data.
At the very least, I think, the man page should point out that you
shouldn't trust the output data unless you have verified that each
share can be used for correct reconstruction.

Hello. thttpd is currently lacking support for the following ogg mime
types:

oga audio/ogg
ogv video/ogg

The included patch adds them to the mime_types.txt file in the source
which should allow them to be properly handled. It's important to get
these in now, with iceweasel 3.5's new native support for these mime
type.

Thanks for maintaining, and let me know if there are any other
questions.

partman is sometimes hard to cope with. An entirely new partitioning

This is documented. You can do it with boot options.

Much has been done to minimize this but the structure of the install

Bug#557038: webalizer: sample configuration for google is inadequate

2009-11-18 Thread Russell Coker
Package: webalizer
Version: 2.01.10-32.6
Severity: normal

The sample configuration for webalizer doesn't group Google referrals and
doesn't have a SearchEngine line for each Google domain.

For my own configuration I've moved the main webalizer.conf file to
/etc/webalizer/webalizer.conf.base and put the following in a Makefile
to generate the file that is really used:

webalizer.conf: webalizer.conf.base google-domains.txt Makefile
cp webalizer.conf.base webalizer.conf
for n in `cat google-domains.txt` ; do ( echo HideReferrer
www.$$n/search ; echo HideReferrer www.$$n/url ; echo HideReferrer
images.$$n/imgres ; echo HideReferrer blogsearch.$$n/ ; echo GroupReferrer
www.$$n/search Google Search ; echo GroupReferrer www.$$n/url Google Search ;
echo GroupReferrer images.$$n/imgres Google Image Search ; echo GroupReferrer
blogsearch.$$n/ Google Blogsearch ; echo SearchEngine $$n q= ) >>
webalizer.conf ; done

The google-domains.txt file has the following contents, note that I am not sure
that I have the complete list and I have not confirmed that every Google domain
is actually owned by Google (there is a possibility that one of them is a
squatted domain). But for the purposes of producing reliable webalizer output
this list is good enough. For my use it means that instead of having 30 Google
domains blocking all the other entries from my Referrer list I have three
Google entries for regular search, images search, and blog search. I'm sure
that there are other possibilities and I think that adding entries for video
search etc would be a good idea (but I don't have test data).

Passes all of 'make check', builds clean, passes our lintian checker (modulo
one warning) and runs our package. I'll upload this to Debian now, so feel
free to release this to the world at large.

Two issues remain for Iustin or whoever wants to adopt it: split off the
-lite library and headers, and fix the one harmless lintian warning.

I have been able to reproduce the problem here, it seems to be due to
the way crt*.o files are stripped. I have lost the .deb of -5, so I need
to do a rebuild of eglibc for more investigation.

Thanks for your bug report.

That's sounds like a WebKit bug I've just reported as
https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31658

Please try the following workaround:
1. Tools->Preferences->Browser->Disable Javascript
2. restart liferea

Bug#557035: gedit-latex-plugin: fails : wrong path while setting the master file

2009-11-18 Thread Nicolas Maître
Package: gedit-latex-plugin
Version: 0.2rc2-2
Severity: normal

Hi,
I've got an python error which prevents the plugin to work properly.
It occurs when I create a tex file (from terminal : gedit lala.tex) and
set the masterfile (to the already existing truc.tex, for example).

% gedit lala.tex
sys:1: GtkWarning: gtk_action_set_sensitive: assertion `GTK_IS_ACTION (action)'

master_content = open(master_file.path).read()

So the latex environment won't load.
But if I *save lala.tex* and close gedit, and then if I redo a "gedit
lala.tex", all's going right, the LaTeX bar appears etc...
It seems to be a little messy with the paths (I was thinking of something
related to urlparse ?)

If I don't save the file, I get somthing like that at the second run of 'gedit
lala.tex" :

Bug#556882: Please enable console-setup to leave kernel fonts alone

2009-11-18 Thread Dave Witbrodt
Package: console-setup
Version: 1.47
Severity: normal

In April 2009 I emailed debian-b...@lists.debian.org to request that
console-setup allow kernel fonts to be used without being replaced by
software fonts. Colin Watson responded, providing a fix: setting
FONTFACE and FONTSIZE to an empty string would prevent 'console-setup'
from loading software fonts, while it would still configure the keyboard
correctly.

