Bug#450714: icedove: spellchecker language from addressbook

2007-11-09 Thread Alexander Buerger
Package: icedove
Version: 2.0.0.6-1
Severity: wishlist

It would be nice to have an entry in the addressbook not only for
setting the html/plain preference of the recipient, but also for the
language, and to make the editor's spell-checker (optionally) switch
to this language when starting compostition. At present it is quite
annoying to switch the spell-checking manually for each mail.

Bug#450585: wine-bin: wine immediately crashes with most X servers

2007-11-08 Thread Alexander Buerger
Package: wine-bin
Version: 0.9.44-1
Severity: important

I have problems running wine which are somehow related to the X server.
On one computer, wine crashes when run under vnc4server while it works
when logging in from my terminal (which has an old ATI 3D Rage IIC card)
via ssh. On my amd64 laptop it does not run neither with fglrx 8.40.4
nor with vesa.

The program I need to run is LISE++
(ftp://ftp.nscl.msu.edu/pub/lise/LISE++/open_lise++_8_0_36.zip,
LISE++.exe). This has been working the last time I used it about three
months ago. But also winecfg does not work now.

On the ia32 computer (with vncserver) the error message is:
=
glxcmds.c:343: CreateContext: Assertion `mode != ((void *)0)' failed.
wine: Assertion failed at address 0xb7f8e410 (thread 0016), starting
debugger...

Bug#423012: dictionaries-common: impossible to install due to circular dependency

2007-05-09 Thread Alexander Buerger
Package: dictionaries-common
Version: 0.80.1
Severity: normal

On a computer without dictionaries-common, it seems impossible to me to
install it. d-c misses alternatives for ispell-dictionary.hash and refuses
to run preinst. I assume a dictionary would provide such an alternative, but
no dictionary can be installed without dictionaries-common.

Running sudo dselect to update the computer, installation of

about a bad *USER* .fontconfig cache entry. It works without problem
when running with su - and then dpkg -i fc-cache should ignore

Bug#388744: selinux-policy-refpolicy-targeted: postinst package list retrieval suggestion

2006-09-22 Thread Alexander Buerger
Package: selinux-policy-refpolicy-targeted
Version: 0.0.20060911-2
Severity: normal

The postinst script of the package seems to generate policies for all
available packages, not only the installed ones, and this very slowly.
Maybe it is possible to query the installed packages with a script like
this, making just one call to dpkg-query and storing the result in a
hash:
===
my %installed;
open( my $PACKAGES, dpkg-query -W | )
or die(Cannot run 'dpkg-query -W'. $!);
while( my $p = $PACKAGES ) {
$installed{$1} = $2 if( $p =~ /^(.*)\t(.+)$/ );
}
close($PACKAGES) or die(Could not close pipe.);

work.

Bug#383622: sylpheed: Unusable with AOL.de accounts.

2006-08-18 Thread Alexander Buerger
Package: sylpheed
Version: 2.2.7-1
Severity: important

Using sylpheed with a AOL.de email account is not possible. Sylpheed
finds two INBOX foldes, one INBOX and one Inbox. For the first
startup, is shows the messages in the INBOX. Then, clicking on some
other folder and on INBOX again, it shows the correct message count but
no messages. Changing from and to INBOX again sets message count to 0.
Fortunately the messages on the server are not affected.

Bug#350089: xemacs21: Problem with savehist/exit.

2006-01-27 Thread Alexander Buerger
Package: xemacs21
Version: 21.4.18-3
Severity: normal

In the latest version of xemacs21, with savehist loaded, it is no longer
possible to leave xemacs: C-x C-c only says
   No such coding system: iso-2022-8
but does not exit, neither does closing the window work. The only way
to leave xemacs is backgrounding + kill.

The problem does not appear when the line
  '(savehist-mode t nil (savehist))
(which was written there via customize) is commented out in custom.el.
