This function changes with the new libstdc++:

std::string pseudolocalize_string(const std::string& source);

android-libhost thus needs to be renamed.

(incidentally, the headers mention
std::string parent_dir(const std::string& path);
but the library doesn't seem to export that symbol)

I don't, I think it's important at least until it crashes every few minutes.
But I won't argue now :)

Seems you have libgtk-3-dbg installed (or whatever the name is) but not
libreoffice-dbg? Can you retry also with LO debug info before I attempt
to upstream this bug?

The wx BD has reverted to libwxgtk2.8-dev in 0.11.0-1:

https://sources.debian.net/src/openmsx-catapult/0.11.0-1/debian/control/#L5

Please switch it back to libwxgtk3.0-dev - 2.8 is obsolete and we're
trying to remove it (only 2 packages left now).

since I don't added Type or BusName, the unit file is Type=simple. because this

Bug#795152: 0ad: please make a new release for gcc5 transition

2015-08-10 Thread shirish शिरीष
Package: 0ad
Version: 0.0.18-1+b1
Severity: normal
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org

Dear Maintainer,

Due to gcc5 transition some dependencies have changed. Please
update/make a new release of 0ad so these new realities are part of it.

Couple of dependencies it is based upon libwxbase3.0-0 (>= 3.0.2),
libwxgtk3.0-0 (>= 3.0.2) are now libwxbase3.0-0v5 and  libwxgtk3.0-0v5
and hence the migration to the new libraries are blocked.

Look forward to it being fixed.

389-admin-console depends on 389-admin. Probably could relax that then.

The policy says that sysvinit needs to be supported, which is true in
this case (initscript provided). Plenty of packages depend on systemd
the package, not systemd-sysv.

I think the problem is that the virtual package phonon-backend is provided by
phonon-backend-gstreamer, phonon-backend-null, phonon-backend-vlc, phonon4qt5-
backend-gstreamer

Now what amazes me is that quassel is using qt4, so it shouldn't be using
qt5's phonon...

389-console does not depend on 389-ds-base:

Package: 389-console
Priority: extra
Section: universe/java
Installed-Size: 104
Maintainer: Ubuntu Developers
Original-Maintainer: Debian 389ds Team

Architecture: all
Version: 1.1.7-2

original issue remains, 389-ds-base needs to depend on systemd apparently.

Bug#795151: Kernel panic on shutdown after "ip -6 neigh add proxy ..."

2015-08-10 Thread Fredrik Roubert
Package: linux-image-3.16.0-4-amd64
Version: 3.16.7-ckt11-1+deb8u3
Tags: ipv6

On a virtual machine running jessie (in a pretty default configuration,
using systemd, etc.), I have an OpenVPN server configured like this:

https://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/wiki/IPv6

I use "ip -6 neigh add proxy ..." statements to configure the IPv6
routed block used for assigning addresses to the VPN clients, with
these rules in /etc/network/interfaces:

iface eth0 inet6 static
address :::7::1
netmask 64
gateway fe80::1
up ip -6 neigh add proxy :::8::1000 dev $IFACE
up ip -6 neigh add proxy :::8::1001 dev $IFACE
up ip -6 neigh add proxy :::8::1002 dev $IFACE
down ip -6 neigh del proxy :::8::1000 dev $IFACE
down ip -6 neigh del proxy :::8::1001 dev $IFACE
down ip -6 neigh del proxy :::8::1002 dev $IFACE

(The "down ip ..." statements have no influence on the bug described
here, the kernel panic happens also if they are removed.)

This all works, until attempting a "shutdown -r" which causes the
systemd shutdown process to proceed as expected all the way until it's
supposed to execute "networking: Deconfiguring network interfaces..."
but instead gets a kernel panic, logging the following in journalctl:

By the waythe backtrace was not in the original maio. Anyways I'll see why we

On Mon, 10 Aug 2015, Jakub Wilk wrote:

Perhaps this issue is due to g++ defaulting to a newer version of the C++

I don't think so. I'd rather blame:

* Test build with QuantumDepth 16 (closes: #557879).

But wait, isn't change of QuantumDepth an ABI breakage?
SONAME of the non-C++ library didn't change; it's still
/usr/lib/libGraphicsMagick.so.3.

As I know it's only an internal precision change, but doesn't affect
any method or function.

It changes the size of Quantum and IndexPacket (types), as well as the
value of MaxRGB, MaxMap, and TransparentOpacity (constants), so
unfortunately it is very much exposed to the API user.

If --enable-quantum-library-names was used as an option to the configure
script, then the shared library name would become like
libGraphicsMagick-Q16.so so the whole run-time library name is different.

