It's in 1.3.10-3:

  * debian/control: Drop ghostscript build dependency again, pdftops filter
uses poppler again. Also Drop alternative xpdf-utils build dependency,
since configure now checks for poppler's pdftops capabilities.

Also, poppler-utils' pdftops supports -origpagesizes which is required
for correct handling of mixed portrait/landscape documents.

Hm, not sure how to fix that; perhaps an additional Breaks:
xpdf-utils?

Bug#533817: muparser: FTBFS on Debian GNU/Hurd [Patch]

2009-11-24 Thread Gudjon I. Gudjonsson
Hi Barry
Ingo and Francesco have upgraded the build system.
$ build/autoconf/acregen.sh works now.
Can you please test if it works. I have made an unofficial Debian package out
of the svn version. I will make a patch if it works.
http://gudjon.org/debian/muparser/

I am not so optimistic because I didn't find any
*-*-gnu*
pattern in any of the build scripts and neither in the config.sub or
config.guess files. Do you know how this pattern is generated in general in
gnu/hurd?

Cheers
Gudjon

Fortunately, upstream seem to be aware of this omission and has fixed
it. The ChangeLog from the above URL now includes:

2009-11-02: v. 0.6.1
- fixed install script to process/package all files correctly

The tarballs there for version 0.6.1 now appear to include source SVG
files and build scripts.

openvpn only recommends net-tools, but I think that ifconfig is essential to
OpenVPN use, so it should be a dependency.

Add-ons often provide the possibility of gaining additional traits or

No, it used jpegtran, as I commented in that bug.

Unfortunately the patch has been later removed from upstream svn.

Anyway writing the plugins (desktop files) for actions you want should
be pretty easy.

I am currently bootstraping it, but on a very slow machine. The build
has been started a few days ago, and will probably finish by tomorrow
(currently running the testsuite).

I agree, but this is hard due to that the 3.0.22 version is
in stable and stable is only updated because of really important bugs
like data corruption or serious security fixes.

However it depends on the percieved severity of this issue. It is a
form of data corruption so it may be possible. What is your opinion on this
matter?

What I can do is to backport this to the version in stable (3.0.23) but
I'm not sure it is worth it as the 3.0.24 should be available quite soon.
Kir may know more in this area.

Best regards,

Nicklas: can you tell us which backend caused your problem ? Also please
send the design that caused this issue.

Also, I sent this message a few days ago, and (as usual) I forgot to CC
the bug submitter (which is you this time):

Can this be tested again using geda-gnetlist 1.4.3, against guile
1.8.7 (which is currently in Debian) please ?

Or can someone give me steps needed to reproduce the problem ?

Note, earlier I tested gnetlist as follows:

gnetlist -g protelII -o /tmp/test.net TwoStageAmp.sch

And I didn't get any problems.

Bug#557904: udev: broken write_interfaces_rules in postinst

2009-11-24 Thread Michael Biebl
Package: udev
Version: 147-5
Severity: normal

Hi,

there is the following code in postinst
write_interfaces_rules() {
  local devpath
  for devpath in /sys/class/net/*; do
INTERFACE=${devpath##*/} \
udevadm test --action=add --subsystem-match=net $devpath > /dev/null || true
  done
}

When installing udev for the first time (in a chroot) I get the following:
Setting up udev (147-5) ...
run_command: calling: test
udevadm_test: version 147
test: unrecognized option '--subsystem-match=net'

I see a few issues here:
1/ Apparently --subsystem-match=net is no longer a recognized option of
   the test action.
2/ If /sys/class/net/ does not exist or is empty, this will lead to a broken
   file expansion, i.e. a "[ -d "$devpath ] || continue" check or
something like this should be added.
3/ Unless INTERFACE is some magic environment variable it does not seem
   to be used.

Cheers,
Michael

Kill a message? You mean a message you are composing? VM does
not itself do anything to write/compose email, it just defers to what
Emacs has. If this is happening during outgoing message composition,
you need to figure out where emacs23 is going wrong.

There is a new version in (2.2~rc3.hg396~dfsg1-3) in unstable, and it
should migrate to testing in a couple of days. It should not be affected
by this issue. Could you try that?

