Bug#974998: calamares: SegFault when clicked on "Create" in manual partitioning
Package: calamares Version: 3.2.4-3 Severity: normal Tags: d-i Hello! I am installing Debian 10.6.0 using debian-live-10.6.0-amd64-xfce+nonfree.iso. I noticed that in manual partitioning if we click on "Create", the Debian installer segfaults if no free space available or free space available but entry not selected. Steps to reproduce: 1. Click "Next" till "Partitions" step 2. Select "Manual partitioning" 3. Select "New Partition Table" > "GPT" 4. "Free Space" entry appears and "Create" button is disabled as expected since the free space entry is not selected 5. Now, select "Free Space" entry 6. Click "Create" and then "OK" 7. "New partition" entry appears with no free space available 8. Now click "Create" and the installer will crash with segfault This bug can also be triggered by creating a small partition thus leaving the "Free space" but then not selecting the "Free space" entry and then clicking "Create" button. The solution would be to disable "Create" button if no "Free space" available or "Free space" available but entry not selected. Here's the log: https://pastebin.com/raw/N2CskhDG Thanks!
Bug#971266: calamares: Debian fails to start when /home is encrypted during installation
Package: calamares Severity: normal Tags: d-i Hello! I installed Debian 10.6.0 using debian-live-10.6.0-amd64-xfce+nonfree.iso. While installing I created new partition table of type GPT. While creating partitions I chose "encrypt" for /home and supplied the passphrase. Then after installation when the system rebooted, Debian failed to start. It shows error "Failed to start Cryptography setup for luks-*". screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/RMfvz6P.jpg journalctl -xb shows error "systemd-cryptseup: Failed to open key file" followed by "systemd-cryptseup: Failed to activate with key file '/crypto_keyfile.bin': Invalid argument" screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/C8hr5fe.jpeg $ cat /etc/crypttab # luks-f5a29dc6-60bd-4af3-9eec-79bd4442f4a8 UUID=f5a29dc6-60bd-4af3-9eec-79bd4442f4a8 /crypto_keyfile.bin luks,keyscript=/bin/cat $ Setting field to "none" and removing "keyscript=/bin/cat" from field fixes the issue. I could reproduce this with 10.6.0-live as well as 10.5.0-live. Thanks!

I gotta say that this makes for a confusing experience. Why to drop "debian-" from the listname? If listname is debian-foo then the list is debian-foo. Why to show "foo" in listname choices instead of the real name "debian-foo"? Regards, Avinash Sonawane (rootKea) PICT Pune https://rootkea.wordpress.com

Bug#929837: libgdk-pixbuf2.0-dev: Memory leak viewing animated gif
Package: libgdk-pixbuf2.0-dev Version: 2.36.5-2+deb9u2 Severity: important Hello! When animated gif(in this case, size 18M) is tried to be viewed, libgdk-pixbuf leaks memory and consumes >1.87G of memory. This bug can be reproduced either by using any of the image viewers using libgdk-pixbuf (e.g. eog, ristretto) and/or by writing small code snippet using the lib. Steps to reproduce: 1. Download the sample gif wget -c https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mathieudutour/medium-to-own- blog/master/docs/screencast.gif 2. Now to reproduce either open the downloaded gif with eog/ristretto or use this small code snippet: https://gist.github.com/mertyildiran/f2a0746fbdbce728911854a2f038ee22 3. If you are using the code snippet then please put the proper image path in line 43. and compile as: $ gcc gtk-gif.c $(pkg-config --cflags --libs gtk+-2.0) -o gtk-gif and then execute gtk-gif top o/p from sample run: PID USER PR NIVIRTRESSHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 31584 rootkea 20 0 2121372 1.875g 17340 R 13.9 50.3 0:36.04 gtk-gif Thanks! -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.9 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-debug'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-9-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_IN.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_IN.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_IN:en (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages libgdk-pixbuf2.0-dev depends on: ii gir1.2-gdkpixbuf-2.0 2.36.5-2+deb9u2 ii libc6 2.24-11+deb9u4 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-02.36.5-2+deb9u2 ii libglib2.0-0 2.50.3-2 ii libglib2.0-dev2.50.3-2 ii libpng-dev1.6.28-1+deb9u1 ii libpng16-16 1.6.28-1+deb9u1 ii libx11-dev2:1.6.4-3+deb9u1 ii shared-mime-info 1.8-1+deb9u1 libgdk-pixbuf2.0-dev recommends no packages. libgdk-pixbuf2.0-dev suggests no packages. -- no debconf information

Bug#901792: claws-mail-clamd-plugin: Save infected emails in respective spam folders
On Wed, 20 Jun 2018 16:50:33 +0200 Ricardo Mones wrote: > Not sure why do you mix infected mails with spam folders. Also don't > see what this could be useful for or what are you trying to achieve. As I have mentioned previously, I have 2 IMAP accounts. My use-case is to keep the emails from both the accounts separate (may be because I don't trust at least 1 of them?). Anyways, so I would like to store the emails identified by Clam as "infected" on respective IMAP servers separate from each other. > Could you explain which benefit arises from spreading infected mails > in several folders? It's not about spreading infected mails in several folders but about keeping mails separate in respective IMAP accounts. Bug#901852: claws-mail-spamassassin: Move message marked as Ham to INBOX
We have 'Save spam in' in SpamAssasin plugin settings. How about adding 'Save spam messages marked as ham in'? Now it's completely up to user's discretion as to where to save spam messages which are marked as Ham. This should help us answer some of your questions! By setting 'action' to external spamfilter command, one can merely teach that spamfilter. Forget moving the message it doesn't even change the status of that message to 'spam' in Claws UI. Fortunately, SpamAssassin plugin does that! Trains the SA as well as marks the message as 'spam' in UI. But sadly, doesn't move the message. Even if one decides to not use the plugin (as the plugin doesn't move the message marked as Ham to INBOX (or pre-configure folder)) and decides to use the 'action' method, how does an external command can be executed *and* a message can be moved using 'action'?