It was not used. Should I add this? It seems it would cause more
trouble than win.

It should not cause much trouble. The link library name exposed to
developers is the normal name.

The main value is to allow two run-time libraries to be installed
side-by-side.

If the QuantumDepth 8 build did not use this option, then it would be named
as before and existing apps (compiled with QuantumDepth 8) should work with
it. This allows the libraries to co-exist.

It seems you also write that the quantum depth change shouldn't be a
problem for applications.

It depends on the application.

The package used for development needs to specify if it is for Q8 or Q16
since (barring other factors), it is only possible to develop for one at a
time.

As I know, GraphicsMagick will use roughly double the memory during
image processing with the latter, but that's what the user can see
(and that the output quality is better). Am I right?

The output quality is sometimes better, but often identical. The main
value is with preserving original quality for deeper images.

But to answer your question, the API for 1.3.21/QuantumDepth16 should
be the same as previously. I attach the symbols change between 1.3.20
and 1.3.21 ; the additions are for WebP image support and two symbols
(RegisterAVIImage, UnregisterAVIImage) are removed. As I see, a
versioned breaks is the only thing I need to add.

With Q16, the API has changed (from Q8) since the sizes of things
change.

Bug#795060: Latest Wheezy backport kernel prefers Infiniband mlx4_en over mlx4_ib, breaks existing installs

2015-08-10 Thread Christian Balzer

Hello Ben,

thanks for the quick and detailed reply.

I was wondering about that, but wasn't aware of the Ethernet only bit of
SR-IOV.
Anyway, the previous cluster and one blade of this new one have Mellanox
firmware 2.30.8000, which doesn't offer the Flexboot Bios menu and thus
have no SR-IOV configuration option at boot time.

However the other blade (replacement mobo for a DoA one) in the new server
does have firmware 2.33.5100 and the Flexboot menu and had SR-IOV enabled.

Alas disabling it (and taking out the fake-install) did result in the same
behavior, mlx4_en was auto-loaded before mlx4_ib.

In all following tests I did reboot both nodes simultaneously, to avoid
having one port in Ethernet mode forcing things on the other side.

Also the newest QDR card for one of the Ceph cluster machines here does
have that firmware, but behaves properly (no mlx4_en auto-load) with the
latest Jessie kernel.

I added that "options mlx4_core port_type_array=1" (since there is only
one port) to /etc/modprobe.d/local.conf, depmod -a, update-initramfs -u,
but no joy.
The mlx4_en module gets auto-loaded before the IB one as well with this
setting.

So ultimately only the fake-install of mlx4_en provides a workaround.

If you have anything else you would like to try let me know, this cluster
will probably not go into production for another 2 weeks.

Fair enough.

Of course, but it would have still a) broken things (replication stopped)
and b) taken me even more time to figure out what was going on and how to
work around it as I can't reboot that cluster willy-nilly.

There simply is a very high expectation that a kernel update like this
won't leave you dead in the water.

Bug#795149: TestU01 license status

2015-08-10 Thread Christoph Anton Mitterer
Hey Pierre, Richard.

TestU01 has been finally packaged for Debian[0], however in the so
called "non-free" section, as the license situation is still unclear.

The website[1] claims that the license would be GPL3 or later but the
source tarball's COPYING files names another license, which Debian
would consider non-free.

Could you please officially clarify the situation (please keep the
bug's email address CCed) and/or even better update the tarball with
the correct license?

Thanks in advance,
Chris.

Bug#795149: testu01: license status

2015-08-10 Thread Christoph Anton Mitterer
Source: testu01
Severity: normal

Hey.

I just noted that this has been finally packaged for Debian :-)
... but in non-free.

At least the website http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/~simardr/testu01/copyright.html
which seems to be from 2009-08-18 that the license has actually been changed
to GPL3+.
The COPYING file in the tarball which still shows a non-free license is from
an older date.
So maybe they just forgot to update it?!

I'll do another round of querying the original developers,
maybe the could update the tarball.

Cheers,
Chris

Bug#778103: reconserver FTBFS.

2015-08-10 Thread peter green

Trying to look at #778103, things stopped quite soon since your
package has a build-dep on librecon-1.9-dev while the archive only
has librecon-1.10-dev.

I just tested the obvious change of changing the build-dependency from
librecon-1.9-dev to librecon-1.10-dev and the error I got looks the same
as the one in bug 778103.

The junk does randomly change if I move up and down, but simply pressing
"e" to enter the dependency resolver shows the junk as well. I suspect
they're the same issue, so if you want to fix that one and see if I can
still reproduce it afterwards, please feel free.

