To have a buster-pu bug as well, cloning this one accordingly, and
hope I got all metadata correct.

Bug#962862: debci: XSS in web interface

2020-06-23 Thread Raphael Hertzog
Hi,

On Mon, 15 Jun 2020, Sebastien Delafond wrote:
> See for instance the following URL:

The issue is present in multiple parameters and even in the URL itself:

XSS Param URL:
https://ci.debian.net/user/debci%3Cvideo%3E%3Csource%20onerror=%22javascript:prompt(9401)%22%3E/jobs

XSS Param package:
https://ci.debian.net/user/nobody/jobs?arch[]=amd64&package=bamtools%27%22()%26%25%3Cxx%3E%3CScRiPt%3Ealert(9904)%3C/ScRiPt%3E&suite[]=kali-dev

XSS Param trigger:
https://ci.debian.net/user/debci/jobs?arch[]=amd64&package=20&suite[]=kali-dev&trigger=1%27%22()%26%25%3Cxxx%3E%3CScRiPt%3Eprompt(9829)%3C/ScRiPt%3E

Is there any chance that you could fix this in the near future?

The issues are not critical but ignoring them doesn't give a good image of
us. (And what if this could be exploited to trigger a test run with
some evil parameters...)

Bug#963590: RFP: nushell -- a new type of shell

2020-06-23 Thread Nicholas Guriev
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA512

* Package name: nushell
  Version : 0.15.0
  Upstream Author : Jonathan Turner, Andrés N. Robalino, Yehuda Katz, and others
* URL : https://www.nushell.sh/
* License : Expat (known as MIT)
  Programming Lang: Rust
  Description : a new type of shell

The goal of this project is to take the Unix philosophy of shells, where pipes
connect simple commands together, and bring it to the modern style of
development.

Nushell draws inspiration from projects like PowerShell, functional programming
languages, and modern CLI tools. Rather than thinking of files and services as
raw streams of text, Nushell looks at each input as something with structure.
For example, when you list the contents of a directory, what you get back is a
table of rows, where each row represents an item in that directory. These
values can be piped through a series of steps, in a series of commands called a
‘pipeline’.

I believe to have Nushell (or simply Nu) in Debian would be good idea. It will
promote a wider spread of the app.

Michael,

you did the last update of this package. The bug is blocking testing
migration of python-biopython which creates regularly a lot of noise.
Could you confirm that you are working on this or do you need help?

Bug#963583: sysdig: sysdig segfaults on start

2020-06-23 Thread Dima Kogan
Package: sysdig
Version: 0.26.7-2
Severity: grave

Hi. sysdig used to work, but now it doesn't. I'm running Debian/sid, so
probably something about my set of dependencies doesn't agree with
sysdig, but we should figure out what that is.

Earlier today I was seeing a segfault when running some older sysdig
package I had installed. I just upgraded sysdig and sysdig-dkms to the
latest version available:

  $ dpkg -l 'sysdig*'

  ii  sysdig 0.26.7-2 amd64 ...
  ii  sysdig-dkms0.26.7-2 all   ...

And then I got this:

  $ sudo sysdig ...
  sysdig: symbol lookup error: sysdig: undefined symbol:
_ZN9grpc_impl23CreateCustomChannelImplERKNSt7__cxx1112basic_stringIcSt11char_traitsIcESaIcEEERKSt10shared_ptrINS_18ChannelCredentialsEERKNS_16ChannelArgumentsE

This sounds like #955279, but even if it is, there should be a
Conflicts, or something, to prevent me from getting into that state. In
any case, I just

  $ sudo apt install libgrpc++-dev

and also upgraded everything that sysdig explicitly depends on, except libc6.

