2014-11-10 Thread Ritesh Raj Sarraf
Package: initscripts
Version: 2.88dsf-57
Followup-For: Bug #601757

Is there any reason why the initscript maintainers haven't fixed this
bug ? Let alone fix, there's no comment on what their view is.

And this bug is more than 3 yrs old..

Given that the package is already comaintained with the pkg-ruby-extras

from the team will take over if there's interest.

Please approve rsskit/0.3-3 to fix FTBFS bug #768749 via t-p-u. The
bug is fixed in the version in unstable (0.4-1) but as this is a new
upstream release with a SONAME bump it is not applicable for jessie.

(My initial plan was to upload this new release way before the
transition freeze but I was waiting for upstream comments for the
relevant gnustep-make RC bug and was MIA for a few months so it didn't
work out as intended).

Proposed debdiff attached.

Please unblock package thunar

Hi,

Thunar in Jessie is affected by a regression due to Glib 2.42. This was
tracked as bug #763726 (opened as severity normal) and the problem was
that default application selection was broken (so double clicking on a
file in Thunar doesn't open the user-chosen application).

A patch went in the 1.6.3-2 package version, along with some
documentation/descriptions fixes.

The changelog entries are as follow and the debdiff is attached

thunar (1.6.3-2) unstable; urgency=medium

- fix typo in thunar-dbg long description
  * debian/patches:

Bug#768772: ITP: xkcdpass -- secure passphrase generator inspired by XKCD 936

2014-11-10 Thread Vincent Bernat
 ❦ 10 novembre 2014 12:36 +1100, Ben Finney ben+deb...@benfinney.id.au :

The attribution is misleading. While xkcd has popularized this way of
getting password, it was previously known as diceware:
  http://world.std.com/~reinhold/diceware.html

It would be nice to mention that.

That sounds like something to report upstream, perhaps for inclusion
in the documentation. I don't think it belongs in the Debian
 packaging; do you?

It could be fit in the long description.

Also, the provided list of words is quite large and may use long
words and derivative which may make the password more complicate to
memorize. For example, there are both acknowledgment and
acknowledgement. The original list of words from diceware is 7776
words long which provides a 90bit security for a 7-word passphrase.

Okay. Again, that seems like an issue to report for upstream
consideration, and doesn't affect the Debian packaging of this work.

Yes.

yeah, maybe, maybe you as the gosa maintainer knows more? ;-)

Also, there was an upload of php5 to wheezy-security on Oct 18th,
  maybe that one is related.

Seems to be that the update from php version 5.4.4 to 5.4.34 (new

If /usr/share/gosa/include/functions.inc (with the fix for jessie) is
used in wheezy the problem is gone...

gobby-infinote has taken over the gobby package just in time for the
jessie
freeze. I do not want gobby-0.4 to stay around for jessie, it won't
receive
any more updates upstream. net6 and obby are support packages only
around

for gobby-0.4 and can (and should) hence go as well.

What about sobby? That has both build- and runtime dependencies on both
libobby and libnet6.

Bug#768886: unblock: beignet/0.9.3~dfsg-1

2014-11-10 Thread Rebecca N. Palmer

Please unblock package beignet
That's already been requested and declined in #767961: we are already
too late for 0.9.3 in jessie, we need to decide whether 0.8 in jessie +
1.0 (expected soon) in jessie-backports is better or worse than just 1.0
in jessie-backports.

Backporting the relevant changes is unfeasible,
While that's probably true if you mean 'make 0.8 work with llvm 3.5',
llvm 3.4 isn't being removed from jessie, it just isn't the default any
more. I strongly suspect that #768691 is the same bug as #767387, which
can be fixed by explicitly requesting 3.4:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=767387#34

(Please don't upload that, it doesn't fix #768090 yet.)

Bug#768927: opensc: OpenCT missing. Was removed in 760258

2014-11-10 Thread Cornelius Koelbel
Source: opensc
Version: 0.13
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

OpenSC is the driver/middleware for talking to smartcards.
It depends on OpenCT, which is the driver for the Card Terminals.
OpenCT is also maintained by the opensc project, which is now hosted
 at github.
With bug #760258 openct was removed, so that opensc can not be used
anymore, since tools like the opensc-explorer do not find any card
 terminal anymore.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

Tried to run Aladdin eToken Pro 64K. It could not be found, due to
the missing openct package. The card terminal could not be found.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

the card terminal software was not available. No card terminal / card
reader could be found, aladdin etoken could not be found and not be used.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

OpenSC needs to be available. OpenSC should contain a dependency on
OpenCT. OpenCT should be installable and the etoken should be accessed.