In the meanwhile I am trying to understand how to prevent this to happen

Thanks for reporting the bug,

man pages are not displaying correctly, I see accented characters and

I have tried here, and the running architecture still has the priority
over binfmt.

The problem of excluding the running architecture is that you have to
use a map between qemu and debian architecture, and the map is not
always 1:1. For example qemu-arm executes both arm and armel code.
OTOH sparc code can be executed either by qemu-sparc or
qemu-sparc64abi32 depending if it needs a 32 or 64-bit CPU.

Package: oss4-base

In addition, there is *NO* documentation about what to do and how
to configure this package or achive some swithcing result.

Bug#557804: vm: does not conform to RFC 822 skipping

2009-11-24 Thread srivasta
Hi,

I opened up the error.txt in VM (after adding a From line at
top), to simulate a new mbox folder, and hit F. You can see the
results below (I do not use supercite).

So, this seems more like a problem in your setup, or possibly
with supercite, and not VM proper. I think this bug should be
 reassigned to supercite.

Package: ttf-root-installer
Version: 5.18.00-2.3~lenny1(lenny)5.24.00-1(sid)

Its function is downloading and installing the fonts provided by Microsoft,
in fact, these fonts are known as Microsoft True Type Core Fonts for the Web .
But there also have another package that has the same functionality,
it's ttf-mscorefonts-installer,
exists in lenny,squeeze and sid.

I suggest that cancel the one of them.

I guess than even if it doesn't solve this FTBFS in the end, it'd be
nice if you could apply this patch anyway, so that we can track
sound-related FTBFSes appropriately.

Build logs at the usual place:
https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?suite=unstable&p=vmpk

Notes: Nothing urgent here, that's just “tweaking” an FTBFS. Not tagging
with patch since the attached patch doesn't fix the FTBFS.

And while preparing this mail, I tried to look into tweaking the build
system to fake I was on Linux (remember libsalsa? :)), and the FTBFS
turned into yet another form, very salsa-is-limited like:
| /usr/lib/ccache/c++   -g -O2  -Wl,-z,defs CMakeFiles/vmpk.dir/moc_about.cxx.o

Bug#555394: os-prober: similar situation here

2009-11-24 Thread The Anarcat
Package: os-prober
Version: 1.35
Severity: normal

I'm seeing something similar here. However, I am able to make the
partition be detected from the Debian GNU/Linux "sid" side by first
doing:

mount -t ufs -o ro,ufstype=ufs2 /dev/hda1 /mnt

I got the hint from the error message:

Nov 24 23:11:56 lenny os-prober: debug: running
/usr/lib/os-probes/50mounted-tests on /dev/hda1
Nov 24 23:11:56 lenny kernel: [ 500.924369] You didn't specify the type of
your ufs filesystem
Nov 24 23:11:56 lenny kernel: [ 500.924374]
Nov 24 23:11:56 lenny kernel: [ 500.924376] mount -t ufs -o

Nov 24 23:11:56 lenny kernel: [ 500.924382] >>>WARNING<<< Wrong ufstype may
corrupt your filesystem, default is ufstype=old
Nov 24 23:11:56 lenny kernel: [ 500.924695] ufs_read_super: bad magic number

Now, os-prober finds the partition but mis-detects it as Debian
GNU/Linux (as opposed to GNU/kFreeBSD):

# os-prober
/dev/hda1:Debian GNU/Linux (squeeze/sid):Debian:linux

update-grub also detects gnu/linux and creates an incorrect boot menu
for it:

[...]
Found Debian GNU/Linux (squeeze/sid) on /dev/hda1

Oddly enough, it doesn't actually add anything to the grub.cfg... But
that's a separate issue, I guess...

A.

sounds better indeed. Will consider this once the package has aged a
bit in experimental and got polishing if needs be, probably while
pushing it to unstable if everything's fine.

Bug#557896: Package QA is getting

2009-11-24 Thread jamesb
Package: complaint
Version: stability package:gambas2
Severity: normal

I'm very dissapointed with the QA team letting packages like gambas2 and
opencascade getting into the stable branch.
Gambas is absolutely not functional and as well as opencascade.

Sorry to say QA for debian is getting horrible. Perhaps there should be more
organization-- cut out new packages not well tested
enough or used enough and place them directly into backports.