And now it segfaults again:

  $ sudo sysdig
  zsh: segmentation fault  sudo sysdig

The backtrace looks like this:

  #0  0x5575c7cdd210 in sinsp_parser::reset (this=0x5575c8474ac0,
evt=0x5575c8454ce0) at ./userspace/libsinsp/parsers.cpp:717

  #5  0x5575c7bf1fcc in main (argc=, argv=0x7ffd28e5b788) at
./userspace/sysdig/sysdig.cpp:1694

This is inside the sysdig binary itself. No obvious cause. We're doing
this:

 0x5575c7cdd208 <+920>:   callq  0x5575c7c2dd20

 0x5575c7cdd20d <+925>:   mov(%rax),%rax
  => 0x5575c7cdd210 <+928>:   mov(%rax),%rax
 0x5575c7cdd213 <+931>:   test   %rax,%rax
 0x5575c7cdd216 <+934>:   jns0x5575c7cdd220

$rax isn't too crazy-looking, but we can't reference it:

  (gdb) p /x $rax
  $3 = 0x7f3406bcb6ba

  (gdb) x /32xb $rax
  0x7f3406bcb6ba: Cannot access memory at address 0x7f3406bcb6ba

I don't know if $rip is AT the offending instruction of the instruction
right after the offending instruction. So not entirely sure if rax is
parinfo or parinfo->m_val. Anyway...

Notes:

1. I upgraded everything sysdig Depends: on except libc6. Upgrading that
   would force me to upgrade my python, and that makes me touch stuff
   I'd rather not touch right now

2. I have gcc-10 installed, so that's where the libgcc... and
   libstdc++... are coming from

Is this enough info?

Bug#963588: RFP: gnome-fractal -- Matrix group messaging app

  Description : Matrix group messaging app

Fractal is an instant messaging client and collaboration software for
the GNOME desktop based on the Matrix protocol.

Fractal integrates well into the GNOME desktop with a clean and
easy-to-use user interface design that is optimized for collaboration in
big groups. The functionality was still limited in early releases from
spring 2018, when features such as video chat and end-to-end encryption
were missing. The user interface targets both smartphones and desktop
systems and adapts to different screen sizes and formats.[1]

It would be nice to have this great app in Debian main archive.

Bug#963587: boost1.71: outdated embedded data copy: unicode-data

2020-06-23 Thread Paul Wise
Source: boost1.71
Severity: normal
Usertags: embed

Unicode 11.0 was released and unicode-data 11.0.0-1 was uploaded.

The boost1.71 source package contains embedded data copies of several
files from the unicode-data package:

libs/spirit/include/boost/spirit/home/support/char_encoding/unicode/UnicodeData.txt
libs/spirit/include/boost/spirit/home/support/char_encoding/unicode/DerivedCoreProperties.txt
libs/spirit/include/boost/spirit/home/support/char_encoding/unicode/Scripts.txt
libs/spirit/include/boost/spirit/home/support/char_encoding/unicode/PropList.txt

Upstream appears to have converted those files into these files before
releasing the tarball. One of those files (query.hpp) is generated by a
python script that is not available in the source package, I think this
is therefore a severity serious bug but I'm not sure.

libs/spirit/include/boost/spirit/home/support/char_encoding/unicode/script_table.hpp
libs/spirit/include/boost/spirit/home/support/char_encoding/unicode/uppercase_table.hpp
libs/spirit/include/boost/spirit/home/support/char_encoding/unicode/category_table.hpp
libs/spirit/include/boost/spirit/home/support/char_encoding/unicode/query.hpp
libs/spirit/include/boost/spirit/home/support/char_encoding/unicode/lowercase_table.hpp

These files are then shipped in the libboost1.71-dev binary package.

Please ask upstream to remove the above files from the source package
and instead build-depend on the unicode-data binary package and convert
the relevant files to headers at build time.

Bug#963586: Geoclue documentation missing [network-nmea] example

2020-06-23 Thread Aaron Bockelie
Package: geoclue
Version: 2.0

Geoclue is capable of digesting a UDP NMEA stream, similar to gpsd.
The man page for Geoclue lacks information on how to configure this
option.

Without this option to clue in Geoclue configuration, it will have no
clue about NMEA sources to assist cluing in the system of its
location.

Adding a commented out example such as "url=0.0.0.0:5000" under the
configuration section header would clear up this ambiguity.

Example (add the url line):

# Network NMEA source configuration options
[network-nmea]
#url=0.0.0.0:5000

Bug#960302: imap retry must be tunable

2020-06-23 Thread Ryan Nowakowski
It looks like upstream rejected this patch:
https://github.com/roundcube/roundcubemail/pull/7402#issuecomment-633387944

I tend to agree with upstream here.  Perhaps this retry should be
implemented as a plugin as suggested?  Or at the very least, disabled by
default and togglable via a config setting.

