Hi Russ,

I agree that there is no consensus. For my packages, I have stopped removing
extensions because I do not want to take the risk to break users scripts. I
would
like to appeal to the Technical Committee, but I am about to take holidays, so
it
would be rather at the end of June.

But my experience of “after the holidays” plans is that my mailbox will be full
of other issues that will be equally hungry for my time. How about closing the
bug for the moment? When appealing to the TC, I will take care of unarchiving,
reopening, and reassigning.

Have a nice day,

I am sorry, but that report is bad, it's to debian package centric. Bugs like
this will be handled from upstream often like "distros suck, use our binaries"
And upstream it's no bug in 3.2 anyways as I tried to make clear, we use a
backported
patch to fix some other problems with KDE4. The one causing this is the fix for
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=107945

You should have reiterated the X error, that it breaks with that X error and
nothing more. Maybe only the changelog entry which would have pointed upstream
to the correct issue.

Anyway, just answered there, corrected the info and reassigned to the correct
component.

Grüße/Regards,

Hi Charles,

We had some discussion about this on the Policy list last year, and I
think it was clear from that discussion that there isn't consensus to
revert this change (although there may also not be consensus to make it
again now if we were starting from scratch; I'm not sure).

As discussed in that thread, the best path for a contentious point like
this with good arguments on both sides would be to go through the
Technical Committee, which is designed to be able to make decisions like
that.

I'd like to dispose of this bug one way or another, either by reclosing it
or by appealing it to the Technical Committee. Which direction would you
like to go with it at this point?

But you had a manually built Base/1.18 at some point, and you probably
had a manually built ProjectCenter linked against it. This version was

Yes, adding

It sounds from this follow-up like this modification to the menu policy is
not required, and instead packages should use the categories that already
exist more consistently. Does anyone disagree?

As I reviewd the 3.0[*] results, I noticed that the sources did not have
any of our own manual changes. Therefore the automatic patch generation
was not relevant here. The diff was mostly product of ./configure and
the build process:

Makefile.in => Makefile
etc.

> If you have carefully reviewed the package, verified that all

Yes. The *-1.2 is a cosmetic cleanup to *-1.1 so everything is
included as they were. The *-1.2 in a nutshell:

- Correct changelog
- Get rid of auto generated 3.0 debian/patches

Thanks,
Jari

[*]
The 3.0 is in practise like this:

Compare original sources to the one in debian.

=> If changes, the process writes a quilt(1) compatible
   patch in debian/patches/

The idea is that Debian specific changes, when they are not controlled
by a patching system (dpatch, quilt), are made visible. These changes can
then be made known to upstream; or the upstream can see them from the
Debian package WWW pages.

As revealed in subsequent discussion when this bug was originally filed,
the number of packages using CeCILL licenses is fairly small (under 20 at
the last survey), and there are multiple different forms of the license,
so each license is used only a handful of times.

While we've never set a firm numeric limit for license consideration in
common-licenses, the general feeling is that it should be at least a
couple of hundred, so this seems to be well short.

I'm accordingly marking this Policy bug as rejected. It will remain open
for some time in case anyone has any objections or disagrees with this
analysis.

Hi!

README is upstream README. I would like not to maintain a patch on this
kind of file. A solution would be to ship INSTALL file but since the
content of this file does not apply to Debian, it is a current practice
to not ship it.

I think a Debian user should be aware of the difference between README
and README.Debian and should not try to follow directions on how to
install the software since this should be done by the package system.

I tag this bug "wontfix" since I think that changing the content of
README to remove installation instructions is not something that is
usually done in Debian. Do you agree?

Witold,

it jumps to my mind, that this could be a bug in apt. How is the output if
you use aptitude? Its weird, dpkg shows correctly 0.7.3-6 installed. apt
wants to get rid of 0.7.3-7 which is not even installed at the moment.