The more packages that go into stable means that more dysfunctional programs
get into this repository for nothing.

They simply "don't work".

AFAICT from configure.ac, we indeed want to link against libcam through
-lcam, so you'd have to add libcam-dev to your Build-Depends, for both
kfreebsd-amd64 and kfreebsd-i386. Since I'm not totally sure, I'm
putting -bsd@ in X-D-Cc for peer-review.

Bug#557895: python-networkx: short description not clear

2009-11-24 Thread Rogério Brito

Hi, kibi.

The short description of python-networkx is not really informative with
the "more than complex networks" part. Can something be "more than
complex"?

Wouldn't that be simply "complex"?

Bug#557894: libtexttools: FTBFS on kfreebsd-*: undefined SIGPWR

2009-11-24 Thread Cyril Brulebois
Package: libtexttools
Version: 2.0.5-2
Severity: important
Tags: patch
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: kfreebsd

Hi,

your package FTBFS on GNU/kFreeBSD since there's no SIGPWR there. Given
I don't talk ada, I don't know how to conditionalize this bit of
signals.ads, but I had it built by attaching HandlePowerFailure to
SIGWINCH instead (as it's done some lines below). The idea was to check
whether there were other issues, and it looks like there's none. Could
you please fix it properly?

I'm tagging it with patch since the exact cause of the FTBFS is tracked
down. If you want any test build before uploading, sending a patch
against the package in any Debian suite or a link to a .dsc is very OK,
I'll try and follow up ASAP.

As usual, build logs are at:
  https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?suite=unstable&p=libtexttools

Thanks for considering.

Mraw,
KiBi.

Bug#557892: RFH: hfsprogs -- mkfs and fsck for HFS and HFS+ file systems

2009-11-24 Thread Rogério Brito
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I would kindly request assistance with maintaining the hfsprogs package,
which is a pair of programs for mkfs and fsck for HFS/HFS+ filesystems.

The package is developed by Apple, but only a small fraction of the
package is actually used. The current packages in Debian use source code
from Apple's MacOS X 10.4 version (codenamed Tiger).

The original patches adapting things to Linux that I got were monolithic
and I cleaned them up, broken them up (for ease of future work) and
were ported forward against some 5 or 6 (I forgot how many) upstream
releases, but still in the 10.4.x branch of their filesystem.

Now, things are getting cleaner and I have started porting the patches
against the first MacOS X 10.5 version, and most of the patches are
already appliable against that version (with the exception of one
patch).

The package has no bugs in its current version, has no lintian
warnings/errors (when using a new lintian version) and is packaged with
format "3.0 (quilt)".

In other words, it is in a mostly sane situation, but as is a tautology,
things can be improved.

There are some things to do and I would kindly appreciate some help with
the forward porting the patches.

The package long description:

,
| The HFS+ file system used by Apple Computer for their Mac OS is
| supported by the Linux kernel. Apple provides mkfs and fsck for
| HFS+ with the Unix core of their operating system, Darwin.
| .
| This package is a port of Apple's tools for HFS+ filesystems.
| .
| For users, HFS+ seems to be a good compromise to carry files between
| MacOS X and Linux Machines, as HFS+ doesn't suffer the problems of
| FAT32 like:
| .
|   * huge space waste (in slack space as devices grow faster);
| * ability to create files that are more than 4GB in size (especially
| good for those working with multimedia and that need to carry large
| ISO files);
|   * ability to use case preserving (and even sensitivity!);
| * ability to use uid's and gid's on the filesystem.
| .
| Users in general can enjoy such benefits since it is expected to have
| more HFS+ filesystems in use, as Apple has announced Macintoshes for
| ix86-64, besides the filesystem being already supported by PowerPC
| systems since the beginning.

Bug#557890: lfc: implicit pointer conversions

This is often due to a missing function prototype definition.
For more information, see [2].

Though it is guaranteed that this codepath will cause a segfault on certain
architectures, it is not guaranteed that this codepath would ever be executed
(e.g., if the returned pointer is never dereferenced). However, this bug
does prevent the ia64 buildd from successfully building this package, resulting
in a practical FTBFS issue and warranting the serious severity.