Bug#963580: Please provide an alias (s=) for https URLs

Package: debian-installer

To simplify preseeding with an URL, I'd like to request an alias
"s=example.org", which is equivalent to "url=https://example.org"; .

Together with the support added in bug 850800 for setting a
debian-installer User-Agent, this makes it easy to redirect requests
from the Debian installer to a preseed file, so that preseeds can become
as simple as `s=example.org` .

Bug#963579: ITP: perfmark-java -- High Performance Tracing Library for Java

2020-06-23 Thread Olek Wojnar
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Olek Wojnar

* Package name: perfmark-java
  Version : 0.19.0
  Upstream Author : Google LLC
* URL : https://github.com/perfmark/perfmark
* License : Apache
  Programming Lang: Java
  Description : High Performance Tracing Library for Java

 Low-overhead, manually-instrumented, tracing library for Java. Users can add
 the tracing function calls to their code to see how long each part takes.
 .
 Features
 .
 * Very Low Overhead: When enabled, tracing a function call adds about 70ns.
   Tracing is done in a lock-free, wait-free, thread local buffer, which
   avoids interfering with your latency-sensitive code.
 .
 * Dynamically Enabled: PerfMark can be enabled or disabled at runtime. When
   disabled, PerfMark has zero overhead, taking advantage of the JIT compiler
   to remove the tracing.
 .
 * Inter-thread Communication: Existing profilers have difficulty expressing
   which thread wakes up and executes work on another thread. PerfMark allows
   users to express this relationship explicitly, making for a clear picture
   of how code flows.
 .
 * Small Library Size: The PerfMark tracing API is only 5 KB in size, and has
   minimal dependencies making it easy to include in other projects. If no
   backend for recording the trace is present, the library safely disables
   itself.
 .
 * Multiple Java Versions: The PerfMark API supports Java 6, making it easy to
   include on older or constrained environments. Additionally, PerfMark
   includes optimized backends for Java 6, Java 7, and Java 9. Each of these
   backends is automatically loaded at runtime (if possible) and uses advanced
   JVM features for maximum speed.
 .
 * Chrome Trace Viewer Integration: PerfMark can export to the Chrome Trace
   Event Format, making it easy to view in your Web Browser.

Bug#924937: libpq5: OpenSSL license contamination of GPL reverse-dependencies

2020-06-23 Thread Felix Lechner
Hi,

> the OpenSSL ./. GPL problem (if one sees it as a problem) is larger

There may be an alternative for some cases mentioned here. The wolfSSL
encryption library is a FIPS-certified, commercial product with a
fully usable, although incomplete, OpenSSL compatibility layer. The
developers are very friendly toward open-source. One of them uses
Ubuntu.

Licensed under the GPL (or alternatively proprietary terms), wolfSSL
avoids the linking problems OpenSSL has been trying to shed for years.
wolfSSL is popular in embedded systems. If you bought an appliance or
a car in the past ten years, you are probably using it already.

In the enterprise space, MariaDB ships with an older, captive version.
For a long time, MySQL relied on it (then called cyaSSL). I do not
know if PostgreSQL can use it.

Here is a list of projects that have been officially ported. [1]

Daniel Stenberg, the creator of cURL, works there. I see the
developers from time to time and receive free support. The library has
been in Debian for five years.

Kind regards
Felix Lechner

At this point Meson is no longer involved. Ninja has invoked c++ and
that process then crashes. Running that command by hand in the same
system should result in the same crash.

Bug#963524: dpkg: source-only *.changes files lack two mandatory fields

2020-06-23 Thread Chris Lamb
Felix Lechner wrote:

... then I don't understand why this was not filed there first to
clarify the situation.

I am no expert, but to me this is a simple oversight in the Debian
Policy caused by source-only uploads being popularised only fairly
recently. It is not worthy of an "RC in all but name" bug against a
package that appears to be doing the right thing in a new situation:
there are no binaries, so a Binary field would be wrong.

