Bug#1042376: Will this bug ever been fixed?
Will this bug ever been fixed? 7 of 11 machines here are fast enough for digikam, but they all are exiting with "Illegal Instruction". I guess it doesn't care if SSE4 is enabled or not, but older hardware could be upcycled without that. With best regards, Andreas

Bug#876523: plasma-workspace: Processes hanging when plasma_waitforname is called in the background
Package: plasma-workspace Version: 5.10.5-2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, this bug arises about 2 weeks ago with an update of Debian Sid. I found out that processes are always hanging for about a minute if plasma_waitforname is called in the background. Therefore my system spotty is very, very slow. That happens for example at : Starting the system after graphical logging (3 minutes instead of 10 seconds) Starting opera (1 minute instead of 2 seconds) Starting digikam (1 minute instead of 2 seconds) Saving an image with digikam (30 seconds instead of 1 second) Importing pictures from the camera with digikam Deleting an event with recurrence in korganizer Opening a printer dialog in okular If doing (sometimes multiple) a "killall plasma_waitforname" processes continue immediately. I removed plasma-workspace and have a speedy system again. Please don't wonder about the last step. I'm using XFCE and some KDE applications. For test purposes I started Plasma and LXDE. The problem there exists too. Since libreoffice-gtk3 5.2.1-3 the duration for the action above is about 3s now. Without libreoffice-gtk3 installed it is immediatly. Regards, Andreas

It took me a long time to realize it is a libreoffice-xfce problem. I searched the internet up and down and couldn't find any hint. How shall I convince others, especially my wife and daughter, to use libreoffice instead of Microsoft Office if they tell me they don't like it, because it is slow? What is my suggestion? I assume there is some kind of mechanism of libreoffice to detect the environment it is running in. Package: libreoffice-gtk3 Version: 1:5.2.0-2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, this problem only occurs with libreoffice-gtk3 installed and XFCE4. The speed is normal when using KDE, it is normal too with XFCE4 and libreoffice-gtk3 deinstalled. It is reproducible. Install libreoffice-gtk3, start xfce, start libreoffice. Open an empty writer or calc document, it doesn't care. Very impessively is selecting one cell in the empty calc document. Press the right mouse button, then select Format cells. Bug#710016: ltsp-server: No sound on some clients (solved)
Package: ltsp-server Version: 5.4.2-6 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, On some clients there is no sound output with players such as cvlc, vlc or kaffeine. The programs are starting and then hanging. Other clients are doing their job faultless. No problem on all clients with mpg321. cvlc -v says "pulse audio output error: overflow, flushing" pulseaudio -vvv started locally at the client in a root shell is filling syslog with "Processing rewind..." messages. Solution / Workaround : Setting the option default-sample-rate = 48000 in the config file /opt/ltsp/i386/etc/pulse/daemon.conf works for me. Don't know if it is a good idea to do that, because I don't understand the working of the sound system in detail. The sound problem did annoying me more than a year. Package: ltsp-server Version: 5.4.1-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, since a month ago, ltsp had been working for me fine for several years. With an update of Debian Sid I get this problem first time, if any of the users on the clients tries to login with ldm. "Keine Antwort des Server. Neustart ..." (translates to "server not responding. restart ...") Although this bug seems to exist since years, I couldn't find a solution for me, despite of extensively researching the internet. Nobody seems to understand the problem. I found out a way to avoid the above, but it's not practically : Make a root account in the chroot environment. Do a login as root on a client console. + + F1 Make a ssh connection to the server. [client$] ssh server Switch back to ldm. + F7 Login as user with ldm works now as it should as long, as the client machine is not rebooted. I hope this helps one of the developers to solve that bug. Clicking once to C3010, then clicking to button leads to an endless loop. The transfer status window rises up, the transfer indicator is toggling, but nothing happens. Know this is not a serious problem, but takes me 2 hours to find it out, it's a confusingly feature. Bug#493572: DualHead-Configuration: window decorations and title bars are absent on second monitor
Hello, there is a very strange behavior with kwin 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-5. After ~/.kde/share/config/ksmserverrc is created the first time, there are no window decorations and title bars, only at the second monitor, of a DualHead configuration. At the first monitor all works fine. The problem does not exist with Xinerama, only with 2ndView. My graphics card is a Matrox G450. Workaround: program1=kwin program2=kwin Killing all that lines above in ksmserverrc before starting KDE helps. All is working fine. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