Bug#557888: Playback() on an iax channel causes asterisk to hang indefinitly

2009-11-24 Thread Christoph Kling
Package: asterisk
Version: 1:1.6.2.0~dfsg~rc1-1
Severity: important

Hello,

when I am using Playback() on an iax channel, the sound is very choppy at the
beginning. After some seconds, the playback stops and the playing asterisk
server does not continue to send audio to the client asterisk.

Here is the console log from the playing asterisk:

-- Executing [*...@sip-in:1] Answer("IAX2/interlink-5309", "") in new stack
-- Executing [*...@sip-in:2] Wait("IAX2/interlink-5309", "2") in new stack
-- Executing [*...@sip-in:3] Playback("IAX2/interlink-5309", "agent-pass")
in new stack
-- Playing 'agent-pass.gsm' (language 'de')

Even after more than two minutes, there is neither any sound nor does the
playing asterisk server cancel in any way. My setup consists of two asterisk
servers being connected. The client asterisk connects the iax channel to a sip
channel. Enabling or disabling jitterbuffer does not change the behaviour.

tcpdump showed me that the client asterisk server is continuing to send packets
while the playing asterisk server does send some packets every five seconds or
so.

I used gsm on both connections (asterisk <-> asterisk <-> sip) because the
original
sound file is also gsm.

Tests with a direct iax connection from my sip client to the playing asterisk
gave
the same result (client used: kiax/win32). If I use sip to connect to the
playing
asterisk server directly, everything is fine! The problem occurs only with iax.

core show channel IAX2/interlink-5309 gives the following output (while
hanging):

Thanks, fixed in the repository, next release of packages will not
ship latexmk but suggest it.

Bug#523639: 523639: xcdroast breakage

2009-11-24 Thread Yoshio Nakamura
package xcdroast
tags 523639 + patch
forcemerge 523639 526478
thanks

Hi Hector,

The xcdroast package has the following patches in debian/patches/series:
06_man.patch
07_case_cmp.patch
08_desktop.patch
#09_share_dir.patch
10_cddbtool.patch
#11_mkisofs_options.patch -p0
#13_cdrecord_to_wodim.patch -p0
14_atapi_to_oldatapi.patch
15_no_readcd_version.patch

There is also a patch 12_cdrecord_versions.patch, which is also not applied.

Bug 523639 is caused by patch 13_cdrecord_to_wodim.patch not being applied.
As Stanislav Maslovski notes, wodim (now?) returns the version
string to stderr instead of stdout. If I could figure out quilt, I
would send a patch
for this package.

Yoshio

Bug#557886: gnome-panel: Switch to PolicyKit1 not complete

2009-11-24 Thread Michael Biebl
Package: gnome-panel
Version: 2.28.0-2

Hi,

although the changelog says, that the package has been switched to
PolicyKit 1.0, it still build-depends on PolicyKit 0.9 packages, namely

 libpolkit-gnome-dev and libpolkit-dbus-dev

Those two b-dep should be removed.

Cheers,
Michael

Next time you close a bug, please look at the original report.
I never filed this against dpkg, it was reassigned by the maintainer
of the package it was filed against.

The original bug AFAICS is still there.

Bug#557885: cups: strictly Depends: on poppler-utils, no more xpdf-utils

2009-11-24 Thread Luca Capello
Package: cups
Version: 1.4.1-5
Severity: normal

Hi there!

The latest uploaded version introduced a strict dependency on
poppler-utils >= 0.12.  Previously, the dependency was "poppler-utils |
xpdf-utils" and indeed I could have cups installed with xpdf-utils. Now
this is not possible anymore and the debian/changelog does not contain
any useful information about that.