Updating Sid recently brought in 'console-setup' v1.47. On my next
reboot, the 10x18 kernel font was replaced by a software font. I
suspected that the new 'console-setup' had overwritten my settings in
'/etc/default/console-setup', since such a bug had occured when these
changes were first introduced in April. However, I see no settings that
have been overwritten. The only possible difference I can see is that I
now have

FONTFACE=""
FONTSIZE=""

where I originally thought I had

FONTFACE=
FONTSIZE=

This should make no difference, however. The only other oddity I can
see in '/etc/default/console-setup' is unrelated to fonts: I previously
had

XKBMODEL="pc104"
XKBLAYOUT="us"
XKBVARIANT=""
XKBOPTIONS="lv3:ralt_switch"

in '/etc/default/console-setup', but these settings have moved to
'/etc/default/keyboard' (because of the new 'keyboard-configuration' package)
with the value of XKBMODEL lost:

XKBMODEL=""
XKBLAYOUT="us"
XKBVARIANT=""
XKBOPTIONS="lv3:ralt_switch"

The settings don't explain the change in behavior of 'console-setup'
regarding kernel fonts, so there must have been a change in its code.

I would like to second Josh Triplett's request to have the April-
November behavior restored, with 'console-setup' allowing kernel fonts
to be used without being overwritten by software fonts!

Thanks,
Dave W.

Bug#546527: More info on menu hang bug

2009-11-18 Thread John Eikenberry

I ran into this bug today and did a bit of digging. Thought I'd pass that
along.

First note that this bug effects all of the rxvt-unicode variants, not just
rxvt-unicode-ml. Also note that killing X11 isn't required, Ctrl-Alt-F1
still works to switch to the console where you can kill urxvt and un-freeze
X11.

First a resource dump.

Corresponding Ubuntu bug.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/archlinux/+source/rxvt-unicode/+bug/317366

rxvt-unicode ml threads (2 threads; links to first posts)
http://lists.schmorp.de/pipermail/rxvt-unicode/2009q3/001035.html
http://lists.schmorp.de/pipermail/rxvt-unicode/2009q3/001042.html

According to urxvt ml thread this is an xorg bug. Ubuntu applied the patch
from the second ml thread listed above, but upstream decided against it as
it was an xorg bug. They considered a compile time option for the
workaround but decided it 'broke' things and didn't belong in the urxvt
codebase.

The dev I spoke to on irc (schmorp) said he thought it was a decent enough
"temporary workaround" as long as it was removed once the xorg bug was
fixed. So I have attached the patch to this as a possible fix.

If you're looking to just prevent the hang you can disable the popup menus
via an .Xresources tweak.

I actually don't care which layout is default, but having an obvious

The computer is a new Intel core i7-860, Chipset P55, Gigabyte P55UD3p,
nVidia Geforce 9600GT. Two Seagate 1TB disks in mirrored RAID
configuration.

The fault initially occurred in the stable lenny distribution with
kernel 2.6.26.

I installed linux-image-2.6.31-1-amd64 from sid to see if it would go
away. It didn't.

A similar fault in linux-image-2.6.26-1-686 was reported in bug report
512617 in January 2009, and closed in July 2009.

History of my installation: Initially I installed the 32-bit version of
lenny: debian-502-i386-DVD-n.iso. When I booted the system, it wrote
WARNING messages from hpet.c at the rate of megabytes per minute. I then
installed the 64-bit version of lenny: debian-503-amd64-DVD-n.iso.

hpet.c:390 from linux-image-2.6.31-1-amd64 invokes WARN_ON_ONCE, but my
previous experience with the 32-bit distribution makes me believe that
the fault is in fact occurring many times per second, and hence I wonder
if there might be a performance hit.

Bug#511615: The user must be added to bluetooth group

2009-11-18 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva
I was having this problem and after reading this bug messages I checked
my /etc/dbus-1/system.d/bluetooth.conf and found that the group allowed to
access the devices is "bluetooth".

So now you must do:

# adduser bla bluetooth

Where bla is the user you want to grant access to the bluetooth devices.