I suppose the idea was to skip USB devices, thinking that they were all
removable, but I can't be certain without seeing the generator, which
has been removed.

If you're going to autogenerate the name, please autogenerate it such
that it's consistent with the naming scheme. The comment in
udev-builtin-net_id.c indicates that ww is appropriate here. People
should be able to predict interface names, such that configuration can
be autogenerated (e.g. for puppet). Naming some WWAN devices as ww but
others as en is silly.

Bug#795144: clementine: Fix FTBFS with qt4 moc & boost includes.

2015-08-10 Thread Robert Bruce Park
Package: clementine
Version: 1.2.3+dfsg-3
Severity: important
Tags: patch
User: ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com
Usertags: origin-ubuntu wily ubuntu-patch

Dear Maintainer,

The attached patch resolves the clementine FTBFS by wrapping boost includes in
a way that causes the buggy qt4 moc to ignore them.

*** /tmp/tmpgSMehO/bug_body

In Ubuntu, the attached patch was applied to achieve the following:

  * Wrap boost imports with '#ifndef Q_MOC_RUN // #endif' to avoid qt4 moc
issues.

Thanks for considering the patch.

Bug#795131: libreoffice-core: segfault in libvclplug_gtk3lo.so

2015-08-10 Thread Christoph Anton Mitterer
Control: severity -1 grave

Hey.

Apparently the issue happens much more often than it seemed in the
beginning.
I think this justifies at least the severity grave, if not critical
("data loss" vs. "serious data loss"... well I one write's hist PhD
thesis and Libreoffice crashes, one may consider this very well serious
;-) )

Anyway, I had run libreoffice for a while with --backtrace, so attached
you'll finde a bt.

menus are done by libxaw7 (will reassign).

By the way, this is a wishlist item.

Indeed, thanks for spotting that. I have changed the test to
/usr/bin/tl-paper

Different thing - there is was due to the remaining texmf -> texmf-dist
now it is due to removal ;-)

Thanks, is already in the git repo and will be in the next upload.

Bug#795137: nutcracker: add systemd unit file

please see attached patch that adds a systemd unit file for nutcracker.

If you wish, I can commit it directly into collab git.

Heh, I was already working on it, which is why 0.4.1 is being held up :)
Thanks, though!

I actually want to do this differently: I want to use a type=simple unit
(easy), stop writing a pidfile altogether (needs a partial revert of my
sysconf patch, plus associated init script/upstart fixes) and possibly
log to stderr so that systemd can catch the log stream.

I'm planning to work on all that at DebCamp towards the end of the week
but if you want to give it a shot until then, I'd be more than happy to! :)

Best,
Faidon

This last paragraph may sound a bit harsh. I am sorry for that. I just
consider that this shouldn't be a Lintian error. Not even a warning.

Looks like we need to work on backporting three commits to 1.0.2,
1.3.3, and 1.4.2:

- https://github.com/golang/go/commit/117ddcb83d7f42d6aa72241240af99ded81118e9
- https://github.com/golang/go/commit/300d9a21583e7cf0149a778a0611e76ff7c6680f
- https://github.com/golang/go/commit/143822585e32449860e624cace9d2e521deee62e

I foolishly started my attempts with 1.0.2 so I'm not making a lot of
progress. I'd imagine the patches will be simpler to apply to 1.4.2
first (since it's much more recent and should have a more familiar
codebase to what the patches are expecting).

The easiest way for me to get an XMPP server running was to install
prosody, lua-sec, and libdigest-hmac-perl. Beware of #748721, edit
the certificate name in /etc/prosody/prosody.cfg.lua. Then use
prosodyctl to create an account.

If it's of any help, I can provide a root account on a test machine
for you, with a running prosody server. Send me your public ssh key.
But ... see below.

Bad news: This is *not* a remedy against the error messages here.
Additionally, this raises new warnings (three times):

| WARNING: debug file () does not exist
| and is not writable by you.
| No debug information being saved.

This also happens without any setuid quirks, the messages are
generated by

* /usr/share/perl5/XML/Stream.pm:401 (one time)
* /usr/share/perl5/XML/Stream/Parser.pm:135 (two times)

Modulo the above messages this is probably the way to go since there
are more problems on the political layer: If you run my small script
in Perl's taint mode, it will croak in other places:

| Insecure dependency in eval while running with -T switch at
/usr/share/perl5/Authen/SASL/Perl.pm line 58.
|  at /usr/share/perl5/XML/Stream.pm line 2155.

So a can of worms is waiting to be opened ...

AND: While I managed to reproduce the issue in my usual test systems,
I failed to do so in a fresh, plain jessie install, the one I could
easily grant you access to. So I still cannot make you see it with
your own eyes.¹ At first, I really should find the differences between
these two installations. I'll get back to you then.