Bug#584505: libProjectCenter.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

2010-06-03 Thread Marc J. Driftmeyer
Package: projectcenter.app
Version: 0.5.3~20100601-1
Severity: normal

We have a couple behavior issues:

With projectcenter.app libs referenced under /usr/lib/projectcenter.app/ on Sid
I get the following results with running from command line:

mdriftme...@horus:/usr/lib$ ProjectCenter
mdriftme...@horus:/usr/lib$ ProjectCenter: error while loading shared
libraries: libProjectCenter.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file
or directory

It appears that ProjectCenter is looking for libProjectCenter.so.0 under
/usr/lib/libProjectCenter.so.0

Making symlinks to this resolves this issue, but spawns a secondary issue that
my setup cannot work around.

mdriftme...@horus:/usr/lib$ sudo ln -s projectcenter.app/libProjectCenter.so
libProjectCenter.so
mdriftme...@horus:/usr/lib$ sudo ln -s projectcenter.app/libProjectCenter.so.0

mdriftme...@horus:/usr/lib$ sudo ln -s
projectcenter.app/libProjectCenter.so.0.6.0 libProjectCenter.so.0.6.0

ProjectCenter: error while loading shared libraries: libgnustep-base.so.1.18:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
mdriftme...@horus:/usr/lib$

My setup has not libgnustep-base.so.1.18 shared library so it will fail every
time.

Do I need to purge and reinstall or do we have a problem here?

I'm happy to test the patch if necessary to help push this change
upstream. However, we do need the change to go upstream before we can
include it in the Debian kernel.

Bug#584503: Shouldn't libpoppler recommend poppler-data?

2010-06-03 Thread Charles Plessy
Package: poppler
Severity: wishlist

Dear Poppler maintainers,

poppler-data is essential for reading PDF files that contains Japanese
characters. Currently, PDF viewers suggest poppler-data, but it is
very difficult to figure out that this package needs to be installed
to see Japanese characters. Instead of asking to each PDF viewers to
recommend poppler-data, I wonder if libpoppler would not be a better
package to express this dependancy.

What do you think about it?

Have a nice day,

Bug#389591: status update

2010-06-03 Thread Julien Plissonneau Duquène

Hello,

I have started to work on this.

There is a patch in
http://jira.freeswitch.org/browse/FSBUILD-279
that fixes several small issues.

Among other things, the source format was upgraded to 3.0 (quilt). This
allows more flexibility in patching things specifically for one distro or
another.

Upstream authors are going to keep linking statically to their own copies
of libs and want to remain able to build a .deb package this way, so this
should be taken into account when submitting changes to them. Also they do
not want to hear about bugs that cannot be reproduced with their own static
libs.

As a first step I am currently working on a debian-specific patch to remove
the dependency on the local copy of sqlite. This copy could then be
excluded from the orig tarball. The same approach can probably be used for
most of the other libraries in there.

Next I plan to implement configurable filesystem layouts in main configure
script to avoid things in /opt.

Bug#561517: Situation about this German translation for bugzilla package

2010-06-03 Thread Christian PERRIER
This bug report is puzzling.

The current translation of debconf templates for the "bugzilla" package
is currently complete.

In #561517, Helge sent an "updated" translation, but applying it and
resyncing with the debconf templates would lead to 5t6f2u.

Helge, what should be done?

1) stay with the current translation and close #561571?
2) use the translation in #561516, resync it and ask you to update it?

Bug#584501: t38modem: 1.2.0 is released upstream, and compiles with version of libopal shipped with minor modifications

2010-06-03 Thread Michael van der Kolff
Package: t38modem
Severity: wishlist

The t38modem version shipped is antiquated; 1.2.0 (from t38modem.sf.net)
compiles against libopal3.6.1 with minor modification to Makefile. (That's
Ubuntu Jaunty; it would probably compile just fine against 3.6.6).

For the moment, I would suggest just shipping a build, but there are a couple
of reasonable init scripts that could perhaps be suggested in the
/usr/share/doc.

I'll reply to the bug with my Makefiles, and the minor rename of the cxx -> cpp
so that setting CPPFLAGS worked with the default rules.

Cheers,

Michael

Bug#583758: gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad: linking against libvpx makes package unredistributable

2010-06-03 Thread Sebastian Dröge
severity 583758 important
thanks

Ok, after some further thoughts I'm lowering the severity of this to
important. IMO the patent license is definitely not incompatible with
the GPLv3 and LGPLv3 and the GStreamer license is LGPLv2 or any later
version.

