Bug#699861: libltdl-dev is LGPL, not GPL

2015-10-08 Thread Olaf Meeuwissen
I stumbled on the same issue. Note that this also applies to the
libltdl library package.

In addition, I'd like to mention that the libtool info[1] also states
that libltdl is LGPL. It doesn't mention a version though.

 [1] https://www.gnu.org/software/libtool/manual/html_node/Using-libltdl.html

Hope this helps,

Sure, here they are. Though there is nothing of interest just after the
crash and initialization messages look very ordinary. Should I
have increased a verbosity level somewhere?

Please also try with keeping the line uncommented, and version 0.33.3-3

the line uncommented. If the changes that went into 0.33.3-3 are good

Bug#801279: mitmproxy: downgrade `pyperclip` dependency to `Recommanded`

Bug#801282: SSH support broken in first invocation of gnupg-agent

2015-10-08 Thread Joachim Breitner
Package: gnupg-agent
Version: 2.1.8-1
Severity: normal

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi,

this is a bit weird. It might be a duplicate of #798956

SSH support is broken with the instance of gnupg-agent that is started
via Xsession. The environment is set up correctly, i.e.
SSH_AUTH_SOCK=/home/jojo/.gnupg/S.gpg-agent.ssh
the process listens on that socket (verified using lsof) and accepts a
connection there when I run ssh. But ssh seems to be unable to
communicate with the agent and behaves as if it had no valid key.

The interesting thing is that after
killall gpg-agent && gpg-agent --daemon
during a running session, everything works fine.

The arguments passed to gpg-agent (--daemon) are the same as with the
initial process.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Greetings,
Joachim

Bug#801281: switch to gtk3

2015-10-08 Thread chrysn
Package: midori
Version: 0.5.11-2.1
Severity: wishlist

please consider building future versions of midori using gtk3; most
important feature for me is finger scrolling that comes with it on touch
devices.

i've modified the package locally; a working version can be obtained by
the following changes (to build a gtk3 version only -- other distros
seem to build both, is there actually need for that?):

* add -DUSE_GTK3=1 to the dh_auto_configure options
* use newer build dependencies:

  libwebkitgtk-dev -> libwebkitgtk-3.0-dev
  libgtk2.0-dev -> libgtk-3-dev
  libunique-dev -> libunique-3.0-dev

(tbh, i just installed the relevant packages and built with -d).

i'll be using that build for some more time and report gtk3 related
problems here. i'm actively using several addons with no issues so far,
but did not test browser plugins.

an amd64 build for quick testing can be found on my personal archive at
http://archive.amsuess.com/pool/main/m/midori/ .

My specific issue seems to be fixed with 0.33.3-2, thanks for the update.

Unfortunate timing though. I see that today's update of openjdk-7 will
disable ATK support again [1]. So I specifically held back the update to
stick with 7u85-2.6.1-3 for the testing.

I'd like to see the titles of the two blocking bugs reported here, too,
(to allow some kind of sanity checking while reading this transcript)
as well as links to them (in case I want to check further).

Also
* why isn't this a https:// URL nowadays?
* could you use the short form instead?

Never mind! By "costy" I meant "it drains off my high-speed volume". It

Bug#800617: Fails to provide secrets

2015-10-08 Thread Mikhail Morfikov
Package: gnome-keyring
Version: 3.18.0-2
Followup-For: Bug #800617

I've just upgraded the gnome-keyring package, and I think that didn't solve my
issues. I think it's the same situation as it was before, but there's another
thing worth mentioning.

When my openbox starts I have the following processes:

$ ps aux | grep gnome
morfik16743 0.0 0.0 122748 516 ?Sl 09:52 0:00 /usr/bin
/gnome-keyring-daemon --daemonize --login
morfik16891 0.0 0.2 216104 5676 ?Sl 09:52 0:00 /usr/lib/at-
spi2-core/at-spi2-registryd --use-gnome-session

When I do nothing, after a minute or so, the first process disappears. I'm not
sure whether this should happen or not, so I'm just sharing my observations
with you.

Anyways, I have two apps that I often use: gajim and ssh. When I type in a
terminal "gajim" after logging into my system, everything works just fine. I
mean the above processes stay the same, and there's no lag when the app starts.
I don't have to type any passwords manually in order to log into my jabber
accounts, so the keyring works. When I close the app and reopen it again, it
also works as expected. The problem is when I want to issue ssh command -- I
get lag here and the message in the log:

Oct 08 09:53:47 morfikownia gnome-keyring-daemon[16743]: The Secret Service was
already initialized

Still, gajim (when restarted) works just fine, but issuing ssh command again
gives the lag. It looks like they're separated somehow.