*sigh* Thanks for catching this: it wasn't mentioned because I

At one time I had accidentily included a debian/mumble-server.init

Other than that, do you have a suggestion as to how I should proceed

If it can happen really soon, I'd be happy with an upload that matches
 what you intended.

Okay, a new mumble 1.2.8-2 has been uploaded into Unstable, and I believe
it matches what we would all want.

I was asked to revert the Standards-Version back to 3.9.5 so this upload
is just slightly different from the last debdiff I sent; as such I've
attaching a new debdiff and an interdiff against the first debdiff
(mumble_1.2.8~7_to_1.2.8-1.diff) that I had started the bug with. The
interdiff is just slightly larger than expected because the time zone
changed back an hour (-0400 to -0500) since the last upload.

Thanks much.

PyNag is writing incorrect time stamps in the check result files for Nagios

This means Nagios silently ignores the check results submitted by

Bug#768929: libwebkit2gtk-3.0-25: plugin process vulnerable to stack buffer overflow

2014-11-10 Thread Alberto Garcia
Package: libwebkit2gtk-3.0-25
Version: 2.4.7-1
Severity: normal
Tags: patch upstream

Like the 2.6 series of webkitgtk, this release is also vulnerable to
the same stack buffer overflow problem (#768341).

In short, we have this code to obtain the value of
NPPVpluginNeedsXEmbed from a plugin:

   uint64_t windowID = 0;
   bool needsXEmbed = false;
   NPP_GetValue(NPPVpluginNeedsXEmbed, needsXEmbed);

The value of NPPVpluginNeedsXEmbed is boolean (1 byte), however some
plugins are using an int instead. This has been confirmed with the
Flash plugin at least.

Making needsXEmbed an int fixes the problem.

This is not reproducible in all situations because depending on
how the code is compiled it might just be overwriting the windowID
variable again with zeroes.

The patch has been applied upstream and will be available in the next
release from the 2.4 branch.

Bug#559767: severity of 559767 is important

2014-11-10 Thread Emmanuel Bourg
Despite the similar error message the build fail for another reason on
amd64. The libj3dcore-ogl.so: No such file or directory message occurs
whenever a compilation error occurs in the native part of java3d. The
actual error is higher in the log just before the javadoc generation:

/usr/include/GL/glxext.h:480:164: error: unknown type name 'GLintptr'

This is caused by a recent change in mesa, see #765933. I don't know if
java3d has to be updated or if a fix has to be applied in mesa only.

The original error on armel was about undefined references to
`__aeabi_*'. Since this is not the same issue I'm going to lower the
severity to 'important' and open a new bug if a change is needed on the
java3d side.

Bug#768168: watchdog does not start at boot

 Dear Maintainer,

since the last upgrade watchdog does not get started at boot time:

Nov 05 16:42:52 grappa systemd[1]: Breaking ordering cycle by deleting job

 Nov 05 16:42:52 grappa systemd[1]: Job watchdog.service/start deleted to
break ordering cycle starting with graphical.target/start

Could you tell me which other services you have included in graphical.target?
On my system the current setup works flawlessly. Could very well be that I made
a mistake when setting the After: fields.

@systemd maintainers: The reason for the current setting is that watchdog is
supposed to start as late as possible to be able to check other services. Any
hint how to find out how to accomblish that would be greatly appreciated.

2014-11-10 Thread Martin Pitt
Russ Allbery [2014-11-06 22:13 -0800]:
The concern with the service unit is that it's only a service unit with no
corresponding init script. If the behavior is a good idea, we should do
it regardless of the init system, I would think

I agree. In Ubuntu we've carried this for a while now:

| $ cat /etc/cron.weekly/fstrim
| #!/bin/sh
| # trim all mounted file systems which support it
| /sbin/fstrim --all || true

This is init system agnostic, and with anacron it also works nicely on
desktops.

Of course, if in your view as a maintainer this functionality isn't ready
for jessie or you don't want to support it, just backing out of the change
 also works.

It also took us quite some time in Ubuntu to enable it by default, and
we did extensive measurements to see which approach is best. But not
trimming SSDs is really quite bad these days, so from my POV it would
be quite prudent to include either the timer or the cron job in
jessie.

Thanks,

Martin

It could be fit in the long description.

That's orthogonal to whether it *should* be in the long description.

