Bug#809988: sendmail: Missing /var/spool/mqueue/DB_CONFIG file causing "stat=Deferred: No such file or directory"

2016-01-05 Thread David Caldwell
Package: sendmail
Version: 8.15.2-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

Today I booted and sendmail was deferring all locally delivered mail. I had
a bunch of lines in my log like this:

Jan 4 23:43:57 mymachine sendmail[13613]: u048N14w019302:
to=, delay=23:20:52, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=cyrusv2,
pri=5394363418, relay=localhost, dsn=4.3.5, stat=Deferred: No such file or
directory

I straced the process to see what it might not be liking and found these
ENOENT lines:

   stat("./xfu048N14w019302", 0x7ffe789e33e0) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or
directory)
unlink("./xfu048N14w019302")= -1 ENOENT (No such file or
directory)
   open("DB_CONFIG", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or
directory)

On a whim I did `touch /var/spool/mqueue/DB_CONFIG` and suddenly all my mail
got delivered.

This seems like a bug. Should this file be required to exist? If so, why
wasn't it there? What does it do?

-David

Bug#809989: vlc crashes at startup because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "xcb"

2016-01-05 Thread Jens Kubieziel
Package: vlc
Version: 2.2.1-5+b1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I upgraded vlc to latest version in Debian sid. When I try to start it, I get
the message:

Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface.
This application failed to start because it could not find or load the
Qt platform plugin "xcb".

Available platform plugins are: linuxfb, minimal, minimalegl, offscreen.

Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

I tried to 'aptitude reinstall vlc', but the above output stayed the same.
Below you'll find the output of 'vlc -vvv':

Right, that's a good point.

An easier way here seems to be to either ask dpkg what architecture
pkg-config has (dpkg -s pkg-config | awk '$1 == "Architecture:" { print
$2 }') or teach pkg-config to report its own architecture. The latter
is a bit more work, but quite doable, the former seems quite easy, and I
think, pretty robust?

Yes, a very good observation. The bug was on testing indeed, but I reported
it after successfully running the dist-upgrade. Checking apt/history.log
showed that the problem was with 1.1.3 as suspected, but when reporting, apt
was at 1.1.5 already:

Upgrade: [...] apt:amd64 (1.1.3, 1.1.5), [...]

So this bug report can probably be closed for good, if the problem was fixed
in 1.1.4.

Daniel

Bug#805605: xserver-xorg-core: crash/freeze on logout of tty that was previously serving as a vt for X

2016-01-05 Thread Justus Piater
I believe I am seeing the same bug (similar symptoms, similar X
backtrace).  It is triggered simply by logging out on some other VT;
multiple X servers are not required. To reproduce on a freshly-booted
machine:

- log in (on VT1)
- startx
- switch to VT2
- log out

At this point, instead of leaving me on VT2 with a login prompt, it
automatically switches back to VT1, which is stuck as Brian describes.

Brian, can you reproduce this? If so, I suggest changing the bug title
to something like:

xserver-xorg-core: crash/freeze on logout on another vt

There appears to be some non-determinism:

- Sometimes the VT1 terminal still shows the mouse pointer (on the
otherwise empty i3 desktop); sometimes not. (On attempting to switch
to a different VT, the mouse pointer, if still present, always
  disappears.)

- During my many trials, in a single case, logging out on VT2 worked as
expected, except that screen brightness was very low.

I'm using an up-to-date Stretch, with rootless X and no display manager,
using the i915 GPU driver (like Brian apparently, but with a different
Intel graphics controller, "00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]:
Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller
[8086:0046] (rev 02)").

Bug#809990: RM: moarvm [mipsel] -- ROM; mipsel is not supported upstream

2016-01-05 Thread Dominique Dumont

Severity: normal

That's a followup of #789187. We were lucky to have moarvm 2015.06
working on mipsel. But moarvm 2015.11 does not compile on mipsel.

I'll reconsider mipsel if things improve upstream. Right now I've more
pressing issues to update and get rakudo in testing.

