But it would have been nice if that information was in the bug report. Atleast 2 DDs have asked for this new upstream package, so it shouldn't have been that hard to find a sponsor. I'll take a look at it. Hm, I looked at it right now and it FTBFS and has weird copyright information for the icons and picard/browser/filelookup.py. The first problem can be fixed using librsvg2-bin in Build-Depends, but the copyright problem is a little bit harder - see resources/img-src/Copyright.htm for the unfree license. I also got the FTBFS part. Note that you can also fix it with adding libmagickcore3-extra. Note that the copyright file says: picard is triple-licensed under 'GNU General Public License', 'RealNetworks Public Source License Version 1.0' and 'RealNetworks Community Source License Version 1.0'. Kurt Hi mates, Indeed the FTFBS issue i quite trivial but the icon licensing is the real problem. I never really tried to find a sponsor because I haven't find some time to deal with this stupid icon license issue. Is there any one who's able to create a new one with inkscape ? Bug#554904: HellaNZB crashes on startup when missing unrar package
Severin Heiniger a écrit : Package: hellanzb Version: 0.13-5.2 Severity: important Tags: patch The hellanzb package has been patched so that it doesn't use unrar by default in order to prevent the package from being moved from main to contrib. In more detail, the SKIP_UNRAR configuration option defaults to True in Debian and unrar has been added to hellanzb's Suggests. So far so good. However, hellanzb crashes on startup if unrar isn't installed, no matter what the SKIP_UNRAR configuration option is set to: A problem occurred while reading the config file: FatalError': Cannot continue program, required executable not found: 'unrar' Exiting: FatalError': Cannot continue program, required executable not found: 'unrar' The attached debdiff fixes this bug. It changes hellanzb's Core.py so that it only looks for the unrar executable if SKIP_UNRAR is not set to True. The diff also contains other minor changes, which of course can be dropped if they're not welcome: * Bump Standards-Version to 3.8.3 (no changes needed). * Add README.sources to fix patch-system-but-no-source-readme lintian warning. * Minor cleanup in README.Debian and NEWS.Debian. If the patch is applied, I'll take care of sending it upstream. However, the project is more or less dead. Fixing this bug will also make it possible to finally resolve #523851, because up to now, LottaNZB depended unrar only to prevent HellaNZB from crashing. PS: François is not working on exaile anymore. Michal Čihař a écrit : Hello exaile maintainers it looks like both exaile and sonata ship mmkeys python module. In last upload I switched sonata to use python-support which did uncover this conflict, which probably exists for quite a long time (at least Sonata includes mmkeys for very long time). Bug#503345: locale= mount option, hal and ntfs-3g
Hello Michael, Go ahead with a NMU. It'll be faster and I really think this bug should be fixed asap. Thanks for having a look and fixing this issue ! Regards, Adam. Michael Biebl a écrit : Package: ntfs-3g Version: 1:1.2531-1 Severity: important Hi Adam, I'm part of the Debian pkg-utopia team which maintains hal. A recent bug report [1] against hal, brought to our attention, that mounting ntfs volumes from within KDE is broken, so potentially quite a few users are affected. You can read the details on the bug report [1] or at the discussion I started on the hal mailing list [2]. In short, it's about hal offering the locale= option for ntfs file systems, while the kernel fs driver does not support the locale= option. There are attempts to fix this in a more sophisticated way withing hal, which will also require updates to the mount tools of KDE and GNOME, but this is not doable for lenny. A proposed short term solution, is to remove the locale= option from /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/20-storage-methods.fdi and make the ntfs-3g package ship a fdi file, which adds the locale= option back and overrides the fstype to be ntfs-3g, i.e. if ntfs-3g is installed, hal will always use ntfs-3g when mounting ntfs volumes, which imo is an acceptable compromise and I'd like to get this fix into lenny. This requires, that the ntfs-3g package installs a file, like the one I've attached, to /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/ As soon as you have updated the ntfs-3g to include this file, I'd upload an updated hal version, which removes the locale= option from 20-storage-methods.fdi and ask for freeze exceptions for lenny for both hal and ntfs-3g. If you are too busy, I'd offer to NMU ntfs-3g, if you grant me the permission to do it. Bug#485909: fuse-source fails to build with linux-source-2.6.25