By my reading of Policy §3.4.2, I don't see why such a reference to a
third-party document would be important enough to clutter the long
description of this package. It should, IMO, go into the package's
documentation, if at all.

If you're saying the package documentation should have that reference,
I can agree, but the Debian packaging doesn't need to mention it IMO.

Hi Miriam,

Attached is a little patch that adds a, well, a little patch :) to the
phlipple source package to make it link with libm. I think that the
reason this shows up now is that the libraries that phlipple depends on,
e.g. libvorbis, libvorbisfile, etc, have changed since May to not
explicitly list their own dependencies in the pkg-config output. In the
May rebuild, phlipple picked up -lm from its dependent libraries'
dependencies, and it compiled just fine; now it doesn't, and it must
figure out that -lm should be added all by itself.

As noted in the patch, I know that this is not a proper fix, but I
believe that it should be a simple minimal targeted fix for the Jessie
freeze.

So what do you think about the attached patch? I have taken the liberty
of adding a changelog entry and adding myself to the Uploaders, so that
the build is happy, but of course it's perfectly fine if you take just
the patch and commit it yourself. Still, if you agree, I could commit
it to the pkg-games Subversion repo myself, then prepare a package and
put it up in the sponsoring queue.

Thanks for all your work in pkg-games and Debian in general, and also
thanks to Lucas for his tireless, endless rebuilds! :)

G'luck,
Peter

A much better fix would be a configure script check for cos(3) in libm,
but I think that this should be suitable for the Jessie freeze.

Bug#757056: GNOME Do directs users to porn/gambling/get rich quick pages

2014-11-10 Thread Sam Morris
severity 738195 serious
forcemerge 738195 757056

thanks

The old home page has been taken over by adverts for porn/gambling, etc.
Since the 'About' button in the Plug-ins tab of the preferences window
sends the user there, I don't think the package should be part of the
release in its current state.

Bug#768932: unblock: drupal7-mod-fontawesome

2014-11-10 Thread Daniel Pocock
Package: release.debian.org

The normal fonts-font-awesome package installs a range of files

The original drupal7-mod-fontawesome only symlinked the css files into
drupal7, the latest upload in unstable symlinks the remaining css files
into drupal7 so they can also be used by other dependencies

Bug#768905: FTBFS: fails test CHECK INVALID KEY TYPE

2014-11-10 Thread Christian Kastner
Hi Adam,

On 2014-11-10 01:47, Adam Borowski wrote:
 Package: src:keyutils
 Version: 1.5.9-5
 Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)

 Hi!
I'm afraid that during a rebuild of jessie on armhf (using sbuild) your
 package failed to build:

Generally speaking, so far, errors discovered in the test suite have
always been problems with the kernel (either the version, or the arch).
keyutils just returns whatever the syscall returns.

I'm a bit confused: the attached log for armhf does not match the output
below, so I assume the output below is for amd64?

 [...]

I also tried on amd64, it fails as well.

A rebuild with sbuild on my host with a 3.16 kernel and a jessie chroot
succeeded without issue. Could you post the output of
tests/keyctl/add/badd-args/test.out, and the kernel version on which
this was built?

Regarding the attached armhf log: the error is similar to #757530 (it's
another test, though). In that case, the syscall failed as expected, but
it just returned the wrong error code. As this was a non-yet-official
arm64 + custom kernel build, and it went away with a newer kernel on the
official buildds, I assumed it had something to do with that custom
kernel.

Here, too, the output of the test.out file would be very helpful.

Bug#766849: gnome-shell responds and renders hazardously

2014-11-10 Thread dAgeCKo

That's very unfortunate, because I believe this to be a nvidia driver

Since it worked before with the same driver version, and since I had
many bugs with gnome, some of which were resolved, I am pretty sure it
is not a driver problem.

But since you resolve bugs from beliefs...
Anyway this was my last chance to support gnome. I'll move back to
others which are anyway faster, lighter and safer and more stable.

Bug#768933: unblock: jscommunicator

2014-11-10 Thread Daniel Pocock
Package: release.debian.org

Bugs:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=768363
   - this corrects the version in the constraint to depend on
fonts-font-awesome 4.1.0~dfsg
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=768632
   - this ensures compatibility with older versions of jQuery found in
Debian / drupal7 package

This is a new upstream release (from 1.1.1 to 2.0.1). WebRTC is a fast
moving technology and it is in the best interests of users to offer the
latest version of the package. Browser vendors assure

This package has not been updated in unstable for a few months because
related dependencies were in the FTP new queue
(drupal7-mod-jqueryi18nproperties and drupal7-mod-fontawesome) until
just before the freeze and so I have only been able to test all these
packages together as a set over the last few days. If I had uploaded
earlier it would have broken the drucall package.

