Bug#336808: Can't reproduce bugs #336808 and #337396

2007-08-17 Thread Adam Funk
 I cannot reproduce the problems you described and tagged the bugs as
 unreproducible. If you have further information, please submit it
 (please test with the current version 0.7.7-1).

The following came from an Ubuntu Feisty system, but as we discussed
you think the package is the same. Hope this helps!

Bug#338778: grip: Config-Rip-Options Wav filter command doesn't run.

2005-11-12 Thread Adam Funk
Package: grip
Version: 3.2.0-5
Severity: important

I have package normalize-audio 0.7.6-7 and want to use it to normalize
the *.wav files before encoding. So in the Config - Rip - Options
tab I enter /usr/bin/normalize-audio -a -20dB but the resulting
*.wav and *.mp3 files end up at a higher volume: grip appears to
ignore the command completely. (I also tried it with the
%stuff%stuff.wav filename on the end of the command-line.)

Bug#337396: normalize-audio: normalize-mp3 --tmpdir DIR option doesn't work (see also #336808)

2005-11-04 Thread Adam Funk
Package: normalize-audio
Version: 0.7.6-7
Severity: normal

The --tmpdir DIR option always fails with Can't rename temp file
(This is how I discovered bug #336808: the original mp3 file has been
deleted at this point.)

At first I thought it was a problem with /tmp but it also occurs with
other directories.

$ normalize-mp3 --tmpdir /tmp -a -20dB *.mp3

Running normalize...
Re-encoding foo.mp3...
Can't rename temp file, leaving in /tmp/normalize-mp3-21604.tag, stopped at

Can't rename temp file, leaving in /home/jfunk/normalize-mp3-21647.tag, stopped

Bug#336808: normalize-audio: normalize-mp3 deletes original mp3 before failing with Can't rename temp file

2005-11-01 Thread Adam Funk
Package: normalize-audio
Version: 0.7.6-7
Severity: important

The normalize-mp3 command deletes the original mp3 file too early, so
it can be lost if an error occurs, as in the following example.

$ normalize-mp3 --tmpdir /tmp/ -a -19dB foo.mp3 bar.mp3
Decoding foo.mp3...
Running normalize...
Re-encoding foo.mp3...
Can't rename temp file, leaving in /tmp/normalize-mp3-27670.tag, stopped at
/usr/bin/normalize-mp3 line 219.

$ mkdir /tmp/foo

$ normalize-mp3 --tmpdir /tmp/foo/ -a -19dB foo.mp3 bar.mp3
Can't read foo.mp3: No such file or directory, stopped at
/usr/bin/normalize-mp3 line 131.

Bug#305481: knode: Disable automatic setting of Followup-To header for cross-posted articles

2005-04-20 Thread Adam Funk
Package: knode
Version: 4:3.3.2-3
Severity: normal

Every time I reply to a cross-posted newsgroup posting, KNode
automatically sets the Followup-To header to the first group on the
list, even if I don't subscribe to it. Usually I don't want to set
the Followup-To header at all, and I have to remember to manually
change it for each message I post. There is no way to configure this
behaviour or to disable it completely.

I think this is a normal bug rather than a wishlist item because it
adversely affects the functionality of posting and annoys not only
KNode users but also other people reading newsgroups in which KNode
users accidentally set Followup-To headers.

Bug 68732 in the KDE bug tracking system refers to this but the
developers have been unresponsive. I would be grateful if the Debian
developers would put pressure on them to fix this.

Bug#292049: mozilla-firefox: Firefox steals focus when page loads.

 Actually I've noticed firefox hasn't been bringing itself forward
 recently, even without that pref. What gives?

As they say, your mileage may vary!? I tested this (by clicking a link
and immediately hitting Alt-Tab) and it annoyed me; then I closed
Firefox, added the line to user.js, restarted Firefox and tested it
again. It has not stolen focus from me since then.

I suppose it's not much of a bug if the user can prevent it, but I had
searched the web extensively and found this obscure fix only by luck
(reading a long page of Bugzilla report linked from a message on the
debian-user list).

Firefox steals keyboard focus and brings itself forward on the desktop