Given that xpdf-utils Provides: poppler-utils, this could also be a bug
in the package manager or in the poppler- or xpdf-utils packages, since:

- `apt-get upgrade` on my sid keeps cups on hold, since it requires
poppler-utils which Conflicts: with xpdf-utils, but install all the
  other cups* packages

- `apt-get install cups` on a clean sid chroot, where only xpdf-utils
(thus nothing Depends: on it) is installed, simply removes xpdf-utils
  and installs poppler-utils

- `aptitude install cups` on the same clean sid chroot above complains
  with the following output
  =
  r...@gismo:/# aptitude install cups
  [...]
  The following packages are BROKEN:
poppler-utils xpdf-utils
  [...]
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
poppler-utils: Conflicts: xpdf-utils but 3.02-1.4+lenny1 is installed.
xpdf-utils: Conflicts: poppler-utils but 0.12.0-2.1 is to be installed.
The following actions will resolve these dependencies:

Keep the following packages at their current version:
  cups [Not Installed]
  poppler-utils [Not Installed]
  =

Nevertheless, I cannot upgrade cups :-(

Thx, bye,
Gismo / Luca

Bug#557884: dpm-client: Package description is not very useful

2009-11-24 Thread Sami Liedes
Package: dpm-client
Version: 1.7.3.1-2
Severity: minor

Hi,

The description for the dpm-client package (and AFAICT the rest of the
dpm packages are similar) is:

Disk Pool Manager (DPM) client
Command line interfaces for the Disk Pool Manager (DPM)

This is not very useful. After reading the description, I don't have
the slightest clue about what "the Disk Pool Manager (DPM)" is, except
that it's apparently a piece of network-related software (because the
section of the package is net).

A brief description of DPM in the package descriptions would probably
be useful.

Sami

Bug#491061: mouse side buttons stopped working

2009-11-24 Thread Paul LeoNerd Evans
Package: xserver-xorg-input-evdev
Version: 1:2.2.5-1
Severity: normal

Actually I've found even worse. My side buttons aren't reported as
buttons at all.

Strangely, something happens, just what it is that happens isn't a mouse
press event:

Normal mouse buttons do this in xev:

ButtonPress event, serial 30, synthetic NO, window 0x321,
  root 0xdd, subw 0x0, time 2617592264, (110,89), root:(125,149),

ButtonRelease event, serial 30, synthetic NO, window 0x321,

  state 0x100, button 1, same_screen YES

ButtonPress event, serial 30, synthetic NO, window 0x321,
  root 0xdd, subw 0x0, time 2617593897, (110,89), root:(125,149),
  state 0x0, button 2, same_screen YES

ButtonRelease event, serial 30, synthetic NO, window 0x321,

  state 0x200, button 2, same_screen YES

ButtonPress event, serial 30, synthetic NO, window 0x321,
  root 0xdd, subw 0x0, time 2617594784, (110,89), root:(125,149),
  state 0x0, button 3, same_screen YES

ButtonRelease event, serial 30, synthetic NO, window 0x321,
  root 0xdd, subw 0x0, time 2617594887, (110,89), root:(125,149),
  state 0x400, button 3, same_screen YES

The mouse wheel is reported as fake buttons 4/5:

ButtonPress event, serial 30, synthetic NO, window 0x321,
  root 0xdd, subw 0x0, time 2617597121, (110,89), root:(125,149),

But pressing the thumb buttons yields only this:

Bug#557883: lintian: false positive in lib-recommends-documentation (name vs. content)

2009-11-24 Thread Jay Berkenbilt
Package: lintian
Version: 2.2.18
Severity: normal

*** Please type your report below this line ***

lintian is reporting lib-recommends-documentation on the libvips-tools
package. This is a false positive because libvips-tools is not a
library package. Perhaps it should be called something different, like
vips-tools, but I think the real problem is that lintian is assuming a
library package based on the package name rather than the package
contents. The libvips-tools package contains no .so.* files. In fact,
it doesn't even contain any lib directories.

I think this test would be better implemented to check the contents of
the package looking for /usr/lib/*.so.* files rather than doing a regexp
on the name and trying to special-case out -dev and -doc packages, which
seems rather fragile to me. I imagine there will be many false
positives otherwise.

Bug#557882: ITP: libextutils-manifest-perl -- utilities to write and check a MANIFEST file

2009-11-24 Thread Charles Plessy
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Charles Plessy

  Package name: libextutils-manifest-perl
  Version : 1.57
Upstream Author : Andreas Koenig andreas.koe...@anima.de
  URL : http://search.cpan.org/~rkobes/ExtUtils-Manifest-1.57/
  License : Perl
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : utilities to write and check a MANIFEST file

Dear Perl team and Debian developers,

I intend to package the ExtUtils::Manifest Perl module. It is already packaged
in the perl-modules packages, but in Lenny the provided version is too low to
allow backports of one package of mine that would be fine otherwise. My purpose
is therefore to prepare a libextutils-manifest-perl package similar in design
to libmodule-build-perl, which is also dually present in Debian, and then to
submit a backport to backports.org after the package migrated in Testing.