There will also be an unblock request for drupal7-mod-drucall which is
based on jscommunicator

2014-11-10 Thread Alexandre Gramfort
hi Andreas,

can you please have a look into this? Please not that the freeze rules
do not allow fixing this in a new upstream version but we rather need to
find a minimal patch. If you do not have a better idea skipping the
affected tests to solve this issue.

we should skip the tests. How do I push a patch without making a new
release?

test_legendre_val
test_legendre_table
test_make_field_map_meg

need to be skipped.

Alex

 Kind regards

  Andreas.

Bug#768935: unblock: drupal7-mod-drucall

2014-11-10 Thread Daniel Pocock
Package: release.debian.org

drupal7-mod-drucall is closely related to the jscommunicator package

This version updates the package with the latest content, including
language files, from jscommunicator. The jscommunicator unblock request
links to various bugs:

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=768363
   - this corrects the version in the constraint to depend on
fonts-font-awesome 4.1.0~dfsg
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=768632
   - this ensures compatibility with older versions of jQuery found in Debian /
drupal7 package

This is a new upstream release from 2.0.0 to 2.2. WebRTC is a fast
moving technology and it is in the best interests of users to offer the
latest version of the package. Browser vendors assure people that the
technology is still under development and users should not be too
surprised at this change in version.

This package has not been updated in unstable for a few months because
new dependencies were in the FTP new queue
(drupal7-mod-jqueryi18nproperties and drupal7-mod-fontawesome) until
just before the freeze and so I have only been able to test all these
packages together with the latest jscommunicator as a set over the last
few days.

Bug#766359: gnome-shell: gdm shows a black screen when upgrading to 3.14.1-1

2014-11-10 Thread Deni Bertovic
Sorry for the confusion but I'm not certain my previous reply has
anything to do with this issue anymore.

The issue I had was with the package 'gnome-do' for some reason. After
removing it gnome-shell starts just fine. No idea what the issue is though.

So the issue is that src/peigs/commm overwrites the FFLAGS in its
Makefile and/or the peigs submodule sets up its own flags, so this file
is not being compiled with debugging information.

In any case, I could reproduce this on an amd64 porterbox

debugging information and poke at what the issue is. Will not get to it
immediately, though...

Bug#768937: zsh: [patch] not binNMU-safe due to --link-doc between arch-dep and arch-indep

2014-11-10 Thread Simon McVittie
Package: zsh
Version: 5.0.7-3.1+b1
Severity: serious
Tags: patch
Justification: uninstallable

As noted on #747141, it is not safe for dh_installdocs --link-doc to
link together the documentation directories of an architecture-dependent
package and an architecture-independent package, because the resulting
lockstep dependency is unsatisfiable after the architecture-dependent
package receives a binNMU.

Here's a patch to fix that, using the approach that Axel Beckert
described on that bug:

  - change the affected packages in question to not use --link-doc.
That's likely the way I'd go with zsh then, with the addition of some
 additional symlinks from /usr/share/doc/zsh/something to
/usr/share/doc/zsh-common/something for most files not being
 changelogs. *sigh*

I changed zsh-dbg from docs linked to zsh-common to docs linked to zsh,
and installed the bare minimum of Policy-required docs in zsh.
zsh-dev is now self-contained (I don't think it's worth optimizing
its size).

I put the dpkg-maintscript glue to migrate /usr/share/doc/zsh from a
directory to a symlink in both zsh and zsh-common, because both packages
ship files in that directory now, and either package might be unpacked first.

Regards,
S

 Hi Miriam,

Just as in #768741, what do you think about the attached small patch
that does the configure script's job by manually adding -lvorbis to
the zaz linker flags? Of course, the proper fix should be done upstream
in the configure script, but IMHO this minimal targeted fix should be
 sufficient for the Jessie freeze.

Once again, feel free to remove the changelog and control snippets and
commit it yourself, since zaz is your package. Of course, if you agree,
I could commit it to the pkg-games Subversion repo and put a package up
 in the sponsoring queue.

Again, Miriam, Lucas, thanks for all your work!

And wouldn't it have helped immensely if I'd also attached the patch...