Hello, fuse-source is not needed anymore with recent kernel. I think dropping fuse-source package is the right way, at least for a stable release. Bug#488419: needed for new mac80211 interface
Hi, Package is ready, I sent a mail to a co-worker to get it uploaded ! Regards, Adam. Robert Millan a écrit : severity 488419 important thanks Hi, This is increasingly important because 1.0~rc1 or later is needed for the mac80211 interface introduced in recent versions of Linux. See: http://aircrack-ng.org/doku.php?id=mac80211 Mac80211 introduced changes to monitor mode to support the Radiotap standard. Radiotap is a new packet header format, similar to the Prism header. As mac80211 requires all injected packets to have a Radiotap header, which is not supported in aircrack-ng 0.9, injection requires at least aircrack-ng 1.0-rc1. It seems that drivers that have switched to this interface no longer work with older versions of aircrack-ng. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? It should about 50% of the time. The test script doesn't show it because it just compares the two wonky CRCs. It only matters if you need the value externally. If you have the (signed) integer value, you can get it to convert to (python) long via crc32 = crc32 0xL which hex() then formats correctly. This actually is a problem with all the CRC32 implementations in Python, because Python doesn't have an unsigned 32-bit integer. Steve Thanks a lot. Bug#430905: 430905
Status of this bug: Configuration of 1.2 is incompatible with newer version because of switch to MCS ad XDG standards. It will never be compatible. However there're some things wrong: * upstream: manpages sometimes still speak about $HOME/.audacious * me: NEWS.Debian should explain that configuration files are incompatible and that the user can just rm -rf $HOME/.audacious Waiting on upstream manpages to be fixed before closing this bug. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#464964: #464964: ntfs-3g: unknown filesystem type when mount
Hello, I'm aware of this bug and a fixed package is already available. However it still seems to fail when my sponsor give a try so it hasn't been uploaded yet. If you have some debian packaging skills, could you please build try this package [1] ? Regards, Adam. Bug#436943: #436943: grub2: after install boots into rescue mode
Hello, I can confirm this bug with package 1.96+20080203-1. I purged all grub stuff and dropped /boot/grub. Then I installed grub-pc and ran update-grub. grub-cfg looked sane but I can't reboot anymore. He is some informations about my system: arch: amd64 branch: lenny with some sid parts disk subsystem: silicon image sil3132 sata controller, one 400Gb sata disk on it (nothing else, except a sata dvdrw) partitionning: no /boot; / is on XFS filesystems and is the first partition Some things that are suspicious: hd0,0 with grub1 has turned into hd0,1 (maybe grub changed its naming shema to match linux' one ?) I can't type linux in the grub2 shell (unknown command). help doesn't list this command When running insmod normal i get an out of partition error. Bug#463247: #463247: audacious: .ape format (Monkey Audio Codec) plugin not available
Hello, The main problem is that mokey audi is not free software. That's why you won't found any audio player in debian that does support APE files. However, I will have a look to upstream license again to see if it's suitable for an upload to non-free. William, please never merge this into core plugins package. Keep it separate. Bug#452272: #452272: aqualung: Support for multiple genre and artist tags
Hello Eric, With aqualung beta9, the whole tag handling part has been completly re-written. Could you please confirm this bug on beta9 ? If it's still valid, I'll forward your request to upstream. Regards, Adam. PS: If you have a redistribuable sound file with multiple artist tags, please attach it to this bug. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#459504: #459504: picard: segfault on cd lookup
Hello, There was a nasty bug that broke ffmpeg backend build in some case... It's now fixed in 0.9.0-2 and I really thinks the sefault was related to this (see: 'No decoder found'). Hello, I confirm what the submitter said. On debian it's /dev/lp/usbX. I could you patch the help text to use the right name but it would be really better if all printers devices nodes could be auto-detected. Upstream... What's you mind about this?