Yeah, we actually want to force -multrasparc as v7 is too old for many

Bug#809991: clang-3.5: should not depend on GCC libobjc

2016-01-05 Thread Niels Grewe
Package: clang-3.5
Severity: wishlist

Dear LLVM packaging team,

currently the clang packages in Debian depend on the dev package of the
Objective-C
runtime library that ships with GCC (libobjc-4.9-dev in jessie). I'd like to
suggest
dropping Depends in favour of a Recommends so that it can be removed without
breaking the package. There are a few legitimate reasons to do that. The most
basic one
is that you just want to use clang and a C/C++ compiler and don't desire the
ability
to compile Objective-C code. The other one, and the main reason why I am
proposing this,
is that to make use of all the Objective-C features that clang provides
(non-fragile ABI,
automatic reference counting), you will have to use the GNUstep runtime [0]
that is not
currently packaged in Debian. Depending on the GCC runtime makes using the
alternative
runtime unnecessary hard because you have to worry about the linker picking the
right
runtime library.

I realise that per the policy manual you could be argued that libobjc is
'required [...]
to provide a significant amount of functionality' (namely Objective-C support),
but not
installing it does not break clang as a C and C++ compiler at all. Also, C and
C++ have
far more widespread use compared to Objective-C, so a fortiori the 'found
together [...]
in all but unusual installations' description of Recommends would also apply.
In any case,
recommending the Objective-C runtime instead of depending on it would not
change anything
for users unless they take explicit action to remove the package.

Please let me know what you think.

Many thanks,

Niels

Sorry that this fell off the radar.

2016-01-05 Thread Mart van de Wege
Package: rpcbind
Version: 0.2.3-0.2
Followup-For: Bug #805167

Can I add that the problem also exists on my machine, with nfs-common and
autofs as the
dependent services?

My home directories are automounted from an NFS server, but lately I have to
manually
restart rpcbind and nfs-common before my NFS client finally connects. Reading
the
output of systemctl status nfs-common shows that nfs-common fails to correctly
start
because rpcbind isn't running, and just restarting nfs-common does nothing for
rpcbind.

Thanks for the review.

I'm fine with backporting the fix; matter of fact, I was preparing an email to
the security team with the debdiff so the backport is ready.

Now how do I know about the release managers being OK for inclusion ?

Kind regards,

Their? I maintain python-pygithub. And I already filled RFS on that

Hm, tricky situation. The only dependency of python-pygithub (old name)
beside cligh is jeepyb, which is only in sid.

As far as I can tell, it's maintainer is DD (@debian email). So probably
he can change his package and sponsor renamed `python-pygithub` at same
time. WDYT?

If you already have something in your git tree, it would be great to
push it to git, pending the next release. It would allow me to compile
my own version more easily (git clone vs git clone + grab the patch, put
it in debian/patches, update debian/series, etc).

This issue is marked "no-dsa" in the security tracker[1] (because it is
mitigated by the use of fs.protected_symlinks).

It could, however, possibly be included into stable via
stable-proposed-updated, if both:

  - the maintainer is OK to backport the relevant fix against the
version currently in stable

  - release managers are OK to include it in the next SPU

I've been thinking of making the default for c-a-t-t to limit output

This is correct, you obviously need to install the relevant

Jakub explained this. I plan to have some sort of verbosity level
thing in c-a-t-t, less verbosity would turn off --check-compatibility
for this check I guess.

The upstream metadata stuff has nothing to do with science apart from

Upstream Author : Jean-Tiare Le Bigot
* URL : https://github.com/yadutaf/ctop
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : Command line / text based Linux Containers monitoring tool

ctop will help you see what's going on at the container level.
Basically, containers are a logical group of processes isolated using
kernel's cgroups and namespaces. Recently, they have been made popular
by Docker and they are also heavily used under the hood by systemd and a
load of container tools like lxc, rocket, lmctfy and many others.
 .
Under the hood, ctop will collect all metrics it can from cgroups in
realtime and render them to instantly give you an overview of the global
 system health.
 .
It currently collects metrics related to cpu, memory and block IO usage
as well as metadata such as owning user (mostly for systemd based
containers), uptime and attempts to guess the container managing
 technology behind.

For me, in Debian Testing, the message is:

W: Can't drop privileges for downloading as file
'/var/cache/apt/archives/partial/PACKAGE' couldn't be accessed by user
'_apt'. - pkgAcquire::Run (13: Permission denied)

This IS a bug for, at least, two reasons:

(1) The Synaptic user encounters such an unhelpful message after the
download is complete;

(2) The message is not only unhelpful but also meaningless TO THE END
USER because there's no '/var/cache/apt/archives/partial/PACKAGE' when
the download in complete.