Reason for this is, that everybody seems to agree that the (L)GPLv3 is
compatible with the Apache License 2.0, which has a very similar, but
slightly stricter (because of "each Contributor" instead of only
Google), patent license paragraph:

> 3. Grant of Patent License. Subject to the terms and conditions of
> this License, each Contributor hereby grants to You a perpetual,
> worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable (except
> as stated in this section) patent license to make, have made, use,

I'm keeping the severity at important because GPLv2 incompatibility is
still a problem. There are some GPLv2-only packages out there
unfortunately, but this is not really a new problem.

Indeed, 0004 and 0005 need more review. I'll spend some time with them
maybe this weekend.

Just moved it from Build-Depends-Indep to Build-Depends, hopefully that
will work. Building now...

If i only set a script, which does not exist, if i set a script, which
does nothin (contains only /usr/bin/true) or if i set a script which
sets special routes, starts vpnc and so on, the result is always the same.
If there is an entry in "predisconnect-script" wicd freezes, when
connecting. I can cancle the connection-trial, disconnect from all
networks, remove the entry in the [pre|post]disconnect-fields, wicd
workes fine. Putting in some characters, wicd stops working on connection.

So i think it is noch usefull, to put the commands here, because, there
is no dependcy from the commands.

I think explicitly listing the valid strings should get that across well
enough.

Do we need to be explicit that the day-of-week and month parts need to
specifically be the ‘en’ locale short names for the actual date in
question?

Hi, all.

I am porter and developer of sh4.
If sh4 is added to packages.debian.org, I am very glad.

The patch that Sebastian made seems not to have been taken yet.
How is this problem going?

Best regards,
  Nobuhiro

Bug#581861: RFS: eclipselink (new package, needed to package Spring Framework 3.0)

2010-06-03 Thread Miguel Landaeta
Hi team,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "eclipselink".

* Package name: eclipselink
  Version : 2.0.2-1
Upstream Author : Oracle, Sun Microsystems Inc. and others
* URL : http://www.eclipse.org/eclipselink/
* License : Eclipse Public License, Eclipse Distribution License, BSD,
GPL2, CDDL
  Section : java

It builds these binary packages:
libeclipselink-java - Eclipse Persistence Services Project
libeclipselink-java-doc - Documentation for libeclipselink-java

The package is lintian clean.
The upload would fix these bugs: 581861.

My motivation for maintaining this package is:
This library is needed to package libspring-3.0-java.
Besides, this is very useful in its own since provides
several implementations of diverse persistence standards.

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/e/eclipselink
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main
contrib non-free
- dget
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/e/eclipselink/eclipselink_2.0.2-1.dsc
- Vcs-Git: git://git.debian.org/git/pkg-java/eclipselink.git

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.

Regards,

Bug#561203: threads and fork on machine with VIPT-WB cache

2010-06-03 Thread NIIBE Yutaka

Modestas Vainius wrote:

Note that Debian's buildds run a UP kernel, so as soon as those fixes
go upstream we can pull them in. Thanks for all your work here!

Well, as long as this is unfixed or at least "common", I don't see how hppa
can be considered to be a release arch. Is that UP patch available somewhere?

My case and my analysis talked about UP kernel, and John David Anglin
made a patch:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=561203#144

After that, the discussion went to SMP cases.

It would be better to evaluate the patch again, and make sure it works
for UP case and fix failures of buildd, then apply for Linux in Debian
(only) for HPPA.

I know that the patch is not that ideal because it touches
architecture independent part of Linux, but it is worth for Linux in
Debian (or Linux for the HPPA machine of buildd, at least).

Bug#583910: e2fsprogs: bogus dependency on libblkid1 due to shlibs.local

2010-06-03 Thread beat . naef
there appears to be a package version mis-match.

squeeze/ testing: e2fs(libs, progs) are version 2.17.xx

and mount and util-linux are version 2.16.2-0.

If you grab the e2fs(libs, progs) packages version 2.16.2-0 from stable/
lenny then it may work.

Bug#390442: segfault (double free?) after deleting from hash during adding a new element

2010-06-03 Thread Chris Butler
Since (at least) perl 5.10.0, this situation is now caught and handled
slightly better than segfaulting:

I suspect we can consider this bug fixed in perl 5.10.

Bug#584102: OpenVZ vzctl enter dying with: Unable to open pty: No such file or directory; problem with tcgetattr() and startpar

2010-06-03 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen
[Petter Reinholdtsen]
> Why do OpenVZ not provide a working tty to sysvinit/startpar?

I very much welcome someone with OpenVZ knowledge to answer this one,
to know why startpar fail with OpenVZ.

I had a look at the startpar source, I suspect this code in startpar.c
is the failing one:

  if (tcgetattr(0, &tio))
{
  perror("tcgetattr");
  exit(1);
}

The tio struct is used by startpar to run this code:

  tio.c_oflag &= ~OPOST;
  if (tcsetattr(1, TCSANOW, &tio))
perror("tcsetattr");

Not sure what OPOST does. The manual page states

  OPOST Enable implementation-defined output processing.

Guess someone need to test what happen if the tcgetattr() and
tcsetattr() calls are removed. Can you test if parallel booting work
with the two code snippets disabled?

Happy hacking,

From the limited amount of information you have provided, it seems that
this may be a invalid keyboard file, or a local conflict of applications
grabbing keybindings. Either way, this does not warrant an important
severity.

If you could provide any console output generated and/or the specific
keys and applications you are trying to launch, that would be very
beneficial. Also, what graphical environment are you using? (KDE?)

Subject: [PATCH] Specification of date format -- bug #569174.
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit

RFC 822 dates use only two digits for the years, but Debian changelogs
described by this paragraph (§4.4 in Policy 3.8.4) use four digits.

This patch replaces the reference to the RFC 822 by a specification that is
compatible with its successors, RFC 2822 and RFC 5322, but does not use their
full range of options.

Bug#192864: Fwd: Can we close Debian gtml bug 192864?

2010-06-03 Thread Kenneth Pronovici
Hi Dan,

I guess you're getting two emails from me today. For the sake of the bug
report, I'll repeat myself. :)

GTML has been orphaned for a while. Since I still use it actively, I've
decided to take it over.

Bug 192664 has been open since 11 May 2003, with no other comments in it.
The last activity was when you changed your submitter address in July of
2003.

There hasn't been an upstream release of GTML since October of 2004, so it
seems unlikely that there will be one to address the whitespace problem you
reported . Is it important enough to you to keep the Debian bug open, or
can we close it?

Thanks,

KEN

Just posted one -- issue #112102:

Upstream has a couple of bug reports showing others having similar trouble,
but not quite the same.

   http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=109176

Using 'export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=none' before starting Writer from the above
upstream bug report also works for this case as it overrides the "Plastique"
theme.

Bug#584495: iceweasel: Iceweasel terribly sluggish

2010-06-03 Thread Stefan Monnier
Package: iceweasel
Version: 3.5.9-3
Severity: normal

For a couple months now maybe, I've noticed that Iceweasel is very sluggish.
The slowness seems to be local (i.e. unrelated to the speed of connection) and
manifests itself for example when moving the mouse horizontally across the
menubar, where the redraw of the menus has trouble keeping up with the mouse
movement, or when switching from one tab to another, where there's a clear
delay and I get to see the tab being redrawn about 0.5s-1s before the actual
windo's content.

This is on a 2.4GHz Althon X2 with 4GB of RAM, so it's not due to swapping, nor
to the machine being particularly slow.
The X server is using `nv', so it's not super fast, but it's been quite
sufficient until now and doesn't seem to justify this sluggishness.

It's even worse if I try to display from the same machine on some other
machine's Xserver (a Thinkpad X201s laptop on the same 54Mb/s wifi network):
such remote connection is completely unusable for iceweasel, whereas I've used
such remote display in the past (maybe a year ago) where the slowdown was very
acceptable.

I have tried "iceweasel -no-remote -P" and run with a brand new profile, and
have also tried with "iceweasel -safe-mode", but they still suffer from the
sluggish display.

The odd thing about it is that I use very similar Debian installs on many
machines and don't notice this slowdown on all machines. Also I've noticed it
at times on one machine, and then a week later it seemed to have disappeared.
So I feel like maybe it has something to do with the underlying libraries (poor
performance when some libraries and iceweasel are not upgraded at the same
time, maybe?).

I have not reported it until now specifically because it seemed somewhat
transient, and because I cannot really point to something very specific about
the sluggishness. But since the problem seems to still be around, and since I
recently noticed that the remote display is *really* slow, I felt it was time
(and important) to report it.

Here are several patches:
 * 0001 is the patch mentioned above
 * 0002 and 0003 make build abort when something goes wrong
 * 0004 implements what is described in
/usr/share/doc/autotools-dev/README.Debian.gz as best practice. It is
more complicated than I would like, because of the way upstream uses
autotools. It has not been fully tested.
 * 0005 tries to make removal of generated files simpler, it has been
even less tested.
Thus I suggest you to commit 0001-003. 0004 could also be committed
after review. About 0005, you decide whether building out of source
tree is a good idea.

This will not fix all FTBFS, I also saw problems related to doxygen.
I did not have time to investigate yet, but I believe that docs are
also generated when running the build-arch target; doxygen will not be
installed on autobuilders and build will fail.

OK.

Well, I use the default theme (that KDE is just installed for testing stuff
like this - formerly installed by kde-minimal, otherwise I use GNOME), so yes
;-)

Will file the bug upstream tomorrow or at least on weekend if you don't beat me
to it :)

Bug#583183: Scribus -dPARANOIDSAFER

2010-06-03 Thread paul . szabo
Dear Oleksandr,

> In Scribus we call gs with -dPARANOIDSAFER. Is that sufficient to
> avoid this problem?

Not sufficient, you need -P- also.

I do not expect "upstream" ghostscript.com (artifex.com) to make -P- the
default, I do not know if Debian will.

(There are other bugs with gs, thus it is unsafe with all those options,
but those are being worked on upstream and should make it into Debian,
eventually.)

Cheers, Paul (noting I am no gs expert, nor Debian maintainer)

Bug#584022: page-crunch: Security bugs in ghostscript

2010-06-03 Thread paul . szabo
Dear Sylvain,

> OK, so as far as I understand, we'd better pass '-dSAFER -P-' to

> page-crunch).

My lenny /usr/bin/ps2pdf (really /usr/bin/ps2pdfwr) already includes
-dSAFER. Yes you could (should?) pass -P- to it. I expect that to be
fixed in the Debian ghostscript, sometime, anyway.

Or, you could run ps2pdf in a "safe" directory, chdir to "/" or some
empty directory, as cups and gv do (or will do):
http://bugs.debian.org/584002
http://bugs.debian.org/583316
to also be protected against some as-yet-unpatched (but hopefully
upcoming) gs bugs.

Hope this helps...

Cheers, Paul

Bug#584426: update-grub generates "insmod msdos"

2010-06-03 Thread Ihar `Philips` Filipau
This is rather sever problem because GRUB refuses to boot system - the error
isn't ignored.

The error message "error: file not found" doesn't even contain a faint hint
what the problem is, or at least at what statement the error occurred.

It took me awhile to diagnose it since the usual GRUB commands (e.g. find,
"#" comments are not handled) do not work in the GRUB2 and "help" screen is
apparently dysfunctional in version 1.97.

This is a check in sbuild to avoid hung builds; I guess you're not
really searching for those.

Those build logs don't really reveal anything to me; it doesn't look
like it's a known issue. It does say something about "pkill: not found,"
which could point to a missing build-dep, but as that happens upon
trying to finalize a test from the test suite that has failed, I guess
that's not the actual problem.

If you don't manage to find the issue, I might be able to get you a
build directory. I would hope

Hello cl-asdf / common-lisp-controller maintainers,

vcs-tree is failing to build its Debian package from source. The
relevant lines from the build output are below [1]. My best guess of
the cause of this new problem is that the cl-asdf is trying to write
binary files under /.cache/, but the autobuilder does not permit
creation of that directory. As you are probably aware, ASDF only
recently started to build files under a ~/.cache/ directory tree.

Since building a Lisp binary is rare for Debian packages, I'm not sure
if this represents a fundamental incompatibility of cl-asdf with the
autobuilder. If you are aware of any work-arounds for this issue, I'd
appreciate it. I think the simplest work-around would be to disable
the default translation of storing binary files under ~/.cache/ and
leave the generated binary files in the same directory as source
files. That said, I'm not sure how to accomplish that. Also, it would
be great if the same work-around would also work for the recently
released ASDF 2.0.

Thanks for any insights!

Okay. Hopefully we can track this down so the issue can be reported upstream.

> If so, what happens when you install/deinstall openoffice.org-kde?

After purging openoffice.org-kde, Writer 3.2.0-10 starts fine (just looks
different). I'm using the "Plastique" style, BTW -- some previous OO.org bug
reports seemed to be dependent on style used also.

To test, I switched to the "Oxygen" theme, reinstalled openoffice.org-kde,
after which Writer runs fine. When I switch back to the "Plastique" theme,
Writer quits with an error again.

That isn't surprising, especially if you're using the Oxygen theme. ;-)

| The bug is back in 2.11.1-1. At least /usr/lib/R/lib/libRblas.so

Zut alors! You are absolutely right. For the current 2.11.1 I must have
copied debian/ over from 2.11.0 missed the subsequent 2.11.0-2 and
2.11.1~2010525.

Luckily this was the only fix, so I am currently reconstituting the changes
which should be simple enough.

Thanks _a lot_ for catching this!

Yes, as I could tell from looking at the changelog. I had inadvertently
skipped two releases, including the one with the fix for #581237.

New 2.11.1-2 packages, once again with the fix, should be coming shortly.

After further investigation, there isn't a way to specify extra headers
with standard mail/mailx. In light of that, it looks like the most
robust option is to require either of $DEBEMAIL or $EMAIL to be set in
the environment and drop support for using mail/mailx to send emails.

OK, do you happen to use KDE4? Otherwise there's no change between -9 and -10
which would explain this.
(And as this was a backported patch this means this actually is a upstream bug
upstream will have too in 3.3..)

If so, what happens when you install/deinstall openoffice.org-kde?

A full build log can be found at:
http://buildd.debian.org/build.php?arch=alpha&pkg=yoshimi&ver=0.056-1

Note that alot of those options you're trying to are not supported
on all arches.

Using something like -march=native also does not make sense to
build packages for a binary distribution. It means that it will
not run on older CPUs than the one it was build on, and that
clearly is not something we want.

Using something like -msse is very likely also a problem for the
same reason.

Bug#584491: gnome-session opens ICE socket named using PID; doesn't cope with socket existing

2010-06-03 Thread Josh Triplett
Package: gnome-session
Version: 2.30.0-1
Severity: important

gnome-session opens its ICE listening socket in /tmp/.ICE-unix/ and
names the socket using its PID. If the path it wants to create already
exists (for instance, from a previous run of gnome-session), it fails,
with a message saying "Could not create ICE listening socket: Cannot
establish any listening sockets", and then many parts of the session
subtly (or less than subtly) break.

A few things compound this problem:

- PID collisions become rather more likely due to the relatively
consistent number of processes run as part of the boot process.

- I turn off cleaning of /tmp on boot. (Started doing so a long time
ago after one too many times losing useful files I happened to stash
  in /tmp.)

- A guess: gdm3 actually runs gnome-session, and does so as a different
user than the gnome-session run later as part of a user session, so
even if gnome-session handles removing an existing socket, it won't
  have permission to do so.

gnome-session should name its sockets in a way far less predictable and
less likely to collide, and it should probably retry if it has a
collision, at least a few times.

gnome-session should also clean up its socket when it exits (whether
normally or via SIGTERM).

Also, as far as I can tell nothing relies on the ICE socket living in
/tmp/.ICE-unix, so perhaps it could move to /var/run, which *should*
always get cleaned on boot (or just mounted as a tmpfs).

can you double check if you have the cool'n'quiet feature enabled in the
BIOS configuration?
otherwise also trying `modprobe acpi_cpufreq` could be an option
although I doubt it will work.

The problem is suhosin will have wasted lots of time of users before

Just tested: when I revert to OpenOffice 3.2.0-9+b1 (in sid) Writer works
again.

When I upgrade to OpenOffice 3.2.0-10 Writer does not.

So whatever the interaction between OO Writer and X is, it is version

Which jgrapht version did it use to build? The build-log by Lucas says
0.8 and AFAIK CDK doesn't build with this version. The fix is probably
as easy as using

libjgrapht0.6-java | libjgrapht-java

in debian/control.

These are just the default settings, set by the author of suhosin (like
documented directly in /etc/php5/conf.d/suhosin.ini). We are not planing to
touch them.

Why don't you forward the request upstream?
