Yes, that looks pretty much as it should. Good... Or bad, since I don't
know, what's the problem causing.

I can start Xdialog on a different Lenny machine and it works nicely. Do
 you have any suggestions?

Do you know any differences between the working machine and the non working
one? Especially regarding bug-buddy?

I talked to the GNOME maintainers, and they think the problem might be
missing xfonts-100dpi or xfonts-75dpi packages. Can you confirm this? Has
the working computer these packages installed while the other one has not?

2009-06-11 Thread Alexander Reichle-Schmehl
Package: latex-beamer
Version: 3.07-2
Severity: wishlist

Hi!

There's a nice theme for Latex beamer. Main advantage of that theme is, that
it has a progress bar showing how far your progressed in your talk.

It's available from
http://www.cert.fr/dcsd/THESES/sbouveret/francais/LaTeX.html and licensend
under the terms of the GPL-2. I think it would be worth to be added in Debian,
but don't think it warrants a package for itself, since it's archive is just
5kb. So, maybe you could add it to the latex-beamer main package?

I use it on my server, I'll try to take a look at it when I find the time.

Hi LaMont!

While browsing through the list of release critical bugs searching for
something I could do for Lenny, I noticed that your package bind9 has a
release critical bug open for more or less a year.

There's even a patch supplied, which looks IMHO sane. Any comments from
you regarding that matter would be most welcome.

If you can't find the time to deal with this bug yourself, I can offer you
to NMU bind9 for you.

Maybe it's also useful to mention other names of this game. I know at

and apt-cache search will not output it in this case).

Playing advocatus diaboli: Are any of these terms protected with

And mention also (just in case one doesn't like openyahtzee):
Another implementation called gtali can be found in the gnome-games package.

Good idea, especially since gtali (Tali? Another name for Kniffel /
Knubbel / Yahtzee / Whatever?)
seems to offer more features than openyahtzee (e.g. multi player games,
special colour
coded variants, etc.)

Bug#501437: netatalk: SSL build fails: dpkg-genchanges cannot read files list file

2008-10-07 Thread Alexander Reichle-Schmehl
severity 501437 important
thanks

Hi!

 Package: netatalk
 Version: 2.0.3-11
 Severity: serious
Justification: no longer builds from source

Following instructions from README.Debian on building with SSL support
appears to fail at the moment:

 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/netatalk-2.0.3$ DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=ssl debuild

I don't think this an serious bug.

That's for two reasons:

1a) The package builds fine with the default options (just tested with an
uptodate pbuilder), so it is not an FTBFS bug per se.

1b) Even if the method described README.source would fail, I don't think
such bug would be of severity serious; the package still builds,
only the documentation is wrong.

2) I just tested to build the package as described in README.source. In
builded fine, I didn't had any problems, however I needed to manually
install libcrack2-dev; otherwise the build failed during configure
run.
(But again, that's an other issue, and still not RC since the
default build works. If you have further questions regarding this,
feel free to ask them, but I already deleted the buildlog, but
should be able to reproduce it. All I did was apt-get source from
sid, and running the above command.)

Yours sincerely,
  Alexander

Bug#500793: evince: Evince should have a back button

Hi!

It would be a nice feature, if evince could have a back button; when
following links, getting back to the place of the document where you
came eases navigating a document very much. Think for example about
footnotes or citations.

Yours sincerely,

Bug#421560: gem and libquicktime

2008-09-22 Thread Alexander Reichle-Schmehl
Hi peter!

peter green schrieb:
A NMU of gem was made by Alexander Reichle-Schmehl [EMAIL PROTECTED]
mailto:tolimar%40debian.org to fix the rc bugs 421560, 484190 and

depedency on a new upstream version of libquicktime which is blocking
 it's transition to testing.

IMO the most reasonable soloution would be for someone (I can't do it
because I'm not a dd) to reupload the NMU to testing proposed-updates.
 Does the release team agree.

Thanks for notifying! I just got the okay for the t-p-u upload via irc
and am preparing it right now.

So I don't think this bug is release critical.

Ideal fix would be fixing the whole debian/rules, but given the release time
we are it is not good idea make big changes in the package. I gould go for
 the
quick solution and keep the package how it is working currently...
Anyway, I guess this version of wxwidgets is meant to dissapear post lenny?

Did you see Matt Kraai fix for #489077? Seems to be the same Problem,
and his fix is a oneliner, just changing how the content of that
variable is generated.

Should work here, too.

Bug#467077: nmudiff for upload of heroes_0.21-8.1

2008-09-07 Thread Alexander Reichle-Schmehl
tags 467077 +patch
tags 467077 +pending
thanks

Hi Daniel!

I prepared an NMU fixing the above bug, which has been become RC
recently (I guess that's okay, to upload so fast; the fix is a one liner
and you are on the lownmu-list).

Problems seems to be, that the info pages are sometimes recreated.
Which fails, if makeinfo isn't installed (but doesn't throw an error,
but continues silently with an empty info page).

I fixed it by adding texinfo to the build-depends, which solves this
problem, but not that a failed build didn't throw an error.

Changes are in attachd in the file nmudiff-heroes-common.patch.

I took the liberty to fix some lintian warnings, too. The full changes
are in the patch completediff-heroes-common.patch

Best regards,
  Alexander

You don't need to join Debian. Just create a new package and ask on the