G'luck,
Peter

Bug#768936: ITP: nufft -- Library implementing the Non-Uniform Fast Fourier Transform

2014-11-10 Thread Ghislain Antony Vaillant
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Ghislain Antony Vaillant ghisv...@gmail.com

* Package name: nufft
  Version : 1.3.3

  Programming Lang: FORTRAN
Description : Library implementing the Non-Uniform Fast Fourier Transform

Implementation of the Non-Uniform Fast Fourier Transform (NUFFT) coded in
FORTRAN using a fast, procedural, algorithm.

Compared to existingly packaged solutions, like the NFFT library, the NUFFT
provides Octave (and MATLAB) compatible bindings. Because of the procedural
implementation, usage of the NUFFT is more straightforward. However, it lacks
support for high dimensionality than 3 and support for precomputation in case
a transform needs to be repeated. As a result both the NFFT and NUFFT package
may coexist as they fit different needs.

I believe this package would be a good fit for the mathematics-dev blend of
the Debian-science project, and should be maintained by the Debian science
team.

Dear Maintainer,

the sacctmgr binary only installed in the slurmdbd packages respectively.
Please consider installing it with the slurm-client package.

It is not only an administration tool but allows to query all sorts of
information like available accounts, qos, etc, that is available from the
slurmdbd. It is also needed for bash-completion of the various slurm commands
(slurm_completion.sh in https://github.com/damienfrancois/slurm-helper included

This Bug also affects wheezy.

Bug#768772: ITP: xkcdpass -- secure passphrase generator inspired by XKCD 936

2014-11-10 Thread Jonas Smedegaard
[adding bugreport as recipient]

Quoting Ben Finney (2014-11-10 00:33:52)
 Simon McVittie s...@debian.org writes:

Does [xkcdpass] have significant advantages over pwqgen, in the
  passwdqc package?

 Significant advantages:

 * ‘xkcdpass’ provides an implementation of a much-discussed scheme for
strong passphrase generation. (Which is not to say the results are
stronger than all others; only that these are relatively strong.)

I don't know of any other tool implementing the scheme discussed in
   XKCD 936.

You probably mean other tools in Debian, but if you more generally mean
other FLOSS tools, there is (an inferior [Crypt::PW44] and)
[Crypt::XkcdPassword] which I have considered packging.

...or at least I suspect it might be superior, so let me rephrase as
curious questions for your xkcdpass tool:

  * Does it handle alternate dictionaries (e.g. danish)?
  * Does it handle massaging dictionary (e.g. strip profanities)?

Crypt::XkcdPassword by default uses the most commonly used words in
film scripts and television shows, and documents examples of
adaptations at https://metacpan.org/pod/Crypt::XkcdPassword::Examples.
That's meant not only as friendly competition but also as inspiration
for your tool in case you find those adaption features relevant.

Thanks for packaging this,

 - Jonas

Hi,

The About button for plug-ins listed in preferences is still sending
users to the wrong place--fixing the URL in the About window didn't fix
the plug-in URLs.

Bug#768937: [Pkg-zsh-devel] Bug#768937: zsh: [patch] not binNMU-safe due to --link-doc between arch-dep and arch-indep

Hi Simon,

Simon McVittie wrote:
As noted on #747141, it is not safe for dh_installdocs --link-doc to
link together the documentation directories of an architecture-dependent
package and an architecture-independent package, because the resulting
lockstep dependency is unsatisfiable after the architecture-dependent
 package receives a binNMU.

Yep.

Here's a patch to fix that, using the approach that Axel Beckert
 described on that bug:

Thanks for the patch. Much appreciated!

I changed zsh-dbg from docs linked to zsh-common to docs linked
 to zsh,

Good idea!

and installed the bare minimum of Policy-required docs in zsh.
 zsh-dev is now self-contained (I don't think it's worth optimizing
 its size).

Well, it is no more since multi-arch, yes.

Bug#768685: libtheora: FTBFS in jessie: ld: player_example-player_example.o: undefined reference to symbol 'rintf@@GLIBC_2.2.5'

On Sun, 09 Nov 2014 at 09:08:40 +0100, Petter Reinholdtsen wrote:
My best guess is that some -lm entry is missing, as rint() is in libm

Yes. Patch attached (build-tested only). I was able to reproduce the
reported FTBFS in my sid sbuild chroot, and the same chroot can build
my patched version successfully.

but I find it strange as this code built in unstable a few days ago.
Anyone got a clue what changed in the mean time? Is this rebuild
using a different linker than the one used by the autobuilders?

