Thanks for the help. Hi, i was having trouble finding a sponsor as the sponsor i had was having health issues (I'm only dm, not dd). This software seems to have died upstream, but a fork is in progress so switching upstream sources might be in order. I'll have a look at it next week. Bug#944011: locales: Other Scandinavian languages should not be fallback language for Norwegian
Package: locales Version: 2.28-10 Severity: minor Tags: l10n If installing Debian choosing Norwegian Bokmål as your system language the other Scandinavian langiages are defined as fallback languages if translations are missing: LANGUAGE="nb_NO:nb:no_NO:no:nn_NO:nn:da:sv:en" Allthough very similar the other scandinavian languages are not suited as fallbacks for technical texts. I usually have to prepend LANG=C to whichever command I am running in these cases in order to understand the exact details of the messages. I suggest removing "da" and "sv" from the above string. Bug#875176: [scantailor] Future Qt4 removal from Buster
The package for scantailor-advanced is almost done. Since I'm only a DM I'd need a sponsor for the first upload and (hopefully) someone to grant me upload privileges for later revisions. I'll wait for the next upstream release before pushing for a upload. I have currently packaged for a pre-release. Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Andreas Noteng * Package name: scantailor-advanced Version : 1.0.17~2019.08.16-1 Upstream Author : 4lex4 <4le...@zoho.com> * URL : https://github.com/4lex4/scantailor-advanced/ * License : GPL3+ Programming Lang: C++ Description : Interactive post-processing tool for scanned pages Scan Tailor is an interactive post-processing tool for scanned pages. It performs operations such as page splitting, deskewing, adding/removing borders, and others. You give it raw scans, and you get pages ready to be printed or assembled into a PDF or DJVU file. Scanning, optical character recognition, and assembling multi-page documents are out of scope of this project. The current scantailor package in Debain is removed from stable and testing due to it blocking QT4-removal (#875176). The project is not dead upstream, but development is going slow. Scantailor Advanced is a fork that uses QT5, and also includes some extended features.

Bug#897088: transgui: new upstream home / new release
Dear Graham, I am aware of the fork, and I have previously considered switching upstream sources. Last time I checked the fork was developed by people not using Linux, and Linux testing was hardly done. Also, they never asked the original developer for permisission to continue development under the same name. Mr. Sidorov (the original author) has not abandoned the project, but states a lack of time. He has been responsive fixing bugs in Debian that I have contacted him about. This would have been so much easier if the fork continued development under a new name, then we could have both in Debian. It looks like there are more developers for the fork now, so maybe it is worth looking into it again. I had some problems finding a sponsor and forgot about the package after a while. I now have a sponsor willing to upload the package. Bug#767567: bashburn: fails to upgrade from squeeze - trying to overwrite /usr/share/man/man1/bashburn.1.gz

Mybashburn was removed and has not existed in Debian since Squeeze. These are not the same packages, but mybashburn is a fork from bashburn which has since died upstream. Since mybashburn was removed I see no harm in including a "replaces: mybashburn" in the bashburn package. I consider this change very low importance. Do you guys still think I should release a new stable revision? If so, a sponsorship or upload permissions for the package (I'm a dm) would be greatly appreciated. I will update the package to the latest upstream version in testing. Bug#666726: debian-policy: Clarify if empty control fields are ollowed or not
Package: debian-policy Severity: minor The policy does not clearly state if empty control fields in debian/control are allowed or not. dpkg accepts te use of empty fields, apt does not. IMHO empty control fields are bad practice, and should explicitly not be allowed. I've checked the policy, and as you say; it isn't clear. IMHO this is a bug in the policy, or in apt. I get the feeling that the intention is that control fields should not be empty, and if so, this is a checkinstall bug. Could you please provide me with a step by step way to recreate such a package, and I'll forward it upstream (even if it turns out empty fields are allowed and should be tolerated by apt; it is, in my opinion, bad practice to include them) Regards Andreas Noteng signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

I'm close (or at least I think so). Upstream is very responsive fixing stuff my sponsor is unhappy with. Bug#653777: transgui: Systray icon background inconsistent in Gnome Classic
I can confirm your findings, but I'm unable to figure out where the non-transparent icon comes from. the difference between my package and the one from transgui is that I convert the .ico file from the orig.tar.gz to .xpm, to comply with the debian policy. However, I've checked, and the resulting xpm has a transparent background. I'll investigate further.. As far as I can see, only tlslite imports Crypto. Tlslite seems to be already packaged for debian, but it seems to have been stuck in the new queue for more than four months now [1]. Anything we can do to rush that? I have removed oauth from gdata, and it seems to work, I'll commit it once I know for sure. Bug#586505: ITP: python-easygui - A module for very simple, very easy GUI programming in Python
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist EasyGUI is a module for very simple, very easy GUI programming in Python. Experienced Pythonistas need support for quick and dirty GUI features. New Python programmers need GUI capabilities that don't require any knowledge of Tkinter, frames, widgets, callbacks or lambda. This is what EasyGUI provides. Using EasyGUI, all GUI interactions are invoked by simple function calls. EasyGUI is different from other GUIs in that EasyGUI is NOT event-driven. It allows you to program in a traditional linear fashion, and to put up dialogs for simple input and output when you need to. If you have not yet learned the event-driven paradigm for GUI programming, EasyGUI will allow you to be productive with very basic tasks immediately. Later, if you wish to make the transition to an event-driven GUI paradigm, you can do so with a more powerful GUI package such as anygui, PythonCard, Tkinter, wxPython, etc. EasyGUI is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 License My package is available here: http://www.noteng.no/deb/python-easygui/ -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAkwdvDgACgkQc3gI15Pmn++t6wCgimfDSTDAvNcYQ0piYsniGdj5 DRQAni2GiWwE4/gFqMM/A0PY3DMYquav =xwnH -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