I haven't restarted my session to see if it works because I don't want to
stop an important process now. But I'm sending this message before I forgot
to do it.

I will send a message telling if it works (if I remember)

After running "vbrfix in.mp3 out.mp3", I end up with two extra files

Having the FTBFSes around isn't an issue: they don't even prevent your
package from migrating. Please note that instead of blindly disabling
an architecture because of an FTBFS at a given point in time, it's
usually better to wait for a patch (possibly actively working on it;)
As an example, the FTBFS due to 'ant' is a debhelper bug, it wouldn't
have been nice to have disabled 2 archs just for that.

If a given architecture (or a couple of) was to slow down/prevent
migration, one could even think of removing the old binaries, so that
no archs would be out-of-date. But that's another story (see dd@ past
days).

Please don't restrict Architecture list.

Probably due to an overlook in 758ce0bb1f, the '-e' test on build.xml
disappeared, leading check_auto_buildable() to always return '1' for
the ant build system.

Perhaps it would be appropriate to set Architecture: to i386 and amd64
only for the moment until we have a change to resolve these issues? I
suspect I'll need to create the necessary patches as I doubt Mathieu
(upstream) has access to the hardware in which this package fails to
build.

What is your opinion on how best to proceed? Is it okay to allow the
FTBFS to exist while I work on the patches? Or is it better to disable
those architectures now and re-enable them once the build is working
again?

My bad. You are of course correct. I am aware of that C binding package, and
I did clearly misread the 'apt-cache rdepends' output -- two depends for
protobuf, not one.

I'm sorry, and I appreciate that you posted the correction.

Bug#556951: [binutils] objcopy fails with 'Invalid operation'

Is this a known problem with binutils-gold?

yes, I did see this as well recently.

Could it be that it is new with 2.20-3 or 2.20-4? I think I didn't saw that in
earlier version. I think I saw it the first time when compiling batctl - which
I compiled right after update of my Sources file. This was after the 11.
November.

I wanted to write a bug report right now but haven't a glue why it fails.

objcopy --only-keep-debug debian/batctl/usr/sbin/batctl
debian/batctl-dbg/usr/lib/debug//usr/sbin/batctl

seems to work without any problems. The real problem is

objcopy --add-gnu-debuglink debian/batctl-dbg/usr/lib/debug//usr/sbin/batctl
debian/batctl/usr/sbin/batctl

So a small test would be:

$ echo 'int main() { return 0; }'>  test.c&&  \
  gcc -g3 test.c -o test&&  \
  objcopy --only-keep-debug test test.dbg&&  \
objcopy --add-gnu-debuglink=./test.dbg test&& echo "cool it works"
objcopy:stCdJOm4: cannot create debug link section `./test.dbg': Invalid
operation

This works with the old linker, but not with binutils-gold

So I build the cvs version of the linker and objcopy and it is the same here.
So it is propably an upstream bug.

I only see this when upgrading to current glibc in unstable; not with testing.

Right. Which caught me. My first emails to Iustin about the NMU mentioned the
'5' soname.

Still just one package: mumble (as mumble and mumble-server come from the
same source package, hence count as one, and protobuf-c-compiler comes from
protobuf itself and counts as zero leaving exactly one package -- mumble).

I am merely mentioning that other than 'very formal by the books and rules'
play one can also show a bit of lattitude, rebuild mumble _now_ while also
updating protobuf.

Anyway, I'll stop this now and get some work done. As I said earlier: Sorry
again about the breakage, thanks to Iusting for the initial package and I
hope he comes back to protobuf at some point.

narrowness doesn't enter into it; package renames due to SONAME bumps

Debian Policy Manual
Chapter 8 - Shared libraries

8.1 Run-time shared libraries

The run-time shared library needs to be placed in a package whose name
changes whenever the shared object version changes.

in this case it was an upstream bug that the SONAME was not increased,
and three packages (mumble, mumble-server, protobuf-c-compiler), not

| This is just wrong and broken library maintenance, no matter what excuses you
| try to use.
|
| The minimal things to do when packaging a new upstream version of a library
is
| to check wether it breaks the ABI or not, and if yes, then act appropriately.
|
| So how did you check the ABI?

