Thanks for looking at it so quickly

I'm not sure where I would find this to check, and a quick internet
search hasn't helped

>
> You may try installing gnome-icon-theme.

On checking this was already installed, however there are 4 others that
have gnome-icon-theme in the package title that are not
gnome-icon-theme-gartoon
gnome-icon-theme-nuovo
gnome-icon-theme-suede
gnome-icon-theme-yasis

However, this did give me a clue. Settings Manager > Appearance -- Icons

I was on Oxygen, if I change to a Gnome- icon, I think all of them work
apart from the GNOME (Default GNOME THEME) which is a little strange. It
appears others don't

including

Tango
nuoveXT.2.2
MATE
HighContrast
elementary Xubuntu dark
ContrastHigh
Breeze Dark
Breeze
Adwaita

Not sure how this should be reported as a bug, shouldn't the icon
default to something rather than nothing if something isn't found (I
hope that makes sense, I could not find a clearer way to wrote it

thanks

Andrew

Bug#906681: snapd: FreeCAD comes up with squares instead of text

2018-08-19 Thread Andrew Atkinson
Package: snapd
Version: 2.30-5+b1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

After installing FreeCAD the text is not readable, see attached

I have also installed this snap on Ubuntu and it works fine, so feel that this
might be a debian problem. The rest of the functionality seems to be fine,
although it is difficult to tell when no text to run the software.

When running from terminal this is the output that is given

Bug#904030: clipit: Copy/Paste is not working

2018-08-16 Thread Andrew Atkinson
Package: clipit
Version: 1.4.4-2
Followup-For: Bug #904030

Dear Maintainer,

I had to move to Gnome classic due to xfce4 not working, to find that copy was
not working. Both from the mouse and use of ctrl-c

ctrl-x seems to work but nothing is stored to past again either from the mouse
or ctrl-v.

Unistalling clipit and the fuctions return to normal.

Trying to run clipit from the terminal gives the attached error (sorry it is a
screen shot as copy and paste do not work)

Bug#784641: mesa-utils: Shows gears but they are static and no frame rate

2015-05-07 Thread Andrew Atkinson
do you mean xorg.config, if so this does not exist, noticed a couple of
years ago due to another bug, tried to follow

https://wiki.debian.org/Xorg

But that did not work, was not causing any real problems, so ignored it.
glxgears was working both before and after, stopped on some update, but
I did not notice which one

log attached

thanks

 Dear Maintainer,

From terminal ran glxgears, which shows static gears, no motion and no frame

Survex, but this is as far as my trouble shooting skills go

Please provide your full X config and logs.

This suggests it's a problem with OpenGL support, rather than bugs in
 survex-aven and therion-viewer as such.

 What changed?

Resonably sure it was OpenGL being fixed, the same bug seemed to happen
to aven (bug#769917) glxgears was static. Something fixed that and both
aven and loch started working again

New version of therion? Different computer? Upgraded other packages
(jessie?)

Don't think Therion changed, same computer, Yes I did an upgrade
packages in Jessie.

It would be good to have what it does/doesn't work for included in

Aven works fine for me, so a bug which has a major effect on the

Woops, yes re-reading them all that makes more sense, I was just
thinking that it made it unusable to al users on this system, not
thinking globally

Since it works for me and therion does the same (#744793), I suspect
it's an issue with your OpenGL setup. Were either aven or therion's
viewer working on this machine in a previous version?

yes it has been working, probably with this version of survex, I did an
update of Debian last week, probably Tuesday, this was probably the
first time I did used aven since that update

Can you try installing mesa-utils and seeing if glxgears works?
This is a simple opengl demo program, which should display a 3D
animation of some rotating cogs. If that fails, the problem isn't with
aven or therion, but at a lower level.

glxgears, and the others that are in there all work

Bug#744787: survex-aven: sometimes works

2014-04-15 Thread Andrew Atkinson
It appears that if I run aven (or loch) before I open Thunar 1.6.3 it
works fine!!! It might just be luck, but I have tried restarting a few
times, and after Thunar, it is scrambled, before it is fine. Once it is
fine, opening Thunar does not make Aven break, it might be random, and
restarting is very tedious, so difficult to conclusively test.

I will update if I find something different