We discussed this package today, and Debian Med will take it under their wings,
either directly or maintained under the Perl team umbrella. In any case,
it will soon get a working maintainer address. Because of this, I lower the
severity to important, to allow the fixed package to migrate into testing.

The rest of the packages maintained by this maintainer are being handled too.

Dear avahi maintainers:

This package currently uses "ChangeLog" as the upstream changelog.

There are two problems with that:

Bug#810016: Roxterm does not allow to set the background color anymore

2016-01-05 Thread Douglas A. Augusto
Package: roxterm
Version: 3.3.1-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

Since I've upgraded to roxterm version 3.3.1 (from 2.9.5), I can't anymore set
the background color. It seems to simply ignore the value of the background
color variable in the color scheme file (background=#...). Also, trying to set
it using the menus doesn't work as well (Preferences/Edit Current Colour
Scheme/Background colour).

Bug#809623: RFS: telegram-purple/1.2.3-1

2016-01-05 Thread Ben Wiederhake

- flawfinder yields too many results to be practical (~ 2460 lines). This is
mostly due to libtgl being written in a style that uses static arrays for
everything, including parsing and output.

I've been thinking of making the default for c-a-t-t to limit output
of checks by default, probably to around 10 lines.

Sounds good!

- The output of "POFileSpell" seems to depend on the local dictionaries. It
seems to flag every word in every language I don't speak. (~ 1640 lines)

This is correct, you obviously need to install the relevant
dictionaries for it to be useful.

How about an option that changes the following:
- Current: thousands of warning for French, because the French dict is
missing.
- Suggested: single warning, saying "French dictionary not found
(expected at /usr/share/some/where)"

But I guess this should be reported against POFileSpell, not c-a-t-t, right?

- "suspicious-source" works like a charm. It runs in a fraction of a second,
and outputs only a single line: "./tg-server.tglpub"
That's absolutely correct! I like that program. (I'm not complaining, I'm
admiring the program. The file ./tg-server.tglpub is clearly documented in
the README.md, including a link to a side-project with the sole purpose of
reproducibly generating this single file for public sources.)

Hmm, are you sure?

pabs@chianamo ~/telegram-purple-1.2.3 $ grep tglpub README.md
pabs@chianamo ~/telegram-purple-1.2.3 $

*head-desk*

It looks like I wrote the documentation while tired.

$ grep tlgpub README.md
We no longer ship `tg-server.pub` (old format), but instead
   `tg-server.tlgpub` (new format). [snip]

Obviously, the spelling "tlg" is wrong, and should be "tgl". All files
are named correctly. This will be fixed in the next upstream release.

After reading the source code I see that it is some sort of public key.

It is, basing on Telegram's public key. (Has to be requested by mail.
Don't ask me why they had that idiotic idea.)
The tglpub file-format is easy enough to be written with nothing but a
hexeditor; is clearly explained (just three big endian integers); comes
along with a program that demonstrates how to generate the tglpub given
the original pubfile.

In case you wonder why we don't just read the original pubkey:
proprietary file format, and wanted to avoid using a function that
smells like OpenSSL.

- The "Please add some upstream metadata" warning triggers. Since this is
not a scientific project, and there won't be any doi-references, I'm going
to ignore the warning. However, I'm going to use this to ask: Why is that a
warning? Why not include it in the build scripts of the deb-science
packaging team instead?

The upstream metadata stuff has nothing to do with science apart from
being initiated by the science team. Just include the parts that apply
to this package. I don't understand why so many people have this
misconception.

Because it's the first and only thing at which I looked when opening the
page for the first few times. Now I finally actually read it (oh god,
sorry dear author of the page). I included it into 1.2.4-2. (See
separate mail.)

- The problem of bashisms relates to the program checkbashism, like
incompatibilities between make-implementations to checkgmakeism, a program
I'd like to see being written. I made up the name. I have no idea how to do
that. So far, we did it by trial and error, and change something whenever a
user complains. AFAIK, by now we only support gmake, due to the use of
"ifdef", which should be ".ifdef" in bsd-make:
https://github.com/majn/telegram-purple/issues/137#issuecomment-167970054

That would be a good check to have but for now I don't know of any
implementation or anyone interested in working on such a thing.