The funniest thing is that when I switch the order of issuing the two commands,
so in this case the ssh command would be the fist one after login, it works
just fine, with no lag and any message in the log. But when I start gajim after
that, there's a lag and the message in the log, and of course password prompts.

So it looks like there's just only one process (the first one started after
login) that can work just fine with gnome-keyring, and the others get a lag
when started.

Another observation is that I get doubled process when the lagged application
is starting:

$ ps aux | grep gnome
morfik16743 0.0 0.3 205072 7292 ?Sl 09:52 0:00 /usr/bin
/gnome-keyring-daemon --daemonize --login
morfik16891 0.0 0.2 216104 5676 ?Sl 09:52 0:00 /usr/lib/at-
spi2-core/at-spi2-registryd --use-gnome-session
morfik17825 0.0 0.2 48992 4260 ?S09:53 0:00 /usr/bin
/gnome-keyring-daemon --start --foreground --components=secrets
morfik17933 0.0 0.2 48992 4268 ?S09:53 0:00 /usr/bin
/gnome-keyring-daemon --start --foreground --components=secrets

The doubled process (17933) disappears after a minute or so.

I was testing this with and without the autostart files, and it's the same in
both cases.

I think this needs to be accompanied by a note in the pid_filename

Bug#644932: RFP: ndppd -- a daemon that proxies IPv6 NDP messages

2015-10-08 Thread Jean-Michel Vourgère
Hi Daniel

I tried your NDP proxy, it works great here. Thanks a lot! :)

Are you still interested in packaging it? I'd be happy to sponsor you. :)

If you aren't, I plan to package it myself.
I saw you made a good start at
https://github.com/DanielAdolfsson/ndppd/tree/debian

I tried it and have a few suggestions, like exporting the buildflags
(source fortify), upgrading the policy standard and the copyright
format, updating the uscan...
Please ping me and I'll make a pull request.

Both addresses http://www.tuhox.com/ and
http://www.priv.nu/projects/ndppd look down.
Is there an upstream web site or is it only github now?

Bug#801273: installation-reports: CPU burnin never stops

2015-10-08 Thread Luke Dashjr
Package: installation-reports
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
Chose the CPU burnin option of the installer, and chose 10 minutes runtime.
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
Let it run the full 10 minutes.
   * What was the outcome of this action?
cpuburnP6 continued running throughout the rest of the install in the
background, not merely the timed 10 minutes.
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
I expected the timer to stop it when it was done.

Using the target's top command allowed me to kill the processes, which worked
fine and did not disrupt the rest of the install.

Bug#801275: iceweasel wakes up at 60 Hz when idle

2015-10-08 Thread sacrificial-spam-address
Package: iceweasel
Version: 41.0.1-1
Architecture: i386

This is probably a generic firefox bug, but I'm starting here to
respoect the firefox/iceweasel split.

Basicallly, when I have iceweasel idling with a lot of tabs open,
it burns 10-20% CPU doing nothing.

The desired behaviour, when there is no UI activity and all pages have
finished loading, is that it use zero. Not approximately zero, but each
and every thread blocked on a system call with no timeout. (If pressed,
I will accept long (> 1000 second) timeouts for cache discard, software
update checks, and so on.)

Upon investigation, I discovered that there is one thread that seems
to be spinning doing (blank lines added):

What I understand is that/var/lib/sbuild is the home directory of the sbuild
user.
So it seems to me right to have all files under this location readable and
writable by the sbuild user.

So myabe you are right the problem is with schroot which could lock something
not owned by root.

Nevertheless it is nice to let only the root user update the schroot.

Bug#800698: Kmail2 display garbled (after a while)

2015-10-08 Thread Tim Ruehsen
Hi Boris,

I didn't have that issue any more since a few days.

Kmail is pretty much in use each day and when I had this issue, I had it
several times a day (reboot, kdm stop/start, kmail stop/start didn't help
much).

As soon as the problem pops up again, I'll come back here.

Thanks for having a look !

