Bug#877633: Acknowledgement (monit openssh-server config depends on a key which is not required to be there)
It gets even worse: With the failing dependency, monit stops the sshd until you log in manually and remove the config (or create the key). I think the hard dependencies are quite dangerous there. Alex .
Bug#877633: monit openssh-server config depends on a key which is not required to be there
Package: monit Version: monit openssh-server config depends on a key which is not required to be there Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, the monit openssh-server config includes a dependency for sshd on check file sshd_dsa_key with path /etc/ssh/ssh_host_dsa_key group sshd include /etc/monit/templates/rootstrict a fresh install from the debian stretch netinst medium creates keys for rsa, ecdsa and ed25519, but no dsa keys. I am not sure but this may be a security choice. Bug#870093: plasma-desktop: plasma launchers log all stdout and stderr into .xsession-errors
Package: plasma-desktop Version: 4:5.8.7.1-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, KDE plasma writes all stdout/stderr from programs launched in the plasmashell into .xsession-errors. This does not only create a huge logfile depending on the program, but is also a privacy risk for example when some browser extensions write debug output on the console containing urls or other sensitive information. I filed an upstream bug here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382351 possibly debian could implement some workaround until the problem is handled in upstream. with kind regards, Alexander Schier -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.11.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE= (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init) Versions of packages plasma-desktop depends on: ii breeze 4:5.8.5-2 ii kactivitymanagerd5.8.4-1 ii kde-cli-tools4:5.8.7-1 ii kded55.28.0-1 ii kio 5.28.0-2 ii libc62.24-12 ii libcanberra0 0.30-3 ii libfontconfig1 2.12.3-0.2 ii libgcc1 1:7.1.0-10 ii libkf5activities55.28.0-1 ii libkf5activitiesstats1 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5archive5 5.28.0-2 ii libkf5auth5 5.28.0-2 ii libkf5baloo5 5.28.0-2 ii libkf5bookmarks5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5codecs55.28.0-1+b2 ii libkf5completion55.28.0-1 ii libkf5configcore55.28.0-2 ii libkf5configgui5 5.28.0-2 ii libkf5configwidgets5 5.28.0-2 ii libkf5coreaddons55.28.0-2 ii libkf5dbusaddons55.28.0-1 ii libkf5emoticons-bin 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5emoticons5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5globalaccel5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5guiaddons5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5i18n5 5.28.0-2 ii libkf5iconthemes55.28.0-2 ii libkf5itemmodels55.28.0-2 ii libkf5itemviews5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5jobwidgets55.28.0-2 ii libkf5kcmutils5 5.28.0-2 ii libkf5kdelibs4support5 5.28.0-2 ii libkf5kiocore5 5.28.0-2 ii libkf5kiofilewidgets55.28.0-2 ii libkf5kiowidgets55.28.0-2 ii libkf5newstuff5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5notifications5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5notifyconfig5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5parts5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5people55.28.0-1 ii libkf5peoplewidgets5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5plasma55.28.0-2 ii libkf5plasmaquick5 5.28.0-2 ii libkf5quickaddons5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5runner55.28.0-1 ii libkf5service-bin5.28.0-1 ii libkf5service5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5solid5 5.28.0-4 ii libkf5sonnetui5 5.28.0-2+b1 ii libkf5wallet-bin 5.28.0-3 ii libkf5wallet55.28.0-3 ii libkf5widgetsaddons5 5.28.0-3 ii libkf5windowsystem5 5.28.0-2 ii libkf5xmlgui55.28.0-1 ii libkfontinst54:5.8.7.1-1 ii libkfontinstui5 4:5.8.7.1-1 ii libkworkspace5-5 4:5.8.7-1 ii libpackagekitqt5-0 0.9.6-1 ii libphonon4qt5-4 4:4.9.0-4 ii libpulse-mainloop-glib0 10.0-2 ii libpulse010.0-2 ii libqt5concurrent55.7.1+dfsg-4 ii libqt5core5a 5.7.1+dfsg-4 ii libqt5dbus5 5.7.1+dfsg-4 ii libqt5gui5 5.7.1+dfsg-4 ii libqt5network5 5.7.1+dfsg-4 ii libqt5printsupport5 5.7.1+dfsg-4 ii libqt5qml5 5.7.1-2+b2 ii libqt5quick5 5.7.1-2+b2 ii libqt5quickwidgets5 5.7.1-2+b2 ii libqt5sql5 5.7.1+dfsg-4 ii
Bug#868456: monit isn't reloaded when program binaries are updated
Package: monit Version: 5.20.0-3~bpo8+1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, monit in debian comes with a few default files for binaries, like nginx. The steps to restart it without killing the session are quite a bit of work: - switch to linux console - killall -9 kwin kwin_x11;sleep 3;DISPLAY=:0 kwin & exit - switch to the X-Server again - Sometimes you need to kill kwin again (focus on windows works again now) and restart it - Use systemsettings to re-enable compositing - Use kwin --replace to get a working instance again I am not sure what is causing the problems, but it happens too often as i would recommend including it in this version into a stable release. -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages kwin-x11 depends on: ii kwin-common 4:5.8.2-1+b1 ii libc6 2.24-9 ii libepoxy0 1.3.1-2 ii libgcc1 1:6.3.0-5 ii libkf5configcore5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5coreaddons5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5crash5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5i18n5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5windowsystem5 5.28.0-1 ii libkwinglutils9 4:5.8.2-1+b1 ii libkwinxrenderutils9 4:5.8.2-1+b1 ii libqt5core5a 5.7.1+dfsg-3+b1 ii libqt5gui55.7.1+dfsg-3+b1 ii libqt5widgets55.7.1+dfsg-3+b1 ii libqt5x11extras5 5.7.1~20161021-2 ii libstdc++66.3.0-5 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.4-3 ii libxcb-cursor00.1.1-3 ii libxcb-randr0 1.12-1 ii libxcb-xfixes01.12-1 ii libxcb1 1.12-1 ii libxi62:1.7.9-1 kwin-x11 recommends no packages. kwin-x11 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