It looks like you uploaded libvorbis 1.3.4 the same day, and that new
upstream version correctly moves -lm from Libs to Libs.private in
vorbis.pc:

https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-xiph/libvorbis.git/tree/vorbis.pc.in?h=upstreamid=37c68547f31da4590a31baa0e17c00f20523a9b9

libtheora was built against the older libvorbis, so it had the
implicit -lm borrowed from libvorbis. A rebuild no longer gets that.

While testing stuff for the previous two reports, I noticed that every time a
reload of the images was triggered, cinnamon memory usage increased. Removing
the desklet did not free the memory, and after adding the desklet again, even
more memory was claimed. So, there must be some problem preventing the objects
to be freed. I did not investigate the cause.

Can you try this commit that should solves the problem?

Bug#768943: qa.debian.org: Jenkins installation tests could try different partitioning schemes

2014-11-10 Thread intrigeri
Package: qa.debian.org
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

after reading #768644 (that apparemntyl is caused by local
misconfiguration, but still), it occurred to me that it would be good
to automatically detect issues related to non-default
partitioning schemes.

An automated test could:

1. installs a clean testing and/or sid system
2. during installation, picks one of the automated partitioning
schemes; the test matrix shall be expanded on that axis
3. boots the resulting system
4. checks that the system is fully booted and all services correctly
   started (e.g. with `systemctl is-system-running')

To which Holger replied (privately, but allowing me to quote his
words):

so far the g-i tests only test the default automatic partitioning. I'm
definitly interested to test (many) more, also raid + crypted lvm and what
 not.

 but:

before investing (seriously) more energy in the current g-i tests, I'd like
 to
switch them from my horrible bash script to tails' wonderful
libvirt+cucumber+sakuli based thing, which I plan to get done in November
 (2014 :)

So, give me some time and then please send me patches ;-) Or, remind me then
again. Or: file a bug against qa.debian.org now :)

Hence filing this bug report so this idea is not forgotten.

Cheers,

Bug#703639: kill -HUP $(cat /var/run/syslog-ng.pid) can cause duplicate logging issues

Is this by any possibility some buffering issue when forwarding

It seems to be the d_graylog2 part, not sending traffic to a remote UDP

Do you have any more clues how to fix this properly?

Hi,

the guest filesystem (probably, this needs to be tested whether it works...)
could be mounted read-only once it's created and thus it should be possible to
repeatedly copy (or tail) syslog to the host during install, so that it could
be made availavle even if the installation fails...

cheers,

Bug#768952: ITP: python-invoke -- Pythonic task execution

2014-11-10 Thread Thomas Goirand
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Thomas Goirand z...@debian.org

* Package name: python-invoke
  Version : 0.9.0
Upstream Author : Jeff Forcier j...@bitprophet.org
* URL : https://pypi.python.org/pypi/invoke/0.9.0
* License : BSD-2-clause
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : Pythonic task execution

Invoke is a Python (2.6+ and 3.2+) task execution tool and library, drawing
inspiration from various sources to arrive at a powerful and clean feature
 set.
 .
Like Ruby's Rake tool and Invoke's own predecessor Fabric 1.x, it provides a
clean, high level API for running shell commands and defining/organizing task
 functions from a tasks.py file.
 .
From GNU Make, it inherits an emphasis on minimal boilerplate for common
patterns and the ability to run multiple tasks in a single invocation.
 .
Following the lead of most Unix CLI applications, it offers a traditional
flag-based style of command-line parsing, deriving flag names and value types
 from task signatures.
 .
Like many of its predecessors, it offers advanced features as well:
namespacing, task aliasing, before/after hooks, parallel execution and more.

This is yet another (indirect) dependency for OpenStack Fuel.

Bug#768951: mysql-server: missing soft dependency in init file

2014-11-10 Thread Vadim Kutchin
Package: mysql-server
Version: 5.5.40-0+wheezy1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,
I use zfs (in particullary zfsutils package from
http://archive.zfsonlinux.org/debian wheezy main repository) as a storage to
mysql datafiles.
Mount point is default mysql location, /var/lib/mysql. All mysql data files are
located on zfs filesystem, which must be mount on system boot.
But on my system mysql started before zfs because of no dependency mysql of zfs:

Zfs mount script from zfsutils package have this init information (part of
file) in its /etc/init/zfs-mount file:
# Provides: zvol zfs zfs-mount
# Required-Start: $local_fs
# Required-Stop:
# X-Stop-After: umountfs

And mysql start script from mysql-server-5.5 package have this init information
(also part of file) in its /etc/init.d/mysql file:
# Provides: mysql
# Required-Start:$remote_fs $syslog
# Required-Stop: $remote_fs $syslog
# Should-Start: $network $time
# Should-Stop: $network $time

So, after each reboot i must stop mysql, mount zfs and start mysql again by
hand.