Sure, no pressure, just wanted to mention it, in case a
Make-compatibility-guru reads along :P

Sorry for the wall of text, but you *did* ask for it :P

One goal of c-a-t-t is to expose more people to the tools, eventually
leading to better tools :)

I wasn't even remotely aware of the sheer flood of such tools, each of
them doing different things, and then there's sanity check so basic that
you didn't even need a "tool" for that and just used grep/find/etc.
Thank you for the program, the work, the feedback :D

Bug#802306: packagekitd eating up RAM

I’m tempted to suggest raising the severity of this bug. It has
become unbearable, the insane memory usage of packagekitd causes
processes to be randomly killed, compilations to fail, X to hang in
inconsistent states (the mouse loses its ability to focus windows),
several of our machines regularly become unusable for several minutes
due to this apparent leak. Sometimes it’s faster to reboot the machine
than to wait for it to become responsible again.

Just as I am writing this, packagekitd is using 1.8 GiB (RSS). /proc
indicates that most of it is heap memory. This really feels like a
serious bug to me.

The commit above does that:
+and rebuild the initrd with "update-initramfs -u".

The reason why the symlink failed in vmdebootstrap was precisely
because the initramfs had not been rebuilt.

Bug#810018: procps: Please (re)consider shipping procps pidof

2016-01-05 Thread Andreas Henriksson
Package: procps
Version: 2:3.3.11-3
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch

Dear Maintainer,

I've seen that you're in the past considered and discussed shipping
the procps version of pidof at
https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2013/12/msg00145.html

I'm filing this bug because I think the previous reasons against
this no longer apply.

c.f.
"[...] moving pidof around certainly doesn't kill off sysvinit-utils for
us (there are still over a dozen other tools in that package in
Debian)."

The sysvinit-utils package has gone through a heavy diet and now
ships alot less tools (in favour of shipping them from other maintained
upstreams, notably util-linux).

I'm generally interested in shrinking the essential set, but users of
pidof seems to be too many to reasonably introduce dependencies for.

The currently remaining tools in sysvinit-utils (in stretch/sid):
pidof - suggestion to ship it from (new essential) procps(-base)
service - might soon be in init-system-helpers (see #805487).
killall5 - analysis of the 19 matches on codesearch seems to boil down
to: openrc, util-vserver. Adding dependencies seems doable.
fstab-decode - codesearch analysis indicates open-iscsi, drbl.
Adding dependencies seems doable.

Summary: making sysvinit-utils non-essential seems doable.

This would also make sysvinit-utils dependencies transitively
non-essential. eg. startpar. (Not sure why that dependency
exists to start with, but proposed approach seemed simpler
than researching that for the same result.)
Please also note that sysvinit-utils already have some
reverse dependencies despite being essential which works
in our favour.

I'm attaching a patch for your convenience. Please note that a
synchronized sysvinit upload is needed. If you think we should
proceed I'll volunteer to NMU sysvinit for this.
When doing so you'll need to update the attached patch
with the version number of the sysvinit upload and the Closes
bug number in the debian/changelog.
An announcement on debian-devel about introducing a new essential
package is also needed.

Regards,
Andreas Henriksson

I see this error message on my Linkstation boxes for long time, but
most of time they just boot fine.
After seeing your report, now I understand the root cause why failing
sometimes. :-)

> -U-Boot-Kernel-Address: 0x8000

I tried this on local db (/etc/flash-kernel/db) of my Linkstation, but
it failed to boot.
Except above change, did you also changed the address in uboot
command? (like a few lines below)

>> cp.b 0xff20 0x80 0x3f

>Entry Point: 8000

I also don't understand where the address "0040" comes from. It's
neither in flash-kernel's db nor in uboot setting.
>From my understanding, the kernel image stores in flash, which address
is 0xff00, and it will be copied to "8000" by uboot on boot
time, then kernel will uncompress the image and then boot. Am I missed
something?

What I intend to do is following your QNAP's way to fix things on Linkstation.
Any clue would be appreciated. Thank you!

Roger

umh.
I personally wouldn't install the readme as a changelog, but if you
really want to, please use dh_installchangelog instead (which compress
it, as per policy):

override_dh_installchangelogs:

to fit both of the tastes maybe to use the -k flag of it?

Cool, thanks for the heads-up.