Bug#791197: lv2-c++-tools: library transition may be needed when GCC 5 is the default

If there isn't a reason to suspect there are library users outside Debian,
it seems less disruptive to assume there are not. If it's absolutely
necessary, there can be a follow-up transition afterwards.

jcristau said on IRC that the release team would prefer to have packages
with no known reason for a transition taken off their radar; there are too
many library renames going on at once as it is. So I'd suggest closing
this bug.

Bug#794892: autogen: please make the build reproducible (cpu, locale, timestamps)

2015-08-10 Thread Bruce Korb

Or maybe we can use SOURCE_DATE_ISO8601 and truncate it?

I've mulled it over a bit. These templates are about producing man page like
documentation and not just documentation of the autogen sources. Therefore,
it makes more sense to me to use MAN_PAGE_DATE and drop references to "SOURCE".
So I will not be using anything that is pretty much exclusively tied to
environment variables used by the Debian release process. Please set and
export MAN_PAGE_DATE according to your needs and it will be inserted exactly
thus (without any fiddling) into the generated docs. Well, will be come "pre13"
or my final release. I am trying to polish some kinks that affect the NTP
project before bumping out a final release.

Thank you for your help and consideration.

There's lots of public symbols in cal3d involving std::string, so
libcal3d12 will need to be renamed.

There is a possible patch at

blitz::Timer::ivar_ gets renamed as part of the rebuild. While that
looks like a private variable, it seems to be accessed by inlined
methods, so I think that means libblitz0ldbl needs a rename.

The rebuild with new libstdc++ causes a lot of renamed symbols, so
libalglib3.9 needs to be renamed.

Bug#765953: I had a similar problem, seems fixed on the upstream Kernel 4.1.4

2015-08-10 Thread Ronoaldo José de Lana Pereira
Hi!

I have a Lenovo G40-70 laptop that has this particular wifi card. I also
don't think this bug is related to the firmware, but I do think that this
issue is related to the driver, maybe this could get reassigned.

Since last year, I have followed a set of different tutorials, but none
fully fixed my problem. Here are some of my findings:

- Using Jessie stock kernel (3.16), the connection using my device is very
poor, and it disconnects very often (around every 10~30min). I attempted
the aproach of setting some kernel parameters, without much success. Some
of the parameters to set to avoid this due to powersave are not even
available in that kernel version.
- I found the rtlwifi_new Github repo, but was unable to test it. But I
also noted that Larry Finger merged some important paches into the
mainstream Kernel, and decided to try newer kernels.
- I did a custom build of the kernel 3.18 and 4.0.1, with better results,
but the issue was just attenuated. I was able to use the connection much
better than with the previous kernel, but was unable to keep it fully
working. Randomly, the connection dropped. The way I would describe
*dropped* is: you browse a site, then you click a link, and the new tab
open the link, get "loading" for a few seconds, and raises "error no
internet". When the connection was dropped, I had to manually disconnect
using Network Manager, then reconnect. This was happening randomly,
anything between a few minutes to, eventually, some hours of usage.

I was following the recent kernel changelogs for a while, and 4.1.4 has a
significant patch affecting this particular driver:
https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git/commit/?h=linux-4.1.y&id=33e1432c291b72339b03ea3450d7840cdba1dbe1

An infinity loop when running iperf was triggering the behavior of a
"blocked" wifi, which, from my analysis bellow, was the actual root cause
of my random disconnects: if those blocks were in the process of a wpa
rekey event or the like.

I was able to build 4.1.4 and could notice that the patch indeed fixed the
random disconnection issues for me.

I have also posted a reply to this open thread here:
http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=118557&p=588289#p588289

For the reference about the bug, here are my wifi adapter information (from
lspci -v):
02:00.0 Network controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8723BE PCIe
Wireless Network Adapter
Subsystem: Lenovo Device b736
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 19

Capabilities: [150] Latency Tolerance Reporting
Capabilities: [158] L1 PM Substates
Kernel driver in use: rtl8723be

And my modproble setup: # cat /etc/modprobe.d/rtl_wifi.conf
options rtl8723be fwlps=0 swlps=0 ips=1 msi=1 debug=0

Hope this helps investigate the problem. Also, the same issues happen with
another wifi card I have, rtl8192cu; this one was not affected by the patch
and I'll test it as well on the newer kernel.

Please let me know if you want me to help doing any further tests in order
to help diagnose/debug/fix the problem.

Well, half of the time I spend on packaging of python-netaddr is on
those IEEE files. They change their locations, they get new lintian
_errors_, they are tiresome. Why is it an error and not just an
information?

