Bug#1014226: libzbargtk0: Please enable the GIR Gtk widget

2022-07-02 Thread Pier Angelo Vendrame
Package: libzbargtk0
Version: 0.23.92-4+b2
Severity: wishlist
X-Debbugs-Cc: vogliadifarnie...@gmail.com

Dear Maintainer,

I would like you to enable Zbar's Python GIR Gtk widget.
It is done automatically when the build environment contains
libgirepository1.0-dev and gobject-introspection.

Debian used to include python-zbargtk, which was a Python 2, GTK 2
implementation of the Zbar widget.
For Python 3, Zbar includes a GIR-based widget, which can will be loaded by the
gi module when it finds ZBar-1.0.gir and ZBar-1.0.typelib in the system (which
are generated by the aformentioned libraries).
>From my tests, libzbargtk0 will not require any additional dependencies. (I
could use the GIR files I generated with the libzbargtk0.so provided in the
Debian repositories).

Thank you very much,
Pier Angelo Vendrame

Bug#884846: xserver-xorg-video-radeon: xrandr hang on resolution setup after xorg has been started

2017-12-20 Thread Angelo Dureghello
Package: xserver-xorg-video-radeon
Version: 1:7.8.0-1+b1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

In xserver-xorg-video-radeon v.1.7.10.0-1 i am observing the following issue:

after xorg has been started, and openbox-session is called, xrandr seems to
hang leaving interface with mouse pointer only, but not usable.

The line causing the issue is :
(sleep 1s && xrandr --output VGA-0 --off --output DVI-0 --primary --mode
2560x1440 --output HDMI-0 --mode 1920x1080 --right-of DVI-0) &

If i roll back to v.1.7.8.0.1+b1 version all works fine as usual and expected.

Issue raised after the dist-upgrate at today.

Bug#762863: when using systemd laptop-mode-tools causes read-only root and system is unusable

2014-09-26 Thread Pier Angelo Vendrame

Package: laptop-mode-tools
Version: 1.65-2

Hi,
I have the same problem.
I've tried with kernels 3.14-2-amd64, 3.16-1-amd64, 3.16-2-amd64, and
all of them have the same problem, which is related just to
laptop-mode-tools. Indeed when I set ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE_TOOLS=0 in
/etc/laptop-mode/laptop-mode.conf I have no problems.

Actually the problem is that the root isn't remounted: I've tried to
pass rw to the kernel command line instead ro, and there aren't problems.
mount -o remount / from root in tty solves the problem, too, however
services like gdm3, network-manager and apache2 need to be restarted in
this case (with rw everything is ok).

My computer is an ASUS N550 with Debian Sid.
Another laptop (HP 15D002), with Debian Jessie (same laptop-mode-tools
version, but udev 208-8) hasn't problems.

Thanks
Piero

Bug#762863: when using systemd laptop-mode-tools causes read-only root and system is unusable

2014-09-26 Thread Pier Angelo Vendrame

Hi,
I debootstrapped a new Jessie installation. It hasn't problems on my
ASUS N550 (like the other notebook).

Then I upgraded to Sid and it has problems.
I haven't changes any configuration file (except hdparm.conf, becuse of
annoying Seagate APM feature, locales and keyboard).

I'm going to try with sysv init system.

Hello there, this is related to bug #600992 (now closed).
After the fix to that bug this kernel allows migration but as the live
migration completes (without error on
the dom0) the domU spits the following stack trace:

Bug#571251: posted in the kernel bug tracking

2010-05-14 Thread angelo

Hi Ben and Mortiz,

sorry. I have seen on the net that some distributions of k/ubuntu seems
to run fine in this PC. So i thought there must me some kernel/grub
problem in my system. I did some tests changing kernels, updating grub,
and other tests. Nothing good still. So i reported the bug in the kernel
bug tracking, as you suggested.

Many thanks
Angelo

There were some bug fixes/workarounds in ACPI support in Linux 2.6.33
which might be relevant. Please test this patch against package version
2.6.32-10, following the instructions at
http://kernel-handbook.alioth.debian.org/ch-common-tasks.html#s-common-official.