Bug#802306: packagekitd eating up RAM

On Tue, Jan 05, 2016, Matthias Klumpp wrote:
> Hmm, are you doing anything special with PK which could trigger this

No, I’m afraid that’s the strange thing, I don’t do anything
with PK. I run a GNOME desktop but have never launched software or
performed any action related to packagekitd as far as I can tell. I
only install stuff through apt-get. I do have /usr/bin/gnome-software
running, which seems to be related to PK, but I suppose it comes with
modern GNOME.

I do have a large sources.list, though not insanely so (see attachment).

strace()ing the PK process shows that it constantly checks for the
existence of /system-update and /var/lib/PackageKit/prepared-update. The
comment in pk_offline_auth_invalidate() suggests that this should be a
rare occurrence, yet it happens every second (I could misunderstand the
code; it’s my first time having a look at it).

It’s pretty hard to troubleshoot anything because the box is
currently quite unresponsive, but I can try to come up with more
information if it can help.

> PK itself should terminate after idling for a while, freeing any

Well, it’d be nice if it released those gigabytes of RAM, sure, but
I’d be even happier if it actually didn’t need several gigabytes of
RAM in order to work :-)

A happy new year to you as well!

I'd say your changes look exactly like what I had in mind. I was
briefly unsure if the rm_conffile invocations should additionally be
conditioned on unchangedness of /etc/init.d/kbd to serve even the
unlikely minority of people who have modified the initscript, but not
the configuration in /etc/kbd. But since the default configuration in
that directory is very minimal and the initscript deals gracefully with
its nonexistence, the way you've done it is probably ideal. The
announcement in NEWS is also a good idea.

Thank you for your work once again! I hope I'm not missing anything,
but it looks ready for an upload to me.

Cheers,
Michael

it using the menus doesn't work as well (Preferences/Edit Current Colour

If the "Get text and background colours from palette" option is checked
in the colour scheme the text and background colour widgets are disabled
and the colours are taken from the first and last widgets in the upper
palette row. It seems that this option is stuck on, so I need to fix
that. And it's really hard to see that the colour widgets are faded in
the default theme so I suppose I'd better make it fade the labels too.

My suggestion is - exactly as suggested above - to a) drop the font

I understand this bug is very old, but it's still actual nevertheless.

So I have prepared a patch that makes the behavior specified by Sune the
default. If you think it will break compatibility, I can prepare another
patch that will implement it as an option. (However I hope that won't be
needed, as I can't imagine a situation where one will rely on the old
behavior).

Hi Frederic,

Fabio Pirola also expressed its interest in packaging SBT two days ago
[1], you could probably get in touch and cooperate on this task.

The "easiest" solution is probably to start with a non-free sbt package
containing a prebuilt version of sbt, and then upload in main a sbt
package depending on itself with the prebuilt sbt removed. I would use
only one sbt package, instead of sbt-bootstrap in non-free and sbt in main.

There is not. It's on my plans, but I'm not there yet. Given the
upstream plans for LTS support¹, I would probably go directly to 2.0.

Any help will be appreciated, specially in getting the new components
into Debian. I would start by just trying the source packages currently
in Ubuntu.

Bug#138409: dpkg-dev: please add support for .buildinfo files

2016-01-05 Thread Jérémy Bobbio
Control: retitle -1 dpkg-dev: please add support for .buildinfo files
Control: tag -1 + patch

Hi!

The attached patch will enable dpkg-buildpackage to create .buildinfo
files as specified on the Debian wiki [1]. They have two main purposes:

 * recording information about the system environment used during a
particular build—versions of the build dependencies installed, system
   architecture, etc. for easier forensics/debugging;
 * describe how to recreate (partially or in full) the original
environment when trying to reproduce a particular build.

Since Guillem's preliminary review in February 2015 [2], the
specification has slightly elvolved to be a bit more relaxed and the
code have been improved.

One of the main change is that `.buildinfo` should now be named with an
arbitrary identifier. By default this defaults to $HOSTNAME-$TIMESTAMP
but can be set to an arbitrary value by the `--buildinfo-identifier`
command line flag.

To address privacy concerns, the Build-Path field is now only included
when either the build path starts by `/build/` or
`--always-include-path` has been specified on the command line of
`dpkg-genbuildinfo`.

.buildinfo files are now accepted (although discarded) by the Debian
archive [3]. This change should thus not affect Debian developpers in
their daily work.

Subject: [PATCH] Add support for .buildinfo files

.buildinfo files are a new type of control files, similar to .changes
files, meant to describe the environment of a build and its products.
They are meant to be added to the Debian archive to allow independent
parties to reproduce a build and verify the result.