With the current unstable, I cannot reproduce this. When I take
plplot_5.10.0+dfsg-1 and just apply the patch from above, the compilation
succeeds. However, the order seems different:

Scanning dependencies of target x33d
make[3]: Leaving directory '/tmp/buildd/plplot-5.10.0+dfsg/debian/build_tmp'

Did you change anything else? Or did you not apply the full patch?

yes, that's how it should be and is also done by sbuild-createchroot.

> Why sbuild which is run as root do not want to lock something which is not

The error message you saw:

E: unstable-i386-sbuild-22146117-8358-467e-a857-9e8d4c79e747: Failed to lock
chroot: /var/lib/sbuild/unstable-i386.tar.gz: File is not owned by user root

does not come from sbuild but from schroot. So if you want to know why schroot
needs it to be owned by the root user, you'd have to ask the schroot
maintainer. I do not know why.

The bug could nevertheless be in sbuild though because sbuild is the package
with the postinst maintainer script that changes the ownership. I now have to
figure out whether this chown call is actually useful or not. In the former
case, the wiki page would have to be adapted to not recommend this location.

Bug#794743: New version of ttfautohint packaging

2015-10-08 Thread gurkan

Hi Vasudev

There is new version of ttfautohint available. Do you plan to package
it

any time soon?. More of the fonts are using new version of ttfautohint
and since we are building fonts from source we need to have newer
version of ttfautohint in archive.

I have some updated versions here http://sid.ethz.ch/debian/ttfautohint/
However it doesn't look I'm going to find time to get that sponsored
somehow

soon or at the moment.

As of now lohit fonts for Indian languages maintained in Debian-IN
needs

ttfautohint.

I saw that though team maintained ttfautohint is not using team Vcs,
infact there is no package Vcs. Is it okay with you to use Git vcs of
pkg-fonts? If you are fine I can import current version in archive into
a Git repository.

Please go ahead with whatever helps you to get the updated versions
where you need

it, that's why it's team maintained after all.

Please let us know of your thoughts.

Cheers,

If you removed the autostart files, I don't see how gnome-keyring can
work properly.

Thanks for highlighting this. There are a number of other issues with this

Yes, I used -j5 most of the time. I though also tried it with -j1, no

I had to apply one more patch IIRC. I can send a full debdiff later

Thanks for the feedback, I have forwarded a link to your comment to upstream
developers (see the linked upstream bug). I hope they will look at it shortly.

If someone else can confirm that this bug is not fixed for them, feel free to

My rationale is that no-one in such teams has packaged it yet, and I am only
packaging it as a build-depend of SeqAn, which is very much a Debian Med
package.

Though I understand if the team would rather this be maintained elsewhere.

Bug#800821: some tests

2015-10-08 Thread Francesco Presel
Downgrading dolphin (to 4:15.4.3) but keeping konqueror at
4:15.08.1-1 allows to use dolphinpart again.

During the update from 4:15.4.3 (working) to 4:15.08 (broken),
dolphin was split to a separate src package and its libs were
moved to a different folder (from /usr/lib/kde4 to
/usr/lib/[ARCH]/qt5/plugins).
Maybe it's looking for the dolphinpart.so in the wrong folder?
However, just symlinking dolphinpart.so to the old path does not
work for me

Then there is indeed a bug that should be reported to the package owner,

Bug#801306: ITP: python-oset -- An ordered set data structure for Python

2015-10-08 Thread Kevin Murray
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Kevin Murray

* Package name: python-oset
  Version : 0.1.3
Upstream Author : Carlos Martin, Raymond Hettinger
* URL : https://gitorious.com/sleipnir/python-oset
* License : BSD
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : An ordered set data structure for Python

A set data structure that remembers original insertion order. The
implementation based on a doubly linked link and an internal dictionary.
This design gives OrderedSet the same big-Oh running times as regular
sets including O(1) adds, removes, and lookups as well as O(n)
iteration.

This is a dependency of sphinxcontrib-bibtex, which is required to build
seqan's documentation.

This package will be co-maintained in the Debian Med team.

Thx for the quick reply!

Yes, o.k., I'm going to fix this as non-dsa over proposed updates. I guess
a CVE request on this is not necessary, is it? Are you going to create an
entry in the security tracker, anyway?