Ben.

Yes it does. But I do not experience ACPI slowness, I don't remember since
which version.

Bug#480637: linux-image-amd64 - waiting for root filesystem

2008-05-13 Thread Angelo Puglisi
rootdelay has no effect.

The next-to-last message is waiting for root filesystem, the last message
is something about usb...
After that the system hangs.

I tried using sda instead of hda and it works!

Maybe it would be better to use uuid to avoid these problems.
Some time ago I heard about hda to sda rename but I hadn't thought about
that ^_^'

Sorry for wasting your time.

how about if you'd report the failure of it?!

  I attacched new diff file.
  I did:

just looks fine and pretty sure that this initramfs contrare to your

The old initramfs was created by yaird and is the little one.
The new initramfs was created by initramfs-tools but it still don't work.
Waiting for root filesystem is the failure of last initramfs. The failure of
yaird made initramfs is lots of lines of:
/sys/block/hda/dev: No such file or directory
and after that a kernel panic.
It's obvious that I do not have logs because of the disk is not found.

Here the output of ls -l /boot as you asked:

Bug#480637: linux-image-amd64 - waiting for root filesystem

2008-05-11 Thread Angelo Puglisi
Package: linux-image-amd64
Version: 2.6.24+13

All testing kernels do not start in my notebook. With a little investigation
I found out that initrd is very little compared to etch one:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 7068594 10 mag 23:16 initrd.img-2.6.18-6-amd64
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1344638 10 mag 22:30 initrd.img-2.6.24-1-amd64

I tried using both yaird 0.0.12-25 and initramfs-tools 0.92a and the result
is similar.

I attached diff between initramfs of etch kernel and lenny kernel.

Bug#138644: [0]: Super Health with Super Antiox GSE! 1 Free Bottle

2008-03-14 Thread Angelo
How would you like to try a FREE bottle of the most powerful antioxidant on
earth?

Super Antiox GSE#8482; has been formulated by a leading authority in nutrition
and supplementation and fortified with Grape Seed Extract! Read the
imformation below to see the true value antioxidants provide the body,
then send for your free bottle!

To get your FREE bottle go to http://www.getsuperantiox.com and get 1 FREE
bottle of Super Antiox GSE#8482;

Antioxidants

Emerging science suggests that unstable little
molecules called free radicals may be linked to disease.

Where do they come from? Everywhere. Not only
does your body produce them as part of normal
metabolism but there are also many external sources
such as air pollution, alcohol, pesticides, sunlight,
tobacco smoke, drugs, and even fried foods.

Antioxidants like those found in POM Wonderful
Pomegranate Juice fight hard to help prevent free
radicals from doing their damage

Grape Seed Extract
It is beneficial in treating degenerative and deteriorating diseases because of
the
potent antioxidant qualities it has. Some expensive supplements, derived from
pine bark,
contain 85% proanthocyanidin while grapeseed extract contains 95%
proanthocyanidin.

It helps increase the effectiveness of vitamin C by acting as a carrier and as
a restorer of
oxidized vitamin C by working with glutathione. These nutrients belong to the
flavonoid family.
The action of this nutrient is to act as an antioxidant and stabilize collagen
and elastin - both
important proteins in connective tissues, as well as blood vessels and muscles.

Although they are not essential nutrients to the body they do have a part to
play in achieving optimum health.

These nutrients are water-soluble and free of side effects since excess is
simply excreted in the urine.
Another positive effect of these flavonoids in the body is the sparing of
consumption of vitamin C.

PCO help with increasing intra cellular vitamin C levels, decreasing capillary
permeability and fragility, scavenges
oxidants and free radicals and uniquely binds to collagen in order to protect
it from destruction.

Free radicals
These nutrients are also helpful as anti-inflammatory, antihistamines, and
anti-allergens and are very effective
free radical scavengers. They possess up to 50 times stronger antioxidant
activity than those of vitamin C and E,
Beta Carotene or Selenium.