Bug#854372: kwin-x11: kwin starts flickering the screen contents
Package: kwin-x11 Version: 4:5.8.2-1+b1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, with the nvidia driver (375.26-2) kwin sometimes starts flickering the screen contents, especially the content of semi-transparent windows starts flashing dark and bright until you stop compositing (shift-alt-f12 hotkey). Bug#854371: plasma-workspace: plasmashell freezes
Package: plasma-workspace Version: 4:5.8.4-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, plasmashell (especially the panel, but a restart of "plasmashell" helps) randomly freezes, probably related to using the non-free nvidia driver (version 375.26-2). While the task switcher (icons-only-taskmanager) and the menu keep working, you get black rectangles over the panel and the tray icons and clicking a tray icon activates another tray icon (shifted by 1 or more places). One of the most annoying problems is, that the clock plasmoid in the panel stops working. I would have said its "testing" software and lets wait for the next release, but when stretch is now freezing, i think its a 'serious' (release blocking) bug, even when i cannot name a section in the debian policy manual with kind regards, Alexander Schier -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages plasma-workspace depends on: ii dbus-x11 1.10.14-1 ii frameworkintegration 5.28.0-1 ii gdb-minimal [gdb]7.12-6 ii iso-codes3.74-1 ii kactivitymanagerd5.8.4-1 ii kde-cli-tools4:5.8.4-1 ii kded55.28.0-1 ii kinit5.28.0-1 ii kio 5.28.0-1 ii kpackagetool55.28.1-1 ii libc62.24-9 ii libcln6 1.3.4-2 ii libdbusmenu-qt5-20.9.3+16.04.20160218-1 ii libgcc1 1:6.3.0-5 ii libgps22 3.16-4 ii libice6 2:1.0.9-1+b1 ii libkf5activities55.28.0-1 ii libkf5auth5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5baloo5 5.28.0-2 ii libkf5bookmarks5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5calendarevents55.28.0-1 ii libkf5completion55.28.0-1 ii libkf5configcore55.28.0-1 ii libkf5configgui5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5configwidgets5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5coreaddons55.28.0-1 ii libkf5crash5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5dbusaddons55.28.0-1 ii libkf5declarative5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5globalaccel-bin5.28.0-1 ii libkf5globalaccel5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5guiaddons5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5holidays5 16.04.2-1 ii libkf5i18n5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5iconthemes55.28.0-1 ii libkf5idletime5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5itemviews5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5jobwidgets55.28.0-1 ii libkf5js55.28.0-1 ii libkf5jsembed5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5kdelibs4support5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5kiocore5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5kiofilewidgets55.28.0-1 ii libkf5kiowidgets55.28.0-1 ii libkf5networkmanagerqt6 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5newstuff5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5notifications5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5notifyconfig5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5package5 5.28.1-1 ii libkf5plasma55.28.0-1 ii libkf5plasmaquick5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5quickaddons5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5runner55.28.0-1 ii libkf5service-bin5.28.0-1 ii libkf5service5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5solid5 5.28.0-2 ii libkf5texteditor55.28.0-1 ii libkf5textwidgets5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5wallet-bin 5.28.0-3 ii libkf5wallet55.28.0-3 ii libkf5waylandclient5 4:5.28.0-1 ii libkf5widgetsaddons5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5windowsystem5 5.28.0-1 ii libkf5xmlgui55.28.0-1 ii libkf5xmlrpcclient5 5.28.0-1 ii libkscreenlocker55.8.4-1 ii libkscreenlocker55.8.4-1 ii libksgrd74:5.8.4-1 ii libkworkspace5-5 4:5.8.4-1 ii libphonon4

Bug#646924: duplicity regression, mkdir on pathelements on scp locations
I cannot really reproduce it, because i had some testing package on the system and i am back to stable and cannot break the system now again. But i noticed that the duplicity from testing had this misbehaviour and thought i should report it before the package comes in the next stable with this bug. I just can say, that the same URI works with the debian stable duplicity and had errors because of no permission on the parent folders with the duplicity from debian testing. Bug#646924: duplicity regression, mkdir on pathelements on scp locations
Package: duplicity Version: 0.6.15-3 Severity: normal while the debian stable version (0.6.08b-1+b1) works just fine, the current testing version has a problem, because it tries to mkdir folders on scp-location, where it does not have the privileges. when my backup-path is scp://user@host/users/username/backup/, it tries to "mkdir users", which fails, because this folder exists and does not belong to "user" but to root. Additional the error-message is misleading, because it says "wrong SSH passphrase", while you can see with -v6 switch, that the mkdir fails, not the sftp command. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.2 APT prefers stable APT policy: (900, 'stable'), (100, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