If I start generating those files at install time, I am pretty sure that
I will get bug because I am generating files outside of /var, because I
don't purge them appropriately, because they are not regenerated when
ieee-data is updated or stuff like that. Building them at compile time
is a fine alternative. The package gets updated about one time per year
and the data is refreshed at this moment.

Although, you have to be aware that there's going to be 38.2.0esr in

Bug#795139: debian-installer: Softlink target path for /initrd.img is different from /vmlinuz

2015-08-10 Thread Anders Andersson
Package: debian-installer
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

This is a bug so minor, that I am embarassed to report it. It has, however,
bugged me for some time now. After a fresh install of debian jessie, the
softlinks from /initrd.img and /vmlinuz points to different locations:

lrwxrwxrwx   1 root root   31 Aug 10 22:20 initrd.img ->
/boot/initrd.img-3.16.0-4-amd64
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root root   27 Aug 10 22:20 vmlinuz ->
boot/vmlinuz-3.16.0-4-amd64

Notice how one is to "/boot" (absolute path) and one is to "boot" (relative
path).

I would expect these to refer to the exact same boot path. Now, this shouldn't
have any relevance unless one actually moves those links, but the difference
could eventually make a difference (no pun intended). I don't know which one is
more correct: /boot or boot. I also do not know exactly which package creates
those links. I tried to search for them but I could not find any better package
which is why I report it to debian-installer.

Bug#794936: installation-guide: claims it will use "CD-ROM" as cover-term then doesn't

2015-08-10 Thread Samuel Thibault
I'm also wondering: this will make all the corresponding translation
bits out of date, thus disabling the translation here and there in the
manual. I'm thus wondering who should work on updating them. It's
not nice for translators to see a flurry of fuzzy entries just because
of a CD -> CD-ROM update which could have been processed more or less
automatically for all languages.

In most languages, CD-ROM has been kept as such, so it'd make sense
to apply the same change in all those languages more or less
automatically.

A few others have translated the term, I guess we want the same
standardization process there, possibly handled by translators
themselves? The decision on which places should get the standard term
is probably to be homogeneous across translations, though.

There's a number of std::string and std::wstring references in
lttoolbox's public symbols; liblttoolbox3-3.3-0 should be renamed.

You may want to check out the patch at

Bug#792624: multiarch = same and different date-entries in generated man page of i32/i64

2015-08-10 Thread Roelof Berg
I had a look at the idea of writing manpages manually (as upstream) and
unfortunately saw some difficulties: Because OpenBSD and Linux use
different *roff syntax, man vs. mdoc, if I understodd it correctly,
generating the man pages in the syntax of the actual operating system
would be the most portable way (everyone: correct me if I'm wrong). I
don't want to favor Linux or BSD or Windows (just kidding :) in the
source tarball.

Defining SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH and using the latest help2man version did
_not_ fix the date on my system. Even worse: I'm also using doxygen for
the man page of the library, which isn't capable of using
SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH anyway. So SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH doesn't seem to be the
right direction for me.

I'm thinking of rude stuff now: Patching the manpages after generation
with my own script, taking the date based on dpkg-parsechangelog as
input. Maybe it's possible with SED.

I can't be the first one facing this issues, right ? Thanks for the
excellent feedback so far.

Bug#794968: zsh: please clear console on logout (if recommended config is used)

* Carsten Hey [2015-08-09 18:05 +0200]:
> Pasting the code that would be part of the recommended .zlogout could
> help to clarify some things, but there's still a GPL'd triviality in it.

Without the GPL'd trivial check of being a subshell - i.e., this test
needs to be added before it can be shipped, a ~/.zlogout could look like
this:

if  [[ -z ${SSH_CONNECTION-}${TMUX-}${debian_chroot-} ]] &&
[[ ${0##*/} != (-su|su) && -x /usr/bin/clear_console ]]
then
/usr/bin/clear_console || :
fi

The first line is mainly used to avoid accessing the hard disk and
spawning a new process in some common cases - only the check for an
empty ${debian_chroot-} might be required, depending on the actual
implementation of schroot et al.

Also using [[ ${TTY-} != /dev/pts/* ]] would avoid running clear_console
in other cases and possibly make checking ${SSH_CONNECTION-} and
${TMUX-} obsolete.

  As the build-profiles stuff breaks horribly on all wheezy buildds[0] and
I'd really like to get that fix on kfreebsd *soon*, would it be possible
to have dpkg uploaded without build-profiles again?