Specifications for .buildinfo are available at:
https://wiki.debian.org/ReproducibleBuilds/BuildinfoSpecification

This patch adds support for .buildinfo files in Dpkg::Control and
adds a new script, dpkg-genbuildinfo, that will now be called by
dpkg-buildpackage before generating the .changes file.

sure? I mean, 662411 says one should build-depend on _libpng-dev_.

As said in this bug this didn't work back then, and now in libpng16-dev
libpng-dev isn't provided afaics (thankfully) so the bug should say
build-depend on libpng16-dev?

Which means I need to wait for the other packages to change first:

Hi,

I have updated libcec-platform which is a transitive build-dependency
of kodi-pvr-hts and now kodi-pvr-hts builds fine on mipsel.

Please trigger a rebuild to have official builds for the package.

 gb kodi-pvr-hts . mips mipsel mips64el

Thanks,

PS: Is there any automatism to try building packages with updated
transitive build-dependencies?

Bug#809176: vlc: Should depend upon libqt5xcbqpa5

2016-01-05 Thread Lisandro Damián Nicanor Pérez Meyer
retitle 809176 Merge platforms plugins into libqt5gui5
thanks

With the team we decided to merge the plugins with libqt5gui5 for the time
being.

This means that installing libqt5gui5 will need more dependencies. We summed
up to be around ~3MiB in libs.

If at some point we are requested to split the plugins due to size issues
(specially if the footprint somehow becomes ~10MiB) then I'm afraid that
packages will start to need to depend/recommend the necessary plugins.

Kinds regards, Lisandro.

Bug#798408: Bug#797816: openscad FTBFS in armhf due to conflict declaration of headers gl3.h and glew.h

2016-01-05 Thread Lisandro Damián Nicanor Pérez Meyer
I'm tempted to remove libqt5gui5 from the list of packages that hold this bug.
It is not a bug at all from our side, arm* uses GLES (except arm64 for now)
and GLU is not ported to it.

If at some point glu gets ported to GLES and the bug still exists then we
might have a bug.

I think that's the best way to go forward. It might be considered a bug now
with Qt 5.5, but it will not with 5.6... at least for now :-/

Bug#810014: hid-generic: collection stack overflow / parsing failed

Dear maintainers,

I have a new Eaton 5P UPS connected by USB to my computer, which allows
me to use NUT.

It is not blocking at all, but while usbhid-ups driver is not started, I
get repeated error messages in the console and in dmesg (approximately
every minute):

On another computer configured exactly the same way, the last "usb" line
does not appear.

I also installed linux-image-4.3.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 but the result is the
same.

It already happened in 2012 with an Eaton 5PX, which I believe is very
similar to my Eaton 5P (see
http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/nut-upsdev/2012-December/006344.html):
here also it does not seems to be harmfull.

Bug#810015: pnp4nagios-web: jquery in status-header.ssi fails to display graph popups

2016-01-05 Thread SaturnNiGHTS
Package: pnp4nagios-web
Version: 0.6.24+dfsg1-4

hello all.

i have been a bit tardy in observing this breakage, but it appears that
graph popups no longer appear when the mouse cursor is hovered over the
"extra service actions" in at least nagios3.

checking a browser's developer console, the error "TypeError: $.browser
is undefined" is generated when hovering over the actions.

$.browser has been deprecated for a period of time in jquery's 1.x
branch, and has finally been removed in 1.9.x. [the version of jquery
that is within the pnp4nagios-web package appears to be 1.11.3.

an interim measure is to insert a line like the following, after the
other jquery-*.js includes within status-header.ssi:

http://code.jquery.com/jquery-migrate-1.2.1.js";>

this file restores deprecated APIs, and warns about their usage within
a developer console.  it does not have to be linked externally...it can
be saved alongside the rest of pnp4nagios-web's jquery scripts, then
included relatively.

this is only a mitigation of an issue within jquery.cluetip.js.
upstream is no longer maintained for that script, and it depends on
the use of $.browser.  until pnp4nagios-web no longer makes use of
jquery.cluetip.js, the jquery-migrate script will probably have to be
used.

i understand that the status-header.ssi file is categorized as an
"example", but at this time, it isn't a working example.

Can you try building replacement debian packages to test? You should

The keypad decimal bug is not affected by this, so it should go in

Also try other text fields from gnome-terminal, roxterm and/or other

So it works now and the "real" switch then will be later...