That is all to say, I do not understand how this is a bug in dpkg
and/or how it could be fixed here. I further hope that readers of this
bug are not predisposed to see the filing of this bug as being, how
can I put it, unfriendly.

Bug#774797: bcache support in the installer (most importantly include bcache.ko)

2020-06-23 Thread Ben Hutchings
Control: tag -1 patch

Patches to build a udeb from bcache-tools.

There still needs to be a partman-bcache package, but that will be
separate from the bcache-tools source package.

Ben.

Bug#963576: ITP: golang-github-stevenroose-gonfig -- Go package for program configuration

2020-06-23 Thread Leo Antunes
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Leo Antunes

* Package name: golang-github-stevenroose-gonfig
  Version : 0.1.5-1
  Upstream Author : Steven Roose
* URL : https://github.com/stevenroose/gonfig
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Go
  Description : Go package for program configuration

 gonfig is a configuration library designed using the following
 principles:
 - The configuration variables are fully specified and loaded into a
   struct variable.
 - You only need one statement to load the configuration fully.
 - Configuration variables can be retrieved from various sources, in
   this order of increasing priority:
   - default values from the struct definition
   - the value already in the object when passed into Load()
   - config file in either YAML, TOML, JSON or a custom decoder
   - environment variables
   - command line flags

 Furthermore, it has the following features:
 - supported types for interpreting:
   - native Go types: all int, uint, string, bool
   - types that implement TextUnmarshaler from the "encoding" package
   - byte slices ([]byte) are interpreted as base64
   - slices of the above mentioned types
   - map[string]interface{}
 - the location of the config file can be passed through command line
   flags or environment variables
 - printing help message (and hiding individual flags)

This package is needed for #963575

 Its main use-case is adding low-maintenance security to public-cloud

Other then pleasing lintian, is there any reason for this rename? There
doesn't appear to to be a SONAME bump involved. So if there is no ABI
breakage involved, I fail to see why fixing this cosmetic issues cannot
wait until upstream bumps the SONAME.

While the current MUA concept in reportbug is limited, I don't want to break
the parts that are actually working. This stuff needs to keep working even in
text-only environments, so xdg support can only be added as a new option.
That's also why I think there is value in a custom mua option outside xdg. I
agree that adding an xdg-email option as a first step is likely to cover the
most common case and will be a huge improvement already. Custom mua support can
be the next step.

Bug#963573: partman-target: please add systemd hints to fstab

2020-06-23 Thread Chris Hofstaedtler
Source: partman-target
Version: 115

Dear Installer Team,

please consider adding words informing users they should run
"systemctl daemon-reload" after changing /etc/fstab.

With stale mount units from an older /etc/fstab, users might observe
"interesting surprises", f.e. systemd might umount newly mounted
filesystems, if the in-memory mount units conflict with info in
/etc/fstab.

Please find a potential patch attached.

Thanks,
Chris

Subject: [PATCH] create_fstab_header: add systemd hints

systemd reads /etc/fstab to generate mount units. They become stale
in-memory configuration after fstab is changed, and this can lead
to nasty surprises.

Example: systemd might unmount newly mounted filesystems, if
/etc/fstab had conflicting info previously.

With the removal of gnome-doc-utils the only remaining rdep of python-libxml2
is gone (apart from src:chirp, but it's already uninstallable for various other
packages which have dropped Py2 support, so can be safely ignored).

Patch attached.

Cheers,
Moritz

Bug#960452: mount: Editing fstab in a valid way causes silent failure to mount

Right. I've asked around, and someone insightfully suggested:
systemd might have a mnt-foo.mount unit loaded (after reading
/etc/fstab for the first time), and if it somehow disagrees with
your changes to /etc/fstab, it -might- unmount /mnt/foo immediately
after you manually mounting it.

I was also pointed at https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/1741
- maybe anything there sound familar?

Okay, that would match the suggestion. In this case I'd think this
is more a systemd issue than a mount issue - mount passes your mount
request to the kernel, and the kernel mounts it. Then something else
(probably systemd) unmounts it immediately.

The differing mount opts in your dmesg output might also be
relevant.