I ran it against our new in-progress RProtoBuf binding, and it broke. I ran
the protobud example _and it ran_ albeit spewing out a message. I contact
debian-release. I trusted upstream with the libtool 4.0.0 setting. So I made
mistake, as did the maintainer (who has been sitting on a new upstream for
three months and a bugreport about it for a months) and so has upstream as we
now know. Do we really gain anything by engaging in pissing matches?

|
| protobuf is a library also used for many homemade applications that aren't in
| debian (yet?) and you also break these this way.
|
| You can also try to just rename the package as a minimum, but unfriendly to
| the rest of debian (And users of the library not in debian).

That's not solution.

| Using "avoiding NEW" to justify this is just plain wrong.

I didn't suggest that. I just pointed out the obvious that the mumble team
can rebuild RIGHT NOW which gets a fix to their users faster than waitning
for 2.2.0a with a new major soname.

| To quote the /topic of the #debian-release channel:
| | Breaks for SONAME changes instead of package renames? Think again!

Very Cool.

Now why don't you join the debian-release list and reply to my requests for
help before breakage occurs rather than do your grandstanding afterwards?

Dirk

2009-11-18 Thread Sébastien Aperghis-Tramoni

Christian Sánchez wrote:

Hi Sebastien,
what's the status of this package? Do you need any help? I can help
you with this, I'm using this module for a little project already.

As for all the other packages I created tickets for, the problem I
have is that debian-perl wants to use DebHelper 7 for all the
packages, while I need to use DebHelper 5 because most of our
production platform is still in sarge and etch. All the packages I
proposed actually exists, but only in our private repositories, with
DH5. Converting them to DH7 for Debian means we'd have to backport
them for sarge and etch, which is not possible. But given we're in
process to migrate to Ubuntu, it will be easier to contribute these
packages, even in DH7.

If you want the package right now, I can privately send it to you.

That is correct if you narrowly play by the book, but in the grand scheme of
things it is still somewhat silly that among 8k or 9k source packages we do
these dances for packages whose 'dependency graph' has one edge and one
further package.

Anyway, it's moving the right way and Debian finally gets a proper 2.2
version of ProtoBuf.

Kenton, nice to meet you -- a co-author and I will contact you in a bit about
a neat new ProtoBuf language binding for GNU R with pretty nice reflection
etc pp. Had I know that your plan was to bump sonames each times I would
have contacted you late week / this weekend while I prepared this release
stepping in for the nominal maintainer Iusty.

This is just wrong and broken library maintenance, no matter what excuses you
try to use.

The minimal things to do when packaging a new upstream version of a library is
to check wether it breaks the ABI or not, and if yes, then act appropriately.

So how did you check the ABI?

protobuf is a library also used for many homemade applications that aren't in
debian (yet?) and you also break these this way.

You can also try to just rename the package as a minimum, but unfriendly to
the rest of debian (And users of the library not in debian).

Using "avoiding NEW" to justify this is just plain wrong.

To quote the /topic of the #debian-release channel:
| Breaks for SONAME changes instead of package renames? Think again!

Bug#557019: Problems with ANSI-colors

2009-11-18 Thread Juhapekka Tolvanen

Package: debconf
Version: 1.5.28
Severity: important

dpkg-reconfigure has these problems with ANSI-colorsi, when using
dialog-frontend:

1) It can not reliably detect, if current terminal type can support
colors.

2) There is no way to force usage of ANSI-colors (just like option -c in
mc (Midnight Commander)). I checked both "man dpkg-reconfigure" and
"dpkg-reconfigure -h".

3) When it starts without ANSI-colors, it unsuccesfully tries to use
color differences in order to show pointer. I am mean chosen entry has
red background. I am quite sure that even when ANSI-color support works,
some color-blind people may be very upset.

Here are screenshots that demonstrate that problem:

http://iki.fi/juhtolv/tmp/bugreports/debconf/01/

In that screenshot called dpkg-reconfigure_xterm-256color.png I run
dpkg-reconfigure under xterm that uses terminal type called xterm-256color.

In that screenshot dpkg-reconfigure_screen-256color-s.png I run
dpkg-reconfigure under GNU screen that runs under xterm and terminal
type is screen-256color-s . I'd like to use terminal type
screen-256color-bce-s , but it is not possible because of bug #491812 .

