Bug#326184: libsysfs pacakge misses header file and .so symlink

2005-09-02 Thread Andreas Loeffler

Package: libsysfs1
Status: install ok installed
Priority: extra
Section: libs
Installed-Size: 92
Maintainer: Martin Pitt [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Architecture: i386
Source: sysfsutils
Version: 1.3.0-2

---

During compile of the pcmciautils-008 code i noticed that the libsysfs
package seems incomplete. i miss a so symlink and the header files.
creating the symlink and copying header files from the
[sysfsutils_1.3.0.orig.tar.gz] tarball solves my problem.

missing symlink libsysfs.so
ll libsysfs.*
   13 2005-09-02 09:59 libsysfs.so - libsysfs.so.1 MISSING
   17 2005-08-24 00:09 libsysfs.so.1 - libsysfs.so.1.0.3
45500 2005-06-28 23:21 libsysfs.so.1.0.3

missing header files under /usr/include/sysfs:
$ll /usr/include/sysfs/
total 20

 Hi Andreas!

The libsysfs1 package is only supposed to contain the library to be
used as a runtime dependency for packages using it.

You need to build-depend (or install) on libsysfs-dev, which contains
the libsysfs.so symlink and the header files.

 Thanks,

 Martin
ouch ... that make sense indeed