Maybe adding some words to fstab(5) might really be the best thing
to do :-/

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Chris

Bug#903210: kgb-bot: Please add https support

This is probably not the answer you're looking for, but I suspect it
might be preferable, if not easier, to delegate this to a proxy. It's
fairly trivial to implement one with Nginx or Apache and it might avoid
the complication of setting up TLS and certs management and all that
stuff inside this poor little bot.

I have used this configuration fairly successfully here:

server {
  listen 0.0.0.0:80;
  listen [::]:80;
  server_name kgb-bot.torproject.org;
  server_tokens off; ## Don't show the nginx version number, a security best
practice
  return 301 https://$http_host$request_uri;
}

server {
  listen 0.0.0.0:443 ssl;
  listen [::]:443 ssl;
  server_name kgb-bot.torproject.org;
  server_tokens off; ## Don't show the nginx version number, a security best
practice

  ssl on;
  ssl_certificate
/etc/ssl/torproject/certs/kgb-bot.torproject.org.crt-chained;
  ssl_certificate_key   /etc/ssl/private/kgb-bot.torproject.org.key;

  access_log  /var/log/nginx/kgb-bot_access.log privacy;
  error_log   /var/log/nginx/kgb-bot_error.log;

  client_max_body_size 0;
  gzip off;

  proxy_redirect  off;

  proxy_set_headerHost$http_host;
  proxy_set_headerX-Real-IP   $remote_addr;
  proxy_set_headerX-Forwarded-Ssl on;
  proxy_set_headerX-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for;
  proxy_set_headerX-Forwarded-Proto   $scheme;
  proxy_set_headerUpgrade $http_upgrade;

  location / {
proxy_pass http://localhost:5391;
  }

  # webhooks are unauthenticated in KGB, enfore that only the GitLab
  # host can write here.
  location /webhook {
proxy_pass http://localhost:5391;

# The proper way of doing this would be for KGB to implement
# support for GitLab's secret tokens:
#
# https://bugs.debian.org/927342
#
# For now we'll just hardcode the IP address here.
#
# XXX: MAGIC-IP-ADDRESS: gitlab-02
allow 116.202.120.180;
allow 2a01:4f8:fff0:4f:266:37ff:feb8:3489;
deny all;
  }
}

Note how we make an exception out of `webhook` because of #927342: this
is important as the proxy will bypass the webhook `allow_networks`
restriction...

I hope that helps!

Bug#963571: steam-launcher: Steam crashes after dist-upgrade, possibly due to graphics drivers

2020-06-23 Thread Sebastian
package: steam-launcher
version: 1.0.0.62

Dear Maintainer,

It seems to have broken after updating the mesa drivers. Steam will launch
and try to install, "libgl1-mesa-dri:i386" and "libgl1:1386". I have
enabled support for 32 bit packages multiple times. It then says the
package "libgl1-mesa-dri:i386" is replaced by "libgl1-mesa-dri". Lastly it
says neither of them have an installation candidate. I press "Enter" and it
says the following 32-bit libraries are missing "libGL.so.1" and
"libdrm.so.2". Steam is currently completely broken and fails to start. It
also says my arch is foreign.

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "urlwatch"

 * Package name: urlwatch
   Version : 2.18-2
   Upstream Author : Thomas Perl
 * URL : https://thp.io/2008/urlwatch/
 * License : BSD-3-clause
 * Vcs : https://salsa.debian.org/mwerlen/urlwatch
   Section : web

  urlwatch - monitors webpages for you

To access further information about this package, please visit the
following URL:

  https://mentors.debian.net/package/urlwatch

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x
https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/u/urlwatch/urlwatch_2.18-2.dsc

Changes since the last upload:

Hi,

Thanks for the report. I've found an existing patch upstream for these
pycodestyle violations.
I've packaged the patch in urlwatch-2.18-2 and uploaded the package to
mentors.

Regards,

The bug is not in the libtgvoip package itself but apparently caused by
incomplete porting GYP to Python 3. Dear GYP maintainer, please fix
CMake generator, switch it to built-in str.maketrans.

I am already working on a new version of the libtgvoip package. It will
not use GYP and not solve the actual issue in the build tool.