Indeed, the zero-share is not useful since in theory it'd be the data
unchanged.

The software should reject zero-share instances, and not create them.

I'm happy for you to supply me with a bundle, or I can sort it out
myself, whichever you would prefer.

then that's the bug.

i saw that preference option and thought "that's useless. i don't care
much whether i see the shortcuts or not, i want to be able to disable
them".

it shouldn't be called "SHOW menu shortcuts". that wording means that
that function merely enables/disables the display of the keybindings in
the menus.

if it really disables the keybindings then it should be called "DISABLE
menu shortcuts" rather than "SHOW".

Bug#556563: protobuf and mumble

2009-11-18 Thread Kenton Varda
Bumping the soname is part of our release process, since C++ ABI
compatibility is practically impossible to maintain. Unfortunately, if SVN
is to be believed, it appears that somehow this didn't happen with the 2.2.0
release. And here I thought I had finally done a release without screwing
anything up!

I guess I will do a 2.2.0a which does nothing but fix this. I'd like to
avoid changing the last digit there because it would create a bunch of new
ways that I could screw up.

Bug#553110: hercules: postinst-must-call-ldconfig

2009-11-18 Thread Simon McVittie
tags 553110 + patch
thanks

On Wed, 28 Oct 2009 at 23:56:37 -0500, Manoj Srivastava wrote:
> Refer to Debian Policy Manual section 8.1.1 (ldconfig) for details.

I started to prepare an NMU for this. The libraries in Hercules don't seem
to be intended for system-wide use, and don't have proper SONAMEs; however,
when I tried to link them statically the build failed.

Comments in the Makefile.am claim that it's necessary to have them shared
for some reason (perhaps related to the presence of plugins), and also
explain that they're using -avoid-version for cosmetic reasons (avoiding
"strange" DLL names on Windows. Sigh). In any case, switching from
upstream-provided build stuff to re-running autofoo during the build seems
rather intrusive for an NMU...

I think the right thing to do is to divert the libraries into
/usr/lib/hercules. The attached is as far as I got before I spotted that
debian/copyright doesn't actually contain the distribution license. I've
started to aggregate the copyright statements but got distracted by a critical
bug in one of my own packages.

For my own reference, things remaining to do to be able to NMU this with a
clear conscience:

* paste the distribution license from the upstream website onto the end of
debian/copyright (it's the QPL, referenced by, but not included in, COPYING)
* investigate the possibility of running $(MAKE) modexecdir=/usr/lib/hercules

Bug#552208: Default layout missing

2009-11-18 Thread Stephan Thamm
The default rc.lua actually never sets a layout for the tags. This
results in the floating layout to be used.

The best thing would be to set the layout to the first layout defined in
the layouts array. This is the way it was done before and seems to be
the most user friendly way to manage this. I guess it was removed
accidentally with the new way of creating tags.

I fixed the problem on my machine with this patch for rc.lua:

Bug#557018: texlive-extra-utils: please add Conflicts/Replaces purifyeps

2009-11-18 Thread Cédric Boutillier
Package: texlive-extra-utils
Version: 2009-1
Severity: normal

Hi!

texlive-extra-utils contains /usr/bin/purifyeps, which is also provided
by the "purifyeps" package. If purifyeps is installed together with
texlive 2007, dpkg complains about the conflict during the upgrade to
texlive-extra-utils 2009.

Could you add a Conflicts/Replaces purifyeps dependency, to facilitate
the upgrade?

Thank you!

Best regards,

Cédric

-- Package-specific info:
If you report an error when running one of the TeX-related binaries
(latex, pdftex, metafont,...), or if the bug is related to bad or wrong
output, please include a MINIMAL example input file that produces the
error in your report. Don't forget to also include minimal examples of
other files that are needed, e.g. bibtex databases. Often it also helps
to include the logfile. Please, never send included pictures!

If your example file isn't short or produces more than one page of
output (except when multiple pages are needed to show the problem),
you can probably minimize it further. Instructions on how to do that
can be found at

Bug#555853: Patch

Enabling HAL in the configure script worked to resolve this bug for me.
Attached is a patch for the blueman source package that will configure
the build correctly. The patch also removes the currently unrecognized
configure option --disable-runtime-deps-check.
