Package: golang
Version: 1:58.1-1
Severity: important
There are some files missing from the golang-tools package that prevent
godoc from launching.
$ godoc archive/zip
2011/07/15 12:44:17 ReadFile /usr/lib/go/lib/godoc/codewalk.html: open
/usr/lib/go/lib/godoc/codewalk.html: no such file or directory
My suggested fix is to include the files from $GOROOT/lib/godoc in the
golang-tools package, so that they are available at /usr/lib/go/lib/godoc.
This would enable users to both use godoc on the command line
(godoc package), and to use the web interface (godoc -http=:8080)
locally.
Godoc is an essential tool for any Go programmer.
This is a major problem that can be easily fixed.
I am one of the Go project (and godoc) maintainers.
If the packager needs my assistance I am happy to help.