Bug#963567: nginx: Update ngx_http_auth_pam_module source

2020-06-23 Thread Sergio Talens-Oliag
Source: nginx
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

The debian/modules/watch/http-auth-pam is pointing to the wrong github
repository, some years ago my username at github.com was changed from 'stogh'
to 'sto', so the right URL for the module now is:
https://github.com/sto/ngx_http_auth_pam_module/tag.

Today I've applied a couple of small patches and tagged a new version, so
probably its a good idea to update the file and update the module on the debian
package.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, seen that. I haven't looked into the details yet why ffi isn't being
built on non-amd64 targets.

Now qdarkstyle and helpdev are in Sid (team-maintained in DPMT and PAPT Team).
There seems no work on python-language-server yet.

As a DPMT and PAPT member, I'm willing to do the sponsor work if anyone is to
work on the dependency chain of python-language-server packages. With a quick
glance this might not be trivial but also not really compliciated.

Bug#963564: gfortran: Internal error when processing pFUnit generated files with --coverage

2020-06-23 Thread Ole Streicher
Package: gfortran-10
Version: 10.1.0-3
Control: forwarded -1 https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=95847

Dear maintainers,

copying https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=95847 for your
convenience:

With gcc 9 and 10, compiling the attached file with coverage info raises
an internal error:

$ gfortran-10 -c --coverage funit-bug.f90
during IPA pass: profile
funit-bug.f90:8:0:

8 |use foo
  |
internal compiler error: in coverage_begin_function, at coverage.c:656

GNU Fortran (Debian 10.1.0-3) 10.1.0
[…]
$ gfortran-9 --version
GNU Fortran (Debian 9.3.0-14) 9.3.0

This does not happen with gfortran-8, so it is a regression:

$ gfortran-8 -c --coverage funit-bug.f90
$ gfortran-8 --version
GNU Fortran (Debian 8.4.0-4) 8.4.0

System is Debian 11 testing.
The attached file is derived from a pFUnit generated file where this was
originally observed .
module foo
contains
subroutine sbr()
end subroutine sbr
end module foo

function foo_suite() result(suite)
   use foo
   integer :: bar
   integer :: res
   res = bar(sbr)
end function foo_suite

Bug#963520: guitarix: depend on prename

2020-06-23 Thread Hermann Meyer

Hi

Hermann here, I'm the upstream maintainer.

Thanks for you interest in our work.

Let's have a look at the part were you complain about.

  set +e
  RN=$(rename -V  2>/dev/null| grep File::Rename)
  if [ ! -z "$RN" ] ; then
    use_to_rename='rename'
  fi
  if [ -z "$RN" ] ; then
    RN=$(prename -V  2>/dev/null| grep File::Rename)
    use_to_rename='prename'
  fi
  if [ -z "$RN" ] ; then
    RN=$(perl-rename -V  2>/dev/null| grep File::Rename)
    use_to_rename='perl-rename'
  fi
  if [ -z "$RN" ] ; then
    RNUL=$(rename -V  2>/dev/null| grep util-linux)
    if [ -z "$RNUL" ] ; then
  RNUL=$(rename.ul -V  2>/dev/null| grep util-linux)
  use_to_rename='rename.ul'
    else
  use_to_rename='rename'
    fi
  fi
  set -e

So, what does that mean?

We look for which rename tool is available and use the one we find
first. That may differ from distribution to distribution. But looking
for it, couldn't be a bug, or could it?

Anyway, this is a developer tool which will never be part of any debian
package. It's part of the source for documentation of what we do, and
how we do it.

Please consider to mark this report as done.

hermann

Bug#963562: ITP: aioice -- implementation of ICE

2020-06-23 Thread Jonas Smedegaard
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Jonas Smedegaard

* Package name : python-aioice
  Version  : 0.6.18
  Upstream Author  : Jeremy Lainé
* Url  : https://github.com/aiortc/aioice
* Licenses : BSD-3-clause~aioice
  Programming Lang : Python
  Section  : python

 aioice is a library for Interactive Connectivity Establishment
 (RFC 5245) in Python.
 It is built on top of asyncio,
 Python's standard asynchronous I/O framework.
 .
 Interactive Connectivity Establishment (ICE)
 is useful for applications
 that establish peer-to-peer UDP data streams,
 as it facilitates NAT traversal.
 Typical usecases include SIP and WebRTC.