Bug#794967: zsh: please enhance /etc/zshrc

2015-08-10 Thread Carsten Hey
Hi,

running zsh -u leads to this warning message:

/etc/zsh/zshrc:14: DEBIAN_PREVENT_KEYBOARD_CHANGES: parameter not set

(My answer to "Don't do that" is "If this is not allowed, zsh should not
 accept -u for interactive shells".)

The fix is to replace lines 14 and 15 with:

if [[ -z "${DEBIAN_PREVENT_KEYBOARD_CHANGES-}" ]] &&
   [[ "${TERM-}" != 'emacs' ]]

We agreed on using unalias -m, not unhash -m. Whether the argument
should be quoted is in this case just a matter style, personal
preferences and syntax highlighting.

> The '|| true' is to make sure the setup file exits with successful
> status.

If it is sourced with errexit set, or if someone removes the final line
(which might not be that unlikely) and sources this file, appending '||
:' or '|| true' (the former is a POSIX special builtin, but zsh seems to
ignore this difference) actually makes a difference, and for the errexit
case it would not be sufficient to make the final command return 0.

During shell startup errexit is ignored in /etc/zsh/zshrc. I don't
know whether the exit status of /etc/zsh/zshrc could matter.
I also don't know why anybody would source /etc/zsh/zshenv, but
appending '|| :' just in case someone does seems to be sensible.

Could anybody with commit access please replace the old unalias line
with one of lines below?

unalias -m 'run-help' || :
unalias -m 'run-help' || true
unalias -m run-help || :
unalias -m run-help || true

This bug actually is about the bindkey stuff we don't agree on, and
I don't consider this robustness fixes to sufficient to close the bug
(YMMV and you are free close this bug anyway). Maybe it could be tagged
as wontfix to document that we don't agree currently.

2015-08-10 Thread Mehdi Dogguy

On 2011-06-05 11:56, Paul Wise wrote:

It would be nice if the status text/icons linked via anchors to the
relevant part of the status/packages.php page containing more info
(failure reason, log tail or dependency installability issues list).
This would be useful since it would make it easier to go from the
status

info to more information about the failures, especially for the
multi-package status pages.

I've implemented this for the multi-package view, but not for
single-page
views. The latter requires more work... and if you have a package so
broken

that you need to scroll on the page, then you deserved that pain. :D

The result can be viewed on:

https://buildd.debian.org/tmp/~mehdi/status/package.php?p=ants%2Cfreerdp%2Cplplot%2Cindicator-applet%2Ckatoob%2Cesajpip&suite=sid&compact=compact#issues-plplot

If you are happy with that, I can push it and close this bug.

Bug#795102: libgraphicsmagick1-dev: undefined reference to `Magick::Color::Color(unsigned short, unsigned short, unsigned short)'

2015-08-10 Thread Jakub Wilk

* László Böszörményi (GCS) , 2015-08-10, 21:53:

* Test build with QuantumDepth 16 (closes: #557879).

But wait, isn't change of QuantumDepth an ABI breakage? SONAME of the
non-C++ library didn't change; it's still
/usr/lib/libGraphicsMagick.so.3.
As I know it's only an internal precision change, but doesn't affect
any method or function.

At least the PixelPacket struct has changed, which is rather
fundamental part of the ABI, and not internal at all.

And practically, this is what happens in stretch, with
libgraphicsmagick3 upgraded to 1.3.21-2:

$ pdf2djvu /usr/share/doc/quilt/quilt.pdf --fg-colors 42 -p1 -d72 -o tmp.djvu
/usr/share/doc/quilt/quilt.pdf:
- page #1 -> #1
pdf2djvu: malloc.c:3695: _int_malloc: Assertion `(unsigned long) (size) >=
(unsigned long) (nb)' failed.
Magick: abort due to signal 6 (SIGABRT) "Abort"...
Aborted

(I think pdf2djvu doesn't work correctly with high quantum depths
anyway, but that's another story... I'll get it fixed upstream.)

2015-08-10 Thread Oleksandr Gavenko
Package: grub-common
Version: 2.02~beta2-22

I like GRUB_TIMEOUT=0 setting as always think that holding SHIFT or ESC key
during boot stop GRUB2 from automatically selecting menu entry.

Shift key come in mind from https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2 article.

But holding shift does not stop GRUB from loading, this may be achieved by
config like (I test it):

  $ cat /sudo:root@deblaptop:/etc/grub.d/50_shift_key

I noticed that htseq currently does not build due to transition issues.

Would you be able to care for the sphinx 1.3 issue once gcc-5 related

I am currently testing that problem against the 0.11.2 that I am currently
packaging. I am not able to reproduce the problem with that version, can you
please try to reproduce it with that version, after I uploaded it?