Let's see whether it works in sid (and more importantly on experimental buildds)
this time :)

Hi Anthony,

Maybe we can just upload to jessie instead of jessie-backports so that
jessie only users can also get the fix. Or do you think jessie-backports
is good enough?

I had to install itstool and po4a. The resulting package had no keyboard
shortcuts.

The new roxterm executable was the same size as the official one, though
the MD5 sum was different. The locally-compiled (outside debuild) file was
43% larger.

To sum it up:

xev:.
xfce4-terminal: . (GTK+2, libvte 0.28)
gnome-terminal: ,
roxterm 3.3.1: , (libvte 0.42)

Unless you suggest something else, I suppose I shall open a new ticket
in libgtk-3-0.

Is it worth mentioning that changes to interface rules in

/etc/udev/rules.d need update-initramfs -u?

Fix spelling in comments or disabled and not-installed tests? Are you sure?

I added Provides: field. Probably, I should open bug aganist jeepyb after
upload.

Bug#810007: Please consider suds-jurko in light of Fedora doing the same

2016-01-05 Thread Christian Hofstaedtler
Package: python-suds
Priority: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

Fedora may consider replacing their suds package with the suds-jurko
fork [1].

Please consider if this would be a good thing for Debian, too
(reducing cross-distro issues).

[1] https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Suds_Jurko_Fork

Thank you,
Christian

Thanks, merged. I guess showing the description in the modal

FTR, I tweaked the descriptions to keep them short and generic.
We can always override them in something more specific if we really
want for tracker.debian.org...

Bug#605090:

2016-01-05 Thread HacKurx
Hi,

Add and use "paxctld" in Debian for configure PaX flags (equivalent to
paxd from arch linux):
https://grsecurity.net/download.php

And if you want inspiration for the making available of all:
https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/community.git/tree/trunk?h=packages/grsec-common

And one you know:
https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/community.git/tree/trunk?h=packages/paxd

For nvidia :
https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/PKGBUILD?h=nvidia-grsec

and to test the set:

Bug#810009: gcc-5 misscompiles ARM thumb code

2016-01-05 Thread Sebastian Andrzej Siewior
Package: gcc-5
Version: 5.2.1-13
Severity: important
Tags: upstream
Forwarded: https://gcc.gnu.org/PR69124

Clamav (and now tomsfastmath) miscompiles on armhf since the switch to
gcc-5. I forwarded a testcase to gcc bugzilla.
We have a workaround where we use -O1 in the affected file so it is not
a tragedy :) It seems also that using -mtune=cortex-a9 for instance
avoids thumb code and the bug does not trigger.
This bug report here is to simply make the maintainer aware of the issue
and track the bug. I will open the report once there are news in
bugzilla.

Bug#791944: udev: shutdown hangs because of missing swapoff

2016-01-05 Thread Peter Rajnoha
> `dmsetup udevcookies` lists no cookies. Adding `dmsetup
> udevcomplete_all` before `dmsetup remove` doesn't help.

Well, if dmsetup remove is waiting on a cookie as the log displays,
"dmsetup udevcookies" should display it (otherwise the dmsetup
remove wouldn't hang).

You need to call dmsetup udevcookies *after* the hang happens

A call to "dmsetup udevcomplete_all" *after* the hang would
release it, but the standard way is for "dmsetup udevcomplete "
to be called from within udev rule for the udev event
that gets generated (in this case as a result of REMOVE task).

Let's check the udev debug log then - it should contain something
like "starting ... udevcomplete " and "... udevcomplete
 completed".

To switch udev into debug mode, call "udevadm control --log-priority debug"
before deactivation of the device (the REMOVE task). The log should
go into syslog or so (for systemd, it's in the journal).

Bug#804564: doxia: FTBFS: Cannot locate avalon-framework

2016-01-05 Thread Emmanuel Bourg
Control: reassign -1 fop 1:2.0+dfsg-3
Control: severity -1 important

doxia-sitetools is affected by the same issue.

This was caused by the fop/1:2.0+dfsg-3 upload, its Maven pom has a
dependency on avalon-framework:avalon-framework-api but Avalon in Debian
is installed as org.apache.avalon.framework:avalon-framework-api. It's a
regression since fop in Jessie depends on
org.apache.avalon.framework:avalon-framework-api.