This package is needed by python-av.

I plan to maintain this package myself, in the debian section of Salsa:

 https://salsa.debian.org/debian/python-aioice.git

The Eclipse Web Tools Platform (WTP) project extends the Eclipse platform with
tools for developing Web and Java EE applications. It includes source and
graphical editors for a variety of languages, wizards and built-in applications
to simplify development, and tools and APIs to support deploying, running, and
testing apps.

This is a reintroduction of the package and I only intend to build and
package webtools.common and webtools.sourceediting as I need them for
#943552. The remaining modules can be built and packaged if any other
package needs them.

I can maintain them under the umbrella of java-team.

Bug#963557: src:ensmallen: fails to migrate to testing for too long: FTBFS armel/armhf/mipsel

Dear maintainer(s),

As recently announced [1], the Release Team now considers packages that
are out-of-sync between testing and unstable for more than 60 days as
having a Release Critical bug in testing. Your package src:ensmallen in
its current version in unstable has been trying to migrate for 61 days
[2]. Hence, I am filing this bug.

If a package is out of sync between unstable and testing for a longer
period, this usually means that bugs in the package in testing cannot be
fixed via unstable. Additionally, blocked packages can have impact on
other packages, which makes preparing for the release more difficult.
Finally, it often exposes issues with the package and/or
its (reverse-)dependencies. We expect maintainers to fix issues that
hamper the migration of their package in a timely manner.

This bug will trigger auto-removal when appropriate. As with all new
bugs, there will be at least 30 days before the package is auto-removed.

I have immediately closed this bug with the version in unstable, so if
that version or a later version migrates, this bug will no longer affect
testing. I have also tagged this bug to only affect sid and bullseye, so
it doesn't affect (old-)stable.

If you believe your package is unable to migrate to testing due to
issues beyond your control, don't hesitate to contact the Release Team.

Bug#953973: Can I help maintain powerline and powerline-git-status?

2020-06-23 Thread Samuel Henrique
Hello Jerome,

FIrst of all, thanks for adding and maintaining powerline on Debian,
these are tools that I use extensively and the fact that they are
packaged on Debian helps me (and surely tons of other users) a lot.

I noticed powerline and powerline-git-status has a few bugs that I
could fix, like #937314, #951434 and #953973.

Would you accept my help on maintaining these packages? I would like
to add myself as an Uploader and move the packaging to the Debian org
in salsa.

Looking forward to working with you,

Thanks,

Bug#963554: src:openjdk-11: fails to migrate to testing for too long: FTBFS on armel & mips*el

2020-06-23 Thread Paul Gevers
Source: openjdk-11
Version: 11.0.7+9-1
Severity: serious
Control: close -1 11.0.7+10-3
Tags: sid bullseye
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: out-of-sync

Dear maintainer(s),

As recently announced [1], the Release Team now considers packages that
are out-of-sync between testing and unstable for more than 60 days as
having a Release Critical bug in testing. Your package src:openjdk-11 in
its current version in unstable has been trying to migrate for 68 days

Paul

Another good point, thanks for clarifying.

As mentioned in another email, I'm going to make bsdmainutils a
transitional package, making this issue mood.

Bug#963552: RFS: mtd-utils/1:2.1.1-1.1 [NMU] -- Memory Technology Device Utilities

2020-06-23 Thread Bastian Germann
Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for the package "mtd-utils". The maintainer
did not respond to the bugs #889868 and #911821 which have patches
already included by others in git. Those changes are included in this
package version.

Two new binary packages are included in this NMU, which will be useful
for the swupdate package.

The maintainer is on the LowThresholdNmu list.