Please let me know if this would create problems or if more coordination is
required with the perl-modules package.

Here is a tentative description:

There's hope for 0.6 being released before Squeeze freezes, so I guess
that's it about this bug.

Which kernel version are you using? Version 2.6.26-20 in
stable-proposed-updates fixes a crash bug in xen_spin_wait(), though I
don't think that accounts for all of the crashes you're seeing.

Good, did you take a look at the upstream change (I didn't)?
Does it use "exiftran -p -2 -i" and "exiftran -p -9 -i" to losslessly
rotate JPEG images?

If this is the case, could you please pull that patch and apply it to
the Debian package?

I hope we can solve this issue soon.

P.S.: thanks a lot for your quick and useful response! :-)

Here's the contents of my /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules:

# file.

I've tried removing the 8139too/eth0 line from 70-persistent-net.rules
but it keeps regenerating it, yet I never get an eth0 after a reboot,
only a "_rename" interface.

Thank you for the patch!

Updating the debian/rules file to use the dh7 features also fixes this bug.

This will be corrected this in the new version of lshell that should
be released very soon.

Hi Leo,
I'm happy you're evaluating switching to python-support. I'd like to
also ask you to consider joining the PAPT[1], that already hosts some
trac plugin.

2009-11-24 Thread Zack Weinberg
Package: libstdc++6
Severity: normal

It sounds like this bug is the cause of a FTBFS in one of my packages. In
case it's helpful, here is a small self-contained test program that currently
crashes when run on the hppa buildd:

  for (int i = 0; i < 5; i++)
ofs << "0123456789\r\n";

Bug#557880: libc6: nl_langinfo ALT_DIGITS and ERA not posix compliant

2009-11-24 Thread Kevin Ryde
Package: libc6
Version: 2.10.1-3
Severity: normal

With a ja_JP.UTF8 locale defined, the program foo.c below prints

E3 80 87 00 E4 B8 80 00 E4 BA 8C 00

where I expected the 00 null bytes to be semi-colons, separating the
symbols for the alt digits, per POSIX

http://www.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/009695399/basedefs/xbd_chap07.html#tag_07_03_05_02

which says

The value consists of semicolon-separated symbols.

(Semi-colon is also the separator in the locale definition file, but
that's a separate thing. That chapter of the spec has separate sections
for the file format and the subsequent C-language access.)

I believe the same problem is present in nl_langinfo(ERA). The spec is
"Era description segments are separated by semicolons", but the libc
code ends up giving '\0' separators.

#include
#include

2009-11-24 Thread Hamish Moffatt
Package: graphicsmagick
Version: 1.3.5-5.2

Could you please build with --with-quantum-depth=16?

ImageMagick is built this way (actually it's the default). GM is being
built with its default 8.

Package xastir is non-functional when linked to GM built for depth 8.
This is also causing bug#406203 in krita.

Bug#557878: O: mtink

2009-11-24 Thread Sylvain Le Gall
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Mtink is a status monitor for Epson printer. It works well with Epson
Stylus 740 model and help to do some operations otherwise impossible
to do (align head, clean nozzle...).

The package is in a good shape, I just close remaining bugs.

I don't own an Epson printer anymore so I have no more interest in
maintaining the package.

The last upstream release was made in 2007.

Contact me so that I can provide you with a snapshot of my svn
repository, if you want to have full history of the package.

Bug#499711: guile versions

2009-11-24 Thread Peter Clifton
gEDA now requires guile 1.8.x, and as far as I know, all gnetlist
backends have been fixed to work with it. The FAQ entry referring to
bugs against Guile 1.8.X is probably out of date, and a red-herring.

This bug "probably" relates to a back-end which has poor recursion
practice, and ends up using a lot of execution stack to produce the
netlist for a complex design.

You will need to know which specific backend, and which design - was
used in order to confirm / deny whether this bug still exists. (I recall
"some" backends have been improved to use less stack space.)