Dear Maintainer,
Due to gcc5 transition some dependencies have changed. While I have
libwx-perl but if I really needed it, it would have been uninstallable
and is an issue while updating other packages. The dependencies which
are affected right now are :-

libwxbase3.0-0 (>= 3.0.2), libwxgtk-media3.0-0 (>=3.0.2),
libwxgtk3.0-0 (>= 3.0.2)

They need to be changed to libwxbase3.0-0v5, libwxgtk-media3.0-0v5 and
libwxgtk3.0-0v5 . Please do the needful.

$ sudo aptitude install libwxbase3.0-dev libwxgtk-media3.0-dev

The following NEW packages will be installed:
  libwxbase3.0-0v5{ab} libwxgtk-media3.0-0v5{ab} libwxgtk3.0-0v5{ab}
The following packages will be upgraded:

3) libwxbase3.0-0
4) libwxgtk-media3.0-0
5) libwxgtk3.0-0

Bug#794936: installation-guide: claims it will use "CD-ROM" as cover-term then doesn't

Baffling.  I thought the ~/standardize_on_CD-ROM_as_cover-term.patch
that I attached was the same file as I'd included in the body. I
don't know where the other version comes from - I don't even know what
kind of svn diff I'd need to do to get it.

Fortunately since it was in my home directory overnight there's also a
copy in my backups, and it turns out to be the good version. That's
perhaps the most baffling part of all, but here it is.

Bug#758975: disk filling up because of this

2015-08-10 Thread Alvaro Herrera
Hi package maintainers,

We are being bitten by this bug: since the SQLite functionality is not
yet finished in the version packaged for Jessie, there seems to be no
cleanup of the database file, which grows without bound. Disk fills up
every few weeks because of this (fortunately our monitoring complains
and we're able to delete the sqlite file when this happens). The sqlite
database doesn't seem to provide any extra features, either.

I think it'd be good to upload a version packaged without the sqlite
option.

Our version is 1.8.8-5.

Bug#795102: libgraphicsmagick1-dev: undefined reference to `Magick::Color::Color(unsigned short, unsigned short, unsigned short)'

 As I know it's only an internal precision change, but doesn't affect
any method or function.

 It was not used. Should I add this? It seems it would cause more
trouble than win.

 It seems you also write that the quantum depth change shouldn't be a
problem for applications.

 As I know, GraphicsMagick will use roughly double the memory during
image processing with the latter, but that's what the user can see
(and that the output quality is better). Am I right?

 Yes, it's now compiled with GCC 5.2.x and the name mangling is
changed for the C++ library. There are known regressions[1] between
v4.9 and v5 , but I don't know too much details.
While you are right in #795099 that the two libgraphicsmagick++
libraries are co-installable, but I fear that the two C++ ABIs would
cause more problems. The reverse dependencies list is small, those can
be re-compiled with the new library version.

Laszlo/GCS

Bug#795133: SMIME does not work with non-ascii emails in RT 4.2.8-3 and 4.2.11-1

2015-08-10 Thread Max Kosmach

Package: request-tracker4
Version: 4.2.8-3
Severity: important
Tags: patch

Hi!

When SMIME support in 4.2.8-3 is enabled I have a problem with non-ascii signed
emails.
When this email received by RT I see error like this in logs:

Aug 10 17:01:59 rt postfix/local[4066]: D66DD14A005: to=, relay=local, delay=158, delays=158/0.03/0/0.4, dsn=4.3.0, status=deferred
(temporary failure. Command output: RT server error. The RT server which handled your email did not behave as expected. It said: Cannot decode
string with wide characters at /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/perl/5.20/Encode.pm line 175. Stack: [/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/perl/5.20/Encode.pm:175]

[/usr/share/request-tracker4/html/REST/1.0/NoAuth/mail-gateway:61]  )

Same problem with 4.2.11-1 when I send same email from CLI:

Cannot decode string with wide characters at
/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/perl5/5.20/Encode.pm line 200.

Stack:

  [/usr/share/request-tracker4/lib/RT/Interface/Email.pm:1321]
  [/usr/share/request-tracker4/html/REST/1.0/NoAuth/mail-gateway:61]

RT server error.

I think patch below fixes this problem, but I don't know is this patch fully
correct or not:

Bug#795102: libgraphicsmagick1-dev: undefined reference to `Magick::Color::Color(unsigned short, unsigned short, unsigned short)'

2015-08-10 Thread Jakub Wilk

Duh, I forgot the attachment.

* Bob Friesenhahn , 2015-08-10, 13:27:

Regardless, if GCC 5.X is now being used (is this the case?),

I get the same error both with GCC 4.9 and GCC 5.