As of Should-Start parameter in init script satisfy dependency only if it
present on system, it will be no harmful to add there zfs-mount dependency:
# Should-Start: $network $time $zfs-mount

Can you add this dependency on next release?
Thanks a lot!

Bug#768953: libpcl-dev: pkg-config files contain broken entry

2014-11-10 Thread Martin Lambers
Package: libpcl-dev
Version: 1.7.2-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

the pkg-config files pcl_io-1.7.pc and pcl_visualization-1.7.pc contain
the entry 'openni-dev' in the field 'Requires:'.

However, the pkg-config file of libopenni-dev is named libopenni.pc, not
openni-dev.pc.

The effect is that pkg-config cannot find these modules:
$ pkg-config --libs pcl_io-1.7.pc
Package openni-dev was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `openni-dev.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
Package 'openni-dev', required by 'pcl_io-1.7', not found

Replacing 'openni-dev' with 'libopenni' in both files fixes this
problem:
$ pkg-config --libs pcl_io-1.7.pc
-lpcl_io -lOpenNI -lpcl_octree -lpcl_common

Best regards,
Martin

Bug#768954: python-cssutils: Empty package, upgrade fails during alternative updates

2014-11-10 Thread Yannick Roehlly
Package: python-cssutils
Version: 1.0-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Hi,

The package does not contain the Python modules nor the scripts. The
missing scripts make the install fails during update-alternative:

update-alternatives: erreur: le chemin alternatif /usr/bin/cssparse_py2
n'existe pas

A first problem is that in the switch to pybuild you quoted:

export PYBUILD_NAME=cssutils

so pybuild will install everything in debian/python-cssutils and
those files wont be packaged. Note that python3-cssutils has the same
problem.

Also, you should take care of not packaging *_py2 scripts in the
Python 2 package (resp. *_py3 / Python 3) because even when correcting
PYBUILD_NAME, both Python 2 and 3 packages contain the same binaries.

Regards,

Yannick

Bug#768140: torsocks: FTBFS on kfreebsd-*

Hi,

Hi Steven other kfreebsd porters,

Steven Chamberlain wrote (07 Nov 2014 14:10:15 GMT) :

using SO_TYPE (widely available), and out of the available

 Actually it didn't work:

 | $ ./test_fd_passing

 | ok 2 - Unix socket 4 created at /tmp/torsocks-unix-fd-passing.sock

 | not ok 5 - Received INET socket through the unix socket

 | # Looks like you failed 1 test of 5.

The patch that introduces the FTBFS on kfreebsd-* fixes an important
bug that I'd like to see fixed in Jessie. Therefore, I intend to ask
the release team for an unblock request ASAP.

But I'd like to give you (kfreebsd porters, upstream) a chance to fix
the FTBFS before I do that. So, my current plan is to wait until
Friday night (CET), and at that point the kfreebsd-* build wasn't
repaired yet, then I'll file the unblock request. I'm sorry I can't
really give you folks more time, as the window to get fixes for
important bugs into Jessie closes early in December.

Cheers,

Bug#767103: irssi-plugin-otr doesn't work with irssi 0.8.17

2014-11-10 Thread intrigeri
Dear team-mates,

I don't care enough about irssi-plugin-otr to dig further into that
bug. I don't understand how this can possibly break. Can anyone
reproduce this RC bug and look into it?

It might be an unspotted ABI breakage in libotr, who knows. David,
does irssi-plugin-otr do anything strange that could tie it up more
tightly than e.g. pidgin-otr into the internals of libotr?

Shall we ask the release team for a binNMU of irssi-plugin-otr, and
postpone understanding the root cause of the bug? I'm concerned that
it may occur again each time we upgrade libotr, but as far as Jessie
is concerned, this might be the way to go.

Bug#768140: [Pkg-anonymity-tools] Bug#768140: torsocks: FTBFS on kfreebsd-*

Hi,

not wanting to interfere with intrigeris plans (which I think are sensible!),
but this doesn't really mean your hard deadline for fixing the FTBFS on
kfreebsd is this friday. FTBFS on kfreebsd is still an important bug, so if
there is a fix, there could still another upload for that fix before 5th of
December.