No it doesn't. I upgraded after I submitted the bug report. The
problem occurred over and
over again this afternoon. In all cases, when the problem happened,
icedove had no problem reading the mail.

Yes, that would probably be good. Although that might break installations where
it is already a symlink?

Note that I am currently working on getting Heimdal 1.3.1 for Debian.

I am fine with both reverting the whole commit, or moving the version
part to a Conflicts:. What do you prefer.

We can mark it as wontfix if we keep the situation like now, or we can
close it if we fix the Conflicts part ;-)

Bug#557818: kwwidgets-doc: Reduce size of doxygen

2009-11-24 Thread Dominique Belhachemi
Hi Mathieu,

this is a very good workaround. I will use this technique to downsize
all the .png files. I hope that doxygen will be able to produce images
with 1 channel and 8 bit pixels in the future, so that this step can be
omitted.

Thanks

Bug#557874: puppet: Puppet from lenny (0.24.5) and from sid (0.25.1) cannot communicate

2009-11-24 Thread Sylvain Le Gall
Package: puppet
Version: 0.25.1-2
Severity: normal

On my sid system, I downgrade puppet to 0.24.5:

~# dpkg -i ~gildor/download/deb/puppet_0.24.5-3_all.deb
dpkg : avertissement : dégradation (« downgrade ») de puppet depuis
0.25.1-2 vers 0.24.5-3.
...

Then run puppet:
~# /usr/sbin/puppetd -w 5 --no-daemonize --onetime --verbose
warning: peer certificate won't be verified in this SSL session
notice: Got signed certificate
info: Retrieving plugins
info: Caching catalog at /var/lib/puppet/state/localconfig.yaml
[...]
notice: Finished catalog run in 5.44 seconds

Everything is ok there.

Then I go back to current sid version:
~# apt-get install puppet
[...]
Paramétrage de puppet (0.25.1-2) ...
[...]

~# /usr/sbin/puppetd -w 5 --no-daemonize --onetime --verbose
info: Retrieving plugin

Could not retrieve information from source(s)
puppet://giga.gallu.homelinux.org/plugins
notice: Using cached catalog
err: Could not retrieve catalog; skipping run

I think the problem comes from a problem an incompatibility between this
two versions. Maybe it is an expected behavior. I think it is worth at
least a mention in NEWS.Debian or README.Debian.

Sylvain Le Gall

Bug#557871: [boinc-client] Isn't able to use suitable Nvidia GPU for calculations

2009-11-24 Thread Mika Rastas
Package: boinc-client
Version: 6.10.17+dfsg-1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

I started working on using the GPU for boinc projects and found out that
it didn't work. After some searching I found out that it is because the
client is getting loaded too early. Client only checks for suitable GPUs
when it starts. Then I tried to restart it and found out that the user
boinc needs to be in group video atleast for nvidia cuda to work.

This thread speaks of the same problem.
http://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=1384&nowrap=true#12852

Now it crunches numbers just nicely as I've changed the startup scripts
links to S32boinc-client ordering them later than the nvidia driver.

I cannot reproduce this, but it is certainly a problem with

Please provide me with an image that, when imported, reproduces the

Bug#557867: minirok feature request

2009-11-24 Thread Greg Miernicki
Package: minirok
Version: 2.1-1

Feature Request:

In the playlist, you currently have columns for:

*Album, Artist, Title, Length, Track*

There are 4 others I think you could add to make it even easier for
"filesystem people" to build playlists:

*Filename* ~ shows the filename.extension of the file *ie:* *
02_nin_wish.flac*
*Folder* ~ shows the name of the folder that contains the file *ie:* *
nin_broken_1992*
*Full Path* ~ shows the entire path *ie:* *
/home/greg/music/albums/rock/nin_broken_1992/02_nin_wish.flac*
*Genre* ~ reads and displays the genre tag from mp3/flac/ogg id3 tags *ie:*
*Rock*

Again, these are all suggestions and your app is so awesome I will continue
to use it regardless of whether or not you decide to include these, but I
think genre and fullpath would be immensely cool to see in playlists :)

Please keep this bug CCed if you submit it.

I didn't test it myself, but maybe Corin can give feedback on this.

Cheers,

The manpage is wrong.