2015-10-08 Thread Gianfranco Costamagna
Source: log4cplus
Version: 1.1.2-3
Severity: serious
Justification: completely broken lib directory

Hi, seems that the current log4cplus unconditionally installs the library
symlink in
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/liblog4cplus-1.1.so
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/liblog4cplus.a
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/liblog4cplus.la
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/liblog4cplus.so

for every architecture (including non x86_64*)

I guess this breaks the linker

Thanks, Philipp, I've just pushed a release with this patch.

format-patch would have helped getting proper authoring info to be

Bug#801296: lintian: broken utf8 output with lintian 2.5.38~bpo8+1 from jessie-backports

2015-10-08 Thread Michael Prokop

With lintian 2.5.30+deb8u4 from jessie as well as with lintian

everything is fine:

N:a valid copyright notice is the best way to do that. Examples:
N:

N: Copr. - Firstname Lastname

With lintian 2.5.38~bpo8+1 from jessie-backports the last "Firstname
Lastname" line has a broken encoding for the copyright character:

% lintian --info foo.changes | grep -A13 copyright-without-copyright-notice
W: foo: copyright-without-copyright-notice
N:
N:The copyright file for this package does not appear to contain a

I'll probably do another approach: after people here have tested, I'll

I have actually already created a tracker entry, see
https://security-tracker.debian.org/756432 . For the CVE request: not
absolutely necessary but helps identifying it across various security
trackers. Do you want to request a CVE on your own? This needs to be
done on the oss-security mailinglist:

Bug#801308: umbrello: Can't save to file - "UMLDoc::saveDocument moving with error"

2015-10-08 Thread Grégory DAVID
Package: umbrello
Version: 4:15.08.1-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
After starting the application umbrello, even if there's or not some content in
the diagram, saving file shows up a dialog box saying: "There was a problem
saving file: /path/to/the/file/to/be/saved

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
Starting umbrello in CLI to see log messages and see the error as:
   klauncher not running... launching kdeinit
   klauncher not running... launching kdeinit
   klauncher not running... launching kdeinit
couldn't create slave: "Cannot talk to klauncher: The name
org.kde.klauncher5 was not provided by any .service files"
   umbrello: UMLDoc::saveDocument moving with error =  "/tmp/umbrello.X20558"
to QUrl( "file:///home/groolot/file.xmi" )

But fortunatly, the temporary file "/tmp/umbrello.X20558" exists and contain
the appropriate content as created inside umbrello.
I then suspect a problem in the 'moving' action inside the program, from
temporary file to saved file.

   * What was the outcome of this action?
Not saving the file.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
The file to be saved in the right place.

With this option it works even over tor. After successful update it
works in any way. But after restarting without --setting option it
was updated from 5.0 to 5.0.3 again. Eventually it works.

Looks like this was done in response to
https://launchpad.net/bugs/573391 in Ubuntu, and Debian merged that
change.

But since
http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-net-snmp/pkg-net-snmp.git/commit/debian/snmpd.postinst?id=d96adf57b662ca601f9c4deb0a7a43e679272fcb
deluser isn't even called any more. So I don't think the killall is
necessary anymore anyway, but I'd like someone to review this.

Bug#801298: nvidia-alternative: prevents nouveau driver from loading

2015-10-08 Thread Lars Noschinski
Package: nvidia-alternative
Version: 340.93-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

after yesterdays updates, todays reboot lead to a system without usable
video setup. After some experiments, it turned out that this was due to
the nouveau driver not being loaded automatically (the binary nvidia
driver is and was never installed).

Removing nvidia-alternative (and the package nvidia-opencl-icd
depending on it) fixed this problem.

I did not explicitly install any nvidia- or opencl-related packages, it
seems they were pulled in recursively by libhwloc.

To prevent misunderstandings: nvidia-alternative was also installed
before. I would guess that the last (successful) reboot was with
340.76-5, although 340.93-1 was installed in between.

Hi, I sponsored the debdiff (with a change from UNRELEASED to unstable)
to delayed/2.

let me know if I need to delay it any longer, or cancel it.

BTW I would appreciate a take over of the project, an update to the
latest release and some refactoring of the packaging.

cheers,

Gianfranco

Bug#801303: libc++: FTBFS on arm64, needs llvm-3.7

2015-10-08 Thread Edmund Grimley Evans
Source: libc++
Version: 3.7.0-1

It failed to build on arm64:

https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=libc%2B%2B=sid

The error was a segmentation fault in 'Greedy Register Allocator'.

There are similar reports elsewhere, such as bug #796343:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=796343

It seems that arm64 needs llvm-3.7.
