Bug#693637: 693...@bugs.debian.org

2014-01-26 Thread Anton Balashov
Looks like this is modified version of q3map2 for Quake. Thus, probably
it's not a good way to package with the same name.
From other side, q3map2 for xonotic is not distributed separately from
xonotic source (it's in
http://dl.xonotic.org/xonotic-0.7.0-mappingsupport.zip) and looks like
it must be compiled within whole xonotic repository
(xonotic/netradiant.git).
Therefore, maybe q3map2 should be a part of other xonotic package.

Bug#720370: lintian: [new check] check for missing menu and desktop files for games

2013-08-20 Thread Anton Balashov
Package: lintian
Version: 2.5.10.4
Severity: wishlist

Hello.

Debian Games Team wants to request a new lintian check.
The main idea of the check is warn when menu and desktop files for games
executors are missing.
According to Debian Policy (section 9.6): "All packages that provide
applications that need not be passed any special command line arguments for
normal operation should register a menu entry for those applications, so that
users of the menu package will automatically get menu entries in their window
managers..."
We also plan to add these menu and desktop files requirements to our wiki [1].
By the new lintian check, we will be able to find all games packages which
don't have menu and desktop files and will predict the missing in future.

We think we can use next algorithm for the check:
1. Packages with section == Games
2. All /usr/games/* and /usr/bin are linked by menu and desktop files. Use
lintian overrides in special cases.

Warn rank: info.

There is another bug about missing menu files: 367466

Bug#717348: ITP: curseofwar -- Fast-paced action strategy game for Linuxbased on ncurses

2013-07-19 Thread Anton Balashov
Package: wnpp
Owner: Anton Balashov
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: curseofwar
  Version : 1.1.4
  Upstream Author : Alexey Nikolaev
* URL : https://github.com/a-nikolaev/curseofwar/wiki
  PPA :
https://launchpad.net/~curseofwar/+archive/curseofwar-stable
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : This is a fast-paced action strategy game for Linux
implemented using ncurses user interface.

Unlike most RTS, you are not controlling units, but focus on high-level
strategic planning: Building infrastructure, securing resources, and moving
your armies.

The core game mechanics turns out to be quite close to WWI-WWII type of
warfare, however, there is no explicit reference to any historical period.

The game has a multiplayer mode

Bug#706978: pkg r8168-dkms has upstream issue

2013-05-06 Thread Anton Balashov
I have this ethernet card and tryed this patch on official driver (
http://www.realtek.com/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=13&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3)
with description "LINUX driver for kernel 3.x and 2.6.x and 2.4.x"

If add to r8168_n.c
#if LINUX_VERSION_CODE >= KERNEL_VERSION(3,8,0)
#define __devinit
#define __devexit_p(x) x
#endif
then the code still don't want to be compiled with errors in attachment
(first.log)

But if add one more line then it compiles, can be installed and works on my
PC:

#if LINUX_VERSION_CODE >= KERNEL_VERSION(3,8,0)
#define __devinit
#define __devexit
#define __devexit_p(x) x
#endif

Commit on kernel.org about remove this constats:
https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=63a29f744fe1c19742039ce7526663a98f172f7e

I added Realtek NIC software team to this thread.

Should I do something else?