I would suspect that the C++ default ABI (and libraries) have changed
(to C++ 11) and this results in different name mangling.

This is true in general, but I don't believe anything that would affect
this particular constructor have changed.

2015-08-10 Thread Christoph Anton Mitterer
Package: libreoffice-core

Hey Rene.

Not sure whether the following helps you and unfrotunately I
could not reproduce it so far.

Just before my LibreOffice segfaulted:

I double clicked some cell in Calc.

Don't have more information right now, and if I find no way
to reproduce I may never have.
So feel free to close right ahead if the above doesn't
already help you.

Cheers,

Bug#795127: redhat-cluster: FTBFS with gcc5: get_time/_diff_tv have incorrect "inline"

Dear Maintainer,

The package fails to build. I believe the issue is that gcc5 is

Bug#795126: kmix: Volume rises always to 100 % level with system sounds

2015-08-10 Thread Timo Poikola
Package: kmix
Version: 4:15.04.3-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * I just updated Sid with "apt-get dist-upgrade"
   * Desktop in use: KDE
   * This bug can reproduced with "mkdir foo && kwrite foo" in Konsole
   * Volume level in kmix rises from 0 % to 100 % and system plays an error
sound. In my case, there is good amplifier and good speakers, so my hearing
may seriously injure with 100 % volume level. If I put level to 0 %, I does not
expect any warning sound with HIGH VOLUME. I set severity level to critical,
because this can damage my hearing.
   * Plain error popup message, no sound at all.
   * Btw, I tried to unset all notification sounds from the system settings,
but kwrite always plays this error sound)

libpcre++ exports a number of symbols involving std::string, so
libpcre++0 needs to be renamed.

Bug#795125: transition: libassimp3 -> libassimp3v5

2015-08-10 Thread IOhannes m zmoelnig
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: transition

Due to the gcc-5 transition, the "libassimp3" package from "assimp" has changed
exported symbols and has been renamed to "libassimp3v5".
The SONAME has *not* changed.

I have uploaded "assimp_3.1.1~dfsg-4" to "experimental".
So far the package has built on all architectures already in testing, except for
armel/armhf/mips/mipsel which are still waiting for a buildd to be assigned.
I'm sure that those builds will succeed as well :-)

There are currently 2 packages in Debian that have listed libassimp-dev as
build-dependency, so they need to be rebuilt:
- mrpt
- doomsday

I have built both reverse-dependencies, with the following result:

- "doomsday" builds fine.

- "mrpt" FTBFS with the following error:
../../lib/libmrpt-vision.so.1.3.1: undefined reference to
`cv::Algorithm::_create(std::__cxx11::basic_string, std::allocator > const&)'
this looks very much like an unrelated issue (hinting that libopencv needs to
transition to libopencv*v5 as well).
a quick "rgrep -i assimp ." indicates, that assimp is used in the following
modules of mrpt:
 - apps/SceneViewer3D
 - libs/maps
 - libs/nav
 - libs/opengl
 - libs/slam
i've build all of them manually, and they built fine.
so i think that 'mrpt' is also ready for the libassimp3v5 transition (though it
is blocked by a potential libopencv*v4 transition)

In terms of 'ben' lingo, I think that the transition has the following
parameters:

title = "assimp";
is_affected = .depends ~ "libassimp3" | .depends ~ "libassimp3v5";
is_good = .depends ~ "libassimp3v5";
is_bad = .depends ~ "libassimp3";

Please schedule binNMUs for the above mentioned packages on all architectures.

gfmards
IOhannes

Bug#795124: please add a version number in os-release also for unreleased distributions

2015-08-10 Thread Daniel Baumann
Package: base-files
Version: 9.2
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

i would like to get the version number of a debian distribution
consistently, regardless if on a stable or testing/unstable system.

in the past, it has been that unstable/testing generally does not have a
release number assigned, and that it would be only assigned relatively
shortly before a release.

however, "now" that debian seem to have a predictable version scheme
(where every new release gets a new major number, like 8 for jessie, 9
for stretch etc.), /etc/os-release imho should have a VERSION_ID=9 on
testing/unstable.

i checked with current fedora rawhide, they also assign it
(VERSION_ID=24) regardless the fact that it's not release yet. it seems
right to do that, and to track the 'is released or not' with another
mechanism than the sole existence (or absence) of a VERSION_ID.

therefore, please add corresponding VERSION and VERSION_ID values to
base-files in testing/unstable too.

Regards,
Daniel

Some public symbols break with the rebuild, including much of kcfile, so
libkyotocabinet16 needs to be renamed.

There's a possibly helpful patch at