They are great to promote tissue elasticity, healing injuries, reducing
swelling, edema, as well as improving circulation.

With all of these properties it is clear to see that it is great for anti-aging
and anti-disease treatment. Daily intake of these
nutrients, as well as other antioxidants, will help with preventing premature
aging, diseases and decay.

It has also been reported that it is helpful in fighting varicose veins as well
as high blood pressure and diabetes. In certain
individuals vision improved as well as general well-being.

Bug#410019: SSLMutex expects /var/run/apache2 to be preserved

2007-02-06 Thread Angelo Bertolli
Package: apache2
Version: 2.0.54-5sarge1
Severity: normal

According to the FHS, anything in /var/run can be wiped out between
boots. The FHS isn't clear about whether or not this applies to
directories in /var/run or just files, but I suspect both.

When doing a migration, apache2 would not start because /var/run/apache2
was missing from the destination. Specifically, the ssl mod expects
this:

/etc/apache2/mods-available/ssl.conf:
SSLMutex file:/var/run/apache2/ssl_mutex

Bug#356172: kernel 2.6.15 for 686 can't mount root fs

2006-03-09 Thread Angelo Bertolli

Package: kernel-image-2.6.15-686
(related packages: initramfs-tools)

Severity: critical

I've tried to submit this bug report using reportbug twice, but I have
a feeling it didn't go through since I didn't get a confirmation. But
I'm hoping my report will help someone solve the IDE mess, so here goes...

Hardware: Compaq Armada M700 laptop
:00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 440BX/ZX/DX - 82443BX/ZX/DX
Host bridge (rev 03)
:00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 440BX/ZX/DX - 82443BX/ZX/DX
AGP bridge (rev 03)

:00:07.1 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 IDE
(rev 01)
:00:07.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 USB

:00:07.3 Bridge: Intel Corporation 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 ACPI (rev 03)

:00:09.1 Serial controller: Agere Systems LT WinModem
:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Rage
Mobility P/M AGP 2x (rev 64)

Whenever I install kernel-image-2.6.15-686 (also with -486), the kernel
will not boot. My old kernel (2.6.12) still works, until I either
install splashy or reinstall that kernel (2.6.12). (So I suspect it has
something to do with initramfs-tools.) Also, this problem is not
apparent on my desktop, so it's hardware related.

It seems to not be able to find the gzip module on startup. I wrote
down the errors since all I get is BusyBox when I boot:

... some hardware detection stuff here ...
Begin: Mounting root filesystem ...
Begin: Running /scripts/local-top ...
Done.
Begin: Running /scripts/local-premount
Attempting manual resume
Done.
FATAL: Module gzip not found
mount: Mounting /dev/hda3 on /root failed: No such device

Afterwards I'm able to mount my root fs by hand (mount -t ext3), use
chroot, and run the init.d scripts to get things running at least to a
certain point. However, if I try to mount the root fs without the -t
ext3 part, it won't mount properly.

I'm sure someone else understands better than me what's going on here.
So, if there's any other information I can provide, let me know. For
now, I'm using 2.6.12

Angelo

Jeremy Franklin

Due to mounting concern on the part of friends and the media, in December 2004
I switched my birth control from the Depo Provera shot to the Ortho Evra patch.
While I was initially concerned that I might have been adversely affected by
over 8 years of the shot depleting my calcium and estrogen, I found a more
immediate concern when a week after starting the patch the doctor who gave my
yearly exam found a lump. A cyst. She said it was likely caused by the influx
of estrogen from the patch. But I had to come back for a follow up around
Valentines Day. Fine, I'd rather get it dealt with than stew over what caused
it. The doctor I saw last night (different every time at a public health
clinic) didn't seem to understand why I was there. I told him what happened in
December and that I was told to come back. He finally found the report in my
file. Apparently there were actually two lumps but only one had been blacked
out on the crude diagram of my breasts. When he felt around not only did he
find another lump in my left breast, but he told me cysts were normal. In fact,
he said the lump I had been searching for on the armpit side of my right breast
was probably just fibrous tissue. 3