 * Package name: mtd-utils
   Version : 1:2.1.1-1.1
 * URL : http://www.linux-mtd.infradead.org/
 * License : GPL-2+
 * Vcs : https://salsa.debian.org/debian/mtd-utils
   Section : utils

It builds those binary packages:

  mtd-utils - Memory Technology Device Utilities
  libmtd-dev - Memory Technology Device Development Libraries
  libubi-dev - UBIFS Development Libraries

To access further information about this package, please visit the
following URL:

  https://mentors.debian.net/package/mtd-utils

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x
https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/m/mtd-utils/mtd-utils_2.1.1-1.1.dsc

Changes since the last upload:

   [ Bastian Germann ]
   * Non-maintainer upload.
   * Conflict with libssl-dev
   * Add libmtd-dev and libubi-dev
   * lib*-dev: Don't include private kernel header
 .
   [ Balint Reczey ]
   * Add minimal Salsa CI config
   * Enable unit tests
   * Build-depend on libcmocka-dev
   * Ignore test results on ppc64el because cmocka is broken there

Regards,
Bastian Germann

Yes, and also GCONV_PATH, GETCONF_DIR, HOSTALIASES, LOCALDOMAIN,
LOCPATH, MALLOC_TRACE, NIS_PATH, NLSPATH, RESOLV_HOST_CONF, RES_OPTIONS,
TMPDIR, and TZDIR.

I do not know enough about apparmor and its threat model to know if it
should be considered or not. From the glibc point of view, nothing can
be really done, it just obeys the AT_SECURE flag passed by the kernel.

Now looking at apparmor.d(5), it seems it *might* be controlled by the
change_profile option with the safe and unsafe mode. But I don't speak
apparmor fluently enough to actually know how to introduce that option
in a profile.

> (Other than creating /etc/suid-debug, which is dangerous.)

Yes, this means that it becomes very easy to become root on a system
with that file.

Aurelien

Bug#963550: RM: zyne -- ROM; missing dependency

2020-06-23 Thread Tiago Bortoletto Vaz
Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

Current packaged version depends on obsolete wxPython.

New upstream version depends on (at least one) unpackaged library pyo-tools.

See https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=807648

Not impossible to repackage it in the future if anyone is interested on
rechecking all the new required dependencies.

Thanks,

This "helm" is a plugin for emacs. Its binary packages are elpa-helm and elpa-
helm core. It does not deliver a helm executable.

So there's no collision between emacs' helm and kubernetes' helm besides the
source package name.

I mentioned this in a previous email: the problem is if the upgrade
breaks and the admin has to consult man pages to work out how to fix it.
(I did just that less than an hour ago in another situation, so I don't
think this is a theoretical concern.)

Bug#963545: aptitude-create-state-bundle can't deal with no $HOME/.aptitude present

2020-06-23 Thread 積丹尼 Dan Jacobson
Package: aptitude-common
Version: 0.8.13-1

# aptitude-create-state-bundle /tmp/z
tar: .//root/.aptitude: Cannot stat: No such file or directory
tar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors

Well the man page says $HOME/.aptitude, which looks different than the
above.

But what's the big deal? Why can't the program proceed if it isn't
present?

Aptitude itself can still run, why not aptitude-create-state-bundle?

P.S., why not also grab a apt-config dump too?

Bug#963508: /lib/ld-linux.so.2: LD_PRELOAD breaks with plain filename [and 1 more messages]

Thanks for your explanations and sorry for being dense.

Obviously it wouldn't be right for eatmydata to be loaded by actually
setuid programs.

Ian Jackson writes ("Re: Bug#963508: /lib/ld-linux.so.2: LD_PRELOAD breaks with
plain filename"):

So the overall effect is that programs with apparmor profiles are
mostly protected from the effects of LD_PRELOAD (and, I assume,
LD_LIBRARY_PATH and various other properties of the execution
environment).

This doesn't seem correct to me. Is there any documentation giving a
rationale for this ? Is there a way to change this locally ?
(Other than creating /etc/suid-debug, which is dangerous.)

Ian.

Bug#963531: rsync: requires execmem probably due to executable stack

2020-06-23 Thread Christian Göttsche
Package: rsync
Version: 3.2.0-1
Severity: important

Hi,

rsync in version 3.2.0-1 started to require the SELinux permission execmem.
If denied rsync fails with "Segmentation fault".

This is probably due to the stack marked as executable, and hopefully
fixed with 3.2.1 ("Avoid the stack getting set to executable when
including the asm code.").

Example SELinux denial:
