Bug#729787: Does not remove everything on purge
Thomas Preud'homme robo...@debian.org writes: Le dimanche 17 novembre 2013 21:36:34, vous avez écrit : One last consideration would be if /var/spool/dspam could be on a network filesystem. I don't know enough about the hash driver to be sure if that's possible, but my guess is that most people would use either the pgsql or mysql drivers if they want to share the data between different dspam instances. I am not sure to follow you. Do you suggest not to remove this directory if it is on NFS? That was just another thing that came to my mind after I had written the rest of my reasoning. The idea is that iff /var/spool/dspam is shared between several instances of dspam (ie. in a cluster setup), then it should not be removed by just purging one of these instances. But I'm not sure if it's even technically possibly to share /var/spool/dspam and doubt that it's a common real life scenario. If you think that this is a scenario the package should care about, a debconf question similar to mysql is probably the easiest way to implement a safeguard. Gaudenz -- Ever tried. Ever failed. Bug#729820: Corrected upstream
Hi, i'm aware of problems with FreetuxTV. I just miss time to solve them quickly because of personal/professional project. But i will try to release a new version with all remaining bug fix before the end of the year. Bug#729805: systemd: fails to show startup messages with systemd.show_status=1
reopen 729805 thanks Hi Michael, On Sun, Nov 17, 2013 at 8:43 PM, Michael Biebl bi...@debian.org wrote: Am 17.11.2013 16:34, schrieb Rik Theys: To show the systemd startup messages (OK Starting/started/...), I added systemd.show_status=1 to /etc/default/grub and updated the grub config. No messages (except for the systemd-fsck messages) are shown during startup. After startup, /proc/cmdline shows that systemd.show_status=1 was set, together with quiet. The systemd.show_status=1 should be necessary when quiet is also specified but does not seem to have any effect. quiet implies systemd.show_status=0 (read the systemd man page) and you passed systemd.show_status=1, so those two options conflict. On my fedora system here the man page says that adding quiet merely changes the default value of systemd.show_status. If it is explicitly set, the value should be honoured. systemd.show_status= Takes a boolean argument. If true shows terse service status updates on the console during bootup. Defaults to true, unless quiet is passed as kernel command line option in which case it defaults to false. Adding quiet _and_ systemd.show_status=1 works as expected on my Fedora 19, but not on Debian. On Fedora it shows the sytemd messages but not the kernel messages (due to the quiet). On Debian it shows nothing (except for the systemd-fsck ones). Regards, Rik

Bug#729839: network-manager: forgets previously connected network upon sleep/reboot
Package: network-manager Version: 0.9.8.0-5 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, I have multiple configurations for both wireless and wired interfaces: since upgrading to jessie, every time my pc reboots or wakes up from sleep it has forgotten which one of them was the last connected network, and tries to connect a random (usually incorrect) one. The user has then to select the proper connection manually. Otherwise the computer would usually remain disconnected from the net. This is a regression compared to the wheezy version 0.9.4.1-5. I think this is unrelated to #632850 (now the ethernet adapter is recognized correctly, just a wrong configuration is applied to it) #692004 (different/opposite behavior) The maintainer may wish to raise the severity, as in certain cases this may lead to data loss, e.g. on a computer whose display/graphic card fails. With the previous correct behavior, user could have her computer connect automatically to the last used wireless or wired network and access her data through the net. The current behavior would instead leave the machine disconnected and data unretriavable (without physically removing pieces of hardware such as the HD). Thank you in advance for fixing! Bug#729846: gnome-session: No background/wallpaper after upgrade
Package: gnome-session Version: 3.8.4-3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, I upgraded to gnome 3.8 today. I went to an xfce-session for the upgrade. After the upgrade, stopped gdm and started the gdm service so logind asks my login credentials. Shared my credentials and logged in to GNOME-flashback. After logging in, see no wallpaper/background in GNOME-flashback. I changed the wallpaper/background assuming maybe it lost my previous one. Still after choosing a new wallpaper and selecting it as default, no change. The wallpaper is a grey color thing. I also used gnome-tweak-tool to see if that helps and gave the URI of the background but still no change. Bug#729848: kscreensaver: Unlock-session window keeps a typed but forgotten password forever
Package: kscreensaver Version: 4:4.10.5-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, It seeems to me that the unlock-session window keeps a typed but forgotten (i.e. not entered with ENTER) password forever, if I'm right this is a security breach cheers Steps to Reproduce: 1. lock a KDE session (or wait enough idle time if automatic lock is on). (I have also a screen saver enabled, but this should be irrelevant) 2. write the user-password in the unlock form, but DO NOT click ENTER (e.g. because something distracted you); 3. wait some time (e.g. exit the room to take a coffee) 3. come back to the unlock and the password is still typed in the form (you see the black dots), an ENTER is enough to enter the session. (Security breach: somebody evil arrives and just clicking ENTER enters your account ...) Expected Results: The password form of the unlock-session window must be cleared after, say, 1 minute from when the last character is entered. Looking at the dpkg output, it appears to me that libsane:amd64 was upgraded but libsane:i386 wasn't. That's complicated to tell, and I can't confirm or refute it. I had got xine to run with wheezy, then installed avidemux from multimedia, which broke my xine, I deinstalled avidemux, xine still broken, I found out that the graphics card of my 2 month old computer wasn't yet supported by the i915 driver, and I upgraded to jessie. During the upgrade lots of things were installed, and some conflicted, and so on. Afterwards I still had to remove some X packages and reinstall them to get xine working again. And in the process, I probably also decided that I don't need libsane any more (I've got a new printer with a scanner that generates PDF). I removed it, and that broke the cups printer driver. Which I needed today to print something. A real-life story ... ;-) Can you reproduce the dpkg error message if you upgrade from wheezy and upgrade both packages, libsane:i386 and libsane:amd64? Bug#729813: jessie/testing pam_unix2 (2.6-1) module is compiled without blowfish support
hi there, i think this happens because of: checking for xcrypt_gensalt_r... no checking the source reads: #if defined(HAVE_XCRYPT_GENSALT_R) [ do stuff ] #else __write_message (pamh, flags, PAM_ERROR_MSG, _(No support for blowfish included)); I guess md5 is broken aswell, see this bugreport against the ubuntu package: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libpam-unix2/+bug/372406 looking at the web it seems like the original source of the package at suse is not available anymore, it may also be unmaintained. I wasnt able to find any recent repositories. On 18.11.2013 14:36, Claus Fischer wrote: [...] Unfortunately I don't know that, and I can't downgrade this computer again. Ok. I believe you didn't upgrade both packages. The file /etc/sane.d/gt68xx.conf slightly differs in older version of libsane. Since you had installed the i386 and amd64 version of libsane in parallel, dpkg detected the change on upgrade and aborted the process. Normally both packages must share the exact same config file. So it appears you only performed a partial upgrade, hence the error message. It would be a valid bug, if the upgrade failed even when you upgraded libsane:i386 and libsane:amd64 but I can't see that at the moment. You can always reinstall the packages, that should ultimately fix the error. Regards, Markus signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

FWIK jpeg-turbo is abi/api compatible, so I tried to link turbojpeg library instead of jpeg on spice packages building (changing -ljpeg with -lturbojpeg on configure.ac and did also autoconf) but build fails: libtool: link: gcc -std=gnu99 -g -O2 -fstack-protector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -Wformat -Werror=format-security -Wl,-z -Wl,relro -o .libs/test_display_no_ssl basic_event_loop.o test_display_base.o test_display_no_ssl.o -pthread ../../spice-common/common/.libs/libspice-common.a ../../server/.libs/libspice-server.so -lm -lrt -pthread ../../server/.libs/libspice-server.so: undefined reference to `jpeg_write_scanlines' ../../server/.libs/libspice-server.so: undefined reference to `jpeg_abort_compress' ../../server/.libs/libspice-server.so: undefined reference to `jpeg_set_defaults' ../../server/.libs/libspice-server.so: undefined reference to `jpeg_set_quality' ../../server/.libs/libspice-server.so: undefined reference to `jpeg_start_compress' ../../server/.libs/libspice-server.so: undefined reference to `jpeg_destroy_compress' ../../server/.libs/libspice-server.so: undefined reference to `jpeg_CreateCompress' ../../server/.libs/libspice-server.so: undefined reference to `jpeg_std_error' ../../server/.libs/libspice-server.so: undefined reference to `jpeg_finish_compress' collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status Any ideas? Bug#729493: smuxi: Connection hangs after finding hostname

Humm.. so today smuxi manages to connect. When it doesn't, it doesn't at least on oftc and freenode. I do note that between this report and the previous, I did some upgrades, in particular the kernel to 3.11-2. I will reboot and check if this causes the bug to reappear. Was it always like this or has it worked before? I've used smuxi for a while now, but it broke a few weeks ago (I'm not a very heavy user of irc). I thought it possibly was user error, so on this new laptop I got a couple of weeks ago I installed it and reproduced the problem. That's when I submitted this bug report. FWIW, the previous laptop was also a debian unstable amd64. Just a wild guess, please run the following command and show me the output of it: grep SigBlk /proc/self/status The output should look like this: meebey@redhorse:~$ grep SigBlk /proc/self/status SigBlk: Same same: felipe@felipepc:~% grep SigBlk /proc/self/status SigBlk: 11:42 -!- Connecting to irc.oftc.net port 6667... 11:42 -!- Connection to irc.oftc.net established 11:42 -!- Logging in... 11:42 !magnet.oftc.net *** Looking up your hostname... 11:42 !magnet.oftc.net *** Checking Ident 11:42 !magnet.oftc.net *** Found your hostname The connection seems to timeout for some reason... After reading the debug log it looks like the signalling of the AutoResetEvent between the socket queue and queue reader is not working. So this really looks like it is related to the signal block mask mentioned above. So if you run the proprietary nvidia driver please tell me the version, as I have seen reports related to it (see #728743 and #499569). I use the intel driver. % apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-video-intel xserver-xorg-video-intel: Installed: 2:2.21.15-1+b2 Candidate: 2:2.21.15-1+b2 Version table: *** 2:2.21.15-1+b2 0 500 http://http.debian.net/debian/ sid/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status -- Saludos, Felipe Sateler -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
