Bug#591577: Problem fixed in Smb4K 1.0.x
Hello again! Smb4K 1.0.x fixes this problem. It comes with the translations of the KDE project and the build system correctly installs all translations. A fix to the 0.10.x branch is not planned. However, either renaming smb4k/po/pt/pt.po to smb4k/po/pt/smb4k.po in the source package or renaming the pt.mo file to smb4k.mo during installation (as the reporter already stated) will provide the portuguese users with the translation. Since we moved to Sourceforge due to the unclear future of BerliOS some months ago, the source code of the newest stable versions can be found at http://sourceforge.net/projects/smb4k/files/Smb4K%20%28stable%20releases%29/ Best regards Alexander -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#605872: Smb4K 1.0.x fixes this problem
This issue has been fixed in Smb4K's version 1.0.0 and later: It uses KDE's KAuth framework to mount and unmount shares, so there is no need for sudo anymore. Bug#574269: Smb4K 0.10.6 released
Hello! I just released Smb4K 0.10.6 that fixes the issue described in this bug report. Since cifs-utils 4.1 was uploaded to unstable today, Smb4K should work as expected. Please note that you now need to enable the use of super user privileges in the configuration dialog to be able to mount shares. Bug#574269: Fixes applied upstream
Hello! I applied some fixes to Smb4K 0.10 so that it is again possible to mount shares with it. However, the user now needs to be added to /etc/sudoers (via the Smb4K configuration dialog) to make it work. I hope, I'll be able to release Smb4K 0.10.6 this weekend the latest. Please note that with the current version of mount.cifs available in Debian the mount process of Smb4K will inevitably crash due to bug #574128. Until that one is not fixed in the package, you won't be able to mount shares. Bug#574269: smb4k serious issue wrt cifs
Hello Fathi, thank you for bringing this to my attention. I need some time to investigate this issue, check what options are available and modify the code accordingly. A quick check showed that using sudo and mount.cifs umount would work (you need no entry in /etc/fstab in this case), but this is not really a solution for users who cannot gain super user privileges to change /etc/sudoers. fusesmb seems to need a lot of configuration (I haven't used it until now). Maybe this is the way to go, but I'm a bit reluctant to implement support for it... Best regards Alexander Am Mittwoch, 17. März 2010 schrieb Fathi Boudra: Hi Alexander, The following bug has been reported: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=574269 The related changes was done on cifs-utils: cifs-utils (2:4.0-1) unstable; urgency=low * As of this version, the mount.cifs binary is no longer setuid due to upstream concerns about the audit status of this code. As a consequence, users will no longer be able to run mount.cifs directly to mount shares unless mount points have been individually configured in /etc/fstab with the user mount option. Sites that require their users to retain the ability to mount arbitrary CIFS shares without system-level configuration may want to consider using the fusesmb package instead. -- Steve Langasek vor...@debian.org Sun, 28 Feb 2010 16:07:14 -0800 It seems smb4k should migrate to fusesmb or maybe you have a better proposal ?