It's just less work for a few people if the patch would be ready this Friday
:) And it's also more certain to get it in this friday than in another
upload...

cheers,

Fabric is a Python (2.5-2.7) library and command-line tool for streamlining
the use of SSH for application deployment or systems administration tasks.
  .
It provides a basic suite of operations for executing local or remote shell
commands (normally or via sudo) and uploading/downloading files, as well as
auxiliary functionality such as prompting the running user for input, or
  aborting execution.

This is yet another dependency for OpenStack Fuel.

Looks like it's already packaged: https://packages.debian.org/sid/fabric

postinst fails on initial installation, because it tries to enable the
apache module, but libapache2-mod-shib2 is not yet configured so
 /etc/apache2/mods-available/ contains only shib2.load.dpkg-new.

It also looks like it is missing some dependencies.
In short, I'm trying to use shibboleth without apache (via nginx), but the
backported package assumes that apache2 is installed (thus a2enmod available).
Installation then fails as follow:

 apt-get install -t wheezy-backports shibboleth-sp2-common
 shibboleth-sp2-utils libshibsp6 liblog4shib1 libsaml8
 opensaml2-schemas libshibsp-plugins

 Errors were encountered while processing:
 shibboleth-sp2-utils
 E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

I'm raising the severity of this, since the backported package is currently
unusable in this case, due to the hard-coupled implicit dependency on Apache.

Russ, can you please revert/modify your a2enmod changes for the ~bpo revision?

I'd like to use the daemon part of shibboleth-sp2-utils in a standalone way,
and vanilla package from jessie seems to be better in that regard.

Cheers, Luca

Bug#768962: linux-image-3.2.0-4-sparc64-smp: [sparc] wheezy kernel hangs when loading i2c during boot

2014-11-10 Thread Hermann Lauer
Package: src:linux
Version: 3.2.63-2+deb7u1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

a regression in the hopefully still maintained wheezy sparc kernel: The older
version
linux-image-3.2.0-3-sparc64-smp boots without problems. This is a hard hang,
break
did not bring a prom prompt and a reset issued from the rsc is not working.
Only powering off from rsc works after around 10 sec delay.

Please ask if you need other information, will try a vanilla 3.17.2 kernel when
the machine reboots
the next time.

Thanks and greetings
  Hermann

latest libotr to wheezy-backports in the next few days (as per Julien
Cristau's suggestion) to avoid similar issues for pidgin-otr.

Anyway, if we do that, for future-proofness you'll want to make sure
that the manually added versioned dependency doesn't interfere badly
with ${shlibs:Depends} in case that one returns a dependency on
a newer version of libotr.

Also, it would be good if someone tried current libotr (backported to
Wheezy) + wheezy-backports' irssi-plugin-otr. I'd hate to break that
one when I upload the backport.

Bug#768398: anki: Old version can't sync with AnkiWeb

In the past, this has happened when the AnkiWeb server administrator
decided to force clients to use the most recent version. The newest
version on http://ankisrs.net/#linux is 2.0.31. Currently, Sid has version
  2.0.30.

Is it possible to move to 2.0.31? My apologies for posting here. The
problem is not precisely with the client, but rather with the AnkiWeb
server administration requiring lightning-fast client upgrades.

Yes, that is the usual problem with Anki. I had hoped for it to last a
little bit longer, but it was not to be as it seems. The thing is that
Debian is now frozen to prepare the jessie release and I can't just go
and upload new versions whenever they come out. Certainly I won't be
able to get them into jessie, which is going to have 2.0.30+dfsg-1.

Maybe I will upload new versions into experimental to have them
available to users of sid/unstable. I also intend to offer backports for
stable users, which is the only way to get a network syncable Anki in a
release with all that regular breaking of older versions.

 Andreas

So there's no chance, that jessie will have a working Anki version?
Syncing is a crucial part of the program.

Bug#768963: keepass2: KeePass crashes when trying to open a file using open file dialog (e.g. a kdbx or a key file)

2014-11-10 Thread Ali Vahdani
Package: keepass2
Version: 2.28+dfsg-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Whenever i try to browse and open a file inside KeePass (e.g. when trying to
create a new key file or opening a database) it crashes, the application window
hides but it does not exit.
I faced this problem a few month ago but i ignored it. I think this bug has
existed since then.
I tried to run it from console and it seems that an exception is thrown. here
is the stack trace:
